Ulla's POV(past):

"Where to next!?" i asked, as we reached Neserdnia.

"There's a body of water along the outer edge of the kingdom, it should be there"

"Okay, so one of us needs to just jump in and get it or is there another test?"

"The lake is said to force people to relive repressed memories, it could be a challenge, especially since we'll be underwater"

"Like when the dark kingdom fell?" i asked.

"Maybe"

"Well, we'll be fine, most of my worst memories weren't even that bad, and you're one of the strongest people i know, we can handle it"

Elizabeth's POV(present):

By sunset we had reached Nesdernia.

"So where are we going for the trial?" I asked.

"There's a lake somewhere that i've been told has the totem far at the bottom of it" Hugo says.

"Var?" I turned to Varian who checked the journal.

"Yeah, that's what it says" he said.

"Ok then, in that case" i started.

"Hold on tight" i whispered to Yong who was still riding with me before riding off towards the lake.

"Last one there is a rotten egg!" I said.

After a while we reached the lake.

"Who's going in first?" Yong asked.

"I nominate Ellie" Hugo said.

"No, no, i'll go in first" Varian said, removing his vest and putting his goggles over his eyes.

Then he jumped into the water.

I jumped in after him.

Then Yong.

Then Hugo.

Under the water was pitch black and i couldn't see a thing.

I pulled out a vial of a blue compound from my bag that lit up when i shook it, filling the area with blue light.

I looked around but nobody was there.

I was holding my breath so i couldn't call for them.

I noticed a blue glow, maybe the totem?

I swam towards it into a cave.

Once it closed i seemed to be able to breath again.

I noticed a vision of three people two of them were arguing one of the visions was the same woman i had seen before, another one was...

Wait...

"Dad?" Was all i managed to say.

Standing behind him was what seemed to be a younger version of myself, i'd say 4 or 5.

It was hard to make out what they were saying, it was all muffled.

I tried but i couldn't seem to interact with the vision.

It wasn't like in the fire kingdom.

Suddenly i noticed something familiar about what i was seeing, almost like i'd seen it before.

My thoughts were interrupted by another blue light.

It went right by me.

I could almost hear the sound of laughter,  like from a child.

I followed the sound deeper into the cave.

Varian's POV:

I looked around but couldn't see a thing.

Suddenly a cave started glowing.

What is going on?

I got closer to see what was going on only for the entrance to close behind me.

I was able to breath again now.

"Is anyone there!?" I called out.

No answer.

Suddenly i heard a knocking sound.

I looked behind me to see what i'm guessing was another vision.

But it seemed way to real.

I saw a vision of my dad answering the door.

On the other side was a woman i didn't recognize.

I could almost hear her say something but i couldn't make out what.

Suddenly the vision of my dad started looking like he was gonna cry.

I heard footsteps and looked over to see a vision of a younger me walking down the stairs.

Then i heard the younger me say something.

"Papa? Where's mama?"

When the younger me asked this the vision of my dad fell to his knees crying.

This was the night it happened...the night my mom disappeared.

I wasn't watching all of this play out again.

I threw myself into the blocked of entrance as hard as i could trying to open it.

My arm was probably all bruised by now.

I reached into my bag and pulled out an explosive chemical i had been trying to fix.

At least it helped with this situation because the entrance opened back up.

Hugo and Yong had made it out too.

"Where's Ellie!?" I asked.

Suddenly another cave opened up with a blue glow that we all swam into.

"Ellie!?" I called out.

"Uh...Blue Streak" Hugo pointed to the end of the cave which was flooded with water.

"No!" I ran to pull her out.

She was out cold.

Please be ok...

We all swam up to the surface and i layed her in the grass.

"Wake up...wake up!" I cried.

"Hey Blue Streak! Maybe you should try CPR" Hugo said jokingly.

"That's actually not a bad idea Hugo!" I said.

I tried a few different things until she started coughing.

"Are you ok!?" I asked her.

She looked at me and smiled.

"I'm fine.." she said.

"Don't scare me like that..." i said.

She grabbed my shirt collar and i leaned in and kissed her.

"Get a room you two!" Hugo yelled.
