You start the day with a pep in your step, since, ya know your birthday and all.
"OMGG ITS MY BIRTHDAY!!", you scream internally.
You get ready for the day, wearing your best outfit and hop down the stairs. You walk down to see your mom standing over the counter. She sees you and jokingly exclaims to exit the kitchen, as shes making you a surprise breakfast. You walk into the living room after light arguing with your mother, wanting to help her. Of course she denies your help, seeing as it your birthday. You see your dad sitting on the couch holding a bunch of balloons with a gleaming smile.
"Happy birthday, my beautiful daughter!", he shouts.
You jump back, a little startled, but quickly regain you composure. You blush a little at the compliment, not used to receiving them. You walk over to your dad and give him a hug, and step back.
"Thank you dad.", you say sincerely.
"Of course, your mom and I love you so much, we cant believe you're 18 already."
"Well, I have to grow up sometime.", you say with a slight chuckle in your voice.
"I know, but it doesn't mean we want you too, your still the little girl I held in my arms the day you were born.", he says, with an air of nostalgia.
"Aww, I love you guys too, and its not like I'm going anywhere."
He chuckles lightly, as my mom walks into the room.
"Breakfast is ready, birthday girl!" She exclaims.
