Varian's POV:

I stepped through the portal, closing my eyes as i did so.

When i opened them i was in a completely different place.

The walls were lined with books and pillars of all kinds.

I was really here.

Don't get distracted Varian.

"Hello?" I called out "is anyone there?"

All i heard was my own voice echoing through the large room, which for all i knew could have been never-ending.

It was called the eternal library after all.

I got a sudden chill down my spine.

Then i heard a voice.

"Varian"

I turned around to see a familiar figure standing infront of me.

"Mom!" I cried.

She held out her arms and i ran up to hug her.

"Mom! You're ok!" I said.

"Varian" she held my head up "i've missed you so much, you've grown alot since we've last seen eachother"

"Well i mean yeah, it was like fourteen years ago" i laughed.

"And yet it still feels as though no time has passed at all." She smiled "you'll have to tell me everything you've been up to."

I started to sweat a little.

I can't tell her about being in the dungeon, how would she react?

"Right...heh..yeah, uh, well i'm Corona's royal engineer now" i said.

"Really!" She said "you know, i always told your father that one day you'd be working with royalty, he always refused to believe me but look where we are now! How do you do it?"

"Oh...i didn't do it alone" i said.

"You have an assistant?" She asked.

I nodded.

"You remember Ellie right?" I asked.

"Oh, of course i do! You were best friends when you were little, she's back in Corona and she's your assistant?"

I laughed a little and rubbed the back of my neck.

"More then just...my assistant" i corrected.

"What do you- oh! Oh my goodness!" She said "You're growing up to fast my darling, how long now?"

"Four years now" i told her.

"I'm sure that's not all you've been up to" she said.

"Well i've been on this crazy adventure" i said, pulling out the notes Catalina had asked me to take.

Elizabeth's POV:

We were all waiting for Varian to return with his mom.

While we waited i was showing our friends around the Demanitus Chamber.

As we reached Varian's lab area Hugo froze in fear.

I looked in the direction he was looking.

"Mom!" I yelled.

"Where's your little friend?" She asked.

"He's already inside!" Yong yelled.

"He shouldn't be in there!" She yelled.

"Why?" I asked.

"Elizabeth! You're friend is in danger! This is why i wanted to find the totems first! I was trying to destroy them to protect everyone!" She said.

"You could of led with that!" Hugo said.

"Why should i believe you, i thought you were trying to use the library for it's knowledge. And for your information, he's my boyfriend" I said.

"I'll admit that was my original intention all those years ago but i promise you i changed, you don't understand what she's capable of"

"She?"

Varian's POV:

"And then Donella showed up and tried to steal the totems! And here i thought she couldn't even enter the library, anyway, we managed to get away from her using these" i explained, pulling out one of my raccoon traps.

"How do they work?" Mom asked.

"Observe" i said.

A mouse ran by and i trapped it in the pink goo.

"To get rid of it, i need to use this neutralizing particle" i said, pulling out the solution that would get rid of the goo.

The mouse ran through the portal back.

"So funny story, one time i got Rapunzel stuck in it-" i started to say.

"The princess is back? Are the stories about her hair really true?" Mom asked.

"Yes yes! All of it! It was long, it glowed, it had a strange reaction to other kinds of magic, it was unbreakable, all because she was connected to the SunDrop! Also she's the queen now but yeah, don't- don't sweat it" I said excitedly.

"Sounds like you've been busy" mom laughed.

"Oh i have! I helped save Corona from exploding, destroyed these red rocks that were filling the kingdom, Rapunzel entrusted me with translating Demanitus' scroll! Mom, Zhan Teri came back!" I said.

"Woah"

"Yeah! And all of that in less then a year when i was only 16!" I said.

I sighed.

"I wish you could have been there, i've missed you" i said.

"I've missed you too" she said.

"That reminds me! I'm gonna help you get out!" I said, going and grabbing a handful of books.

"Really now...well....shall we get started?" She asked.

I nodded.

I can't wait to see the look on dad's face when she walks through the door.
