.Elizabeth's POV:

"It was like the dream i had after my coronation only.. more intense" Rapunzel explained to us "this one was, trying to tell me something"

I was a little confused.

I mean sure i've heard of dreams sending messages but... 

"Tell you what?" Cass asked.

"I'm not sure" she said "the rocks, my hair, Varian, it's like they're all connected"

"I have several questions" i said "first, forgive me for the criticism, but, i don't know why you needed to draw Varian so angry, and also we've kinda already pieced together the whole 'hair and rocks connection' thing... or at least that they are connected..."

"But how?"

"Uh, hey, guys? Sorry to interrupt dream chat here but is no one else even a little bit concerned that Rapunzel woke up suspended in midair!?"

"Well, considering this has happened last time too from what Cass told me, or at least something similar with her hair acting up, it may have something to do with the sundrop" i said "but it is still concerning"

"Guys, what i saw ment something" Rapunzel said.

"Okay, let's say it did, what if it was a warning telling you to stay here where you're safe!? I mean we got it pretty good here right? Maybe we should leave the mystery behind these rocks alone"

"Uh hi" i interrupted "can i say something real quick?"

Rapunzel nodded.

"I'm not gonna force you to choose, Princess, but my dad isn't going to want me returning until things are safe back in Old Corona, that and also i may be just a little concerned about the fact that your dream having Varian calling for help might mean something!" 

She sighed "and i need answers, and i think i know where to start looking" 

Later

As we were walking outside, we passed by Rapunzel's statue.

"We still don't know anything about where Varian is and-" she was cut off by a gasp "the kite.. it's the same one from my vision.."

"Uh, Princess, friendly reminder, pretty much all the lanterns we have out around your birthday look like that" i said.

She had already grabbed the attached scroll.

"It's from.. Varian!"

"Wait, what!?" I ran over.

Rapunzel, 

I need your help now more than ever, i may have discovered the key to the rocks, find the bronze graphtyc in my lab, but be careful, they are watching and will do anything to stop you

"Oh no..." i said.

"What?"

"Princess, i know Varian's handwriting... he wrote this in a hurry...."

"I knew it, he still needs our help!" 

"What do you wanna do?" Cass asked.

She hesitated before speaking "we gotta go to Old Corona"

"And just hope that my dad isn't home...." i said under my breath.

Later

"Old Corona is just over this hill"

"You know, this explains why he hasn't responded to my letters, he probably isn't even home" i said.

Cass and Eugene were talking but i wasn't paying attention until Rapunzel suddenly stopped the cart.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

She stood staring at a black rock.

"My dad told me that all the black rocks had been removed" she said.

I... don't remember there being a way to remove the rocks...

"Okay so they missed one" Eugene said.

"Um, guys?" Cass called us to look over before revealing...

Old Corona...

What happened to it?

I was to busy processing the state of the village to pay attention to what the others were saying.

After a while we reached a wall of black rocks.

It split two ways, and Cass sent her owl in to find the right path.

Once we were finally through, we had reached Varian's house.

I heard something coming from the direction of my house, not to far away 

The others all jumped but i knew who it was.

"Athena!"

My pet wolf came running up to me and i rubbed her head.

"Hey girl, i'm sorry, if i knew this would happen i would have taken you to the castle with me!"

"Who's this?" Eugene asked.

"Oh, guys, this is my pet wolf, Athena" i said.

"Well, Varian has a raccoon so we shouldn't be to surprised"

"How's Varian been by the way?" I turned to ask her.

She whimpered a little.

"That.. doesn't sound good..."

We had stalled long enough.

I went ahead to get inside.

Once we were all inside, we took in what was around us.

It looked abandoned.

"You know, Pigtails, you should really sit your boyfriend down and have a discussion about an organized, clutter free, workspace" Eugene said.

"It's not normally this bad" i said.

As we all looked around i stumbled on a stack of papers on his desk.

Upon closer inspection, i realized what they were...

These were the letters i had written to him after the storm...

He probably didn't have time to respond before he left.

I mean, he had left notes on them as if marking what to bring up when he wrote back, but he never did.

I noticed next to it was what looked like the beginning of a response that hadn't been touched in days.

How long has he been gone for?

I picked it up to look at it but Rapunzel had found what we needed already so we had to leave.

Then she noticed the strange tarp in the room.

I assumed maybe it was something he was working on but i guess she just wanted to be sure.

I was wrong...

I was so wrong...

Is this what he ment when he said Quirin was being incased?

As we all processed the situation, the door opened.

"Who is that?" Eugene asked.

Cass turned to me "friend of yours?" She joked.

I shook my head as she ran at him.

Soon, everyone was being thrown around the lab.

Which was probably the worst place to do this.

Then Rapunzel started throwing compounds at the attacker.

"Princess, be careful, you don't know what those will do!" I said.

Then she pulled out the raccoon traps.

"You know what? That works, i'll explain this to him when i see him!"

Then we ran outside.

But while we were running through the tunnels, he kept catching up to us.

"How fast is this guy!?" Eugene asked.

When we got out we noticed that there was actually more than one.

"Well, i guess that explains why he could move so fast..." he said "Cassandra, you take the ones in black, we'll handle the rest"

As Rapunzel backed up, the rocks started to glow.

Oh no....

Then Max came in with a frying pan.

We all climbed up onto him and started to leave.

Athena trailed just behind us.

"These guys want whatever this is pretty badly, something tells me we won't make it to the castle" Rapunzel said.

"She's right" Eugene said "we need somewhere to hide and come up with a plan"

"I know just the place"

We took a detour and stopped at a cliff.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"We needed a place to hide, here we are" Rapunzel said.

"And uh... where is here!?" Eugene asked.

Rapunzel started climbing down a vine.

Okay i guess we're doing this now?

"Eugene i'm.. surprised you didn't recognize where we are" she said when we reached the bottom, pulling back a wall of vines "actually... now I'm not even sure if i regonize it"

"Rapunzel is that...?"

"My old tower"

A little later

"What are you doing?" Cass asked me.

"Well, Rapunzel wanted to know what was going on with her hair, i'm getting a sample for a side by side comparison." I said, snipping a few strands off of what was laying around.

Was it weird? Maybe a little.

But it may help with figuring this all out.

"Hey Ellie, has Varian told you what this is?" The princess asked.

"No, why?" I asked.

"I can't open it"

Cass took it and struggled until Rapunzel noticed the key hole.

It opened to reveal a strange scroll written in another language.

"Guys?" Eugene got our attention "i think we have a problem"

The masked people from earlier were climbing the wall of the tower.

Rapunzel was mad now.

And from recent experience, that doesn't usually end well.

She started undoing her braid as she approached the window.

"Rapunzel what are you doing!?" Cass asked.

"Letting down my hair..." 

Well, it got those guys away but now the rocks were spreading up the tower.

We ran up the stairs to escape through the top window.

We then had to climb up Rapunzel's hair to reach it.

We ran across the roof as the rocks continued to follow.

"How are we supposed to get down!?" I asked.

"Well it's a little crazy so you guys are just gonna have to trust me" 

"Sure, let's go for it, i'm up for anything at this point" Eugene said.

And then we jumped off of the tower.

And Rapunzel's hair formed some sort of sheild around us.

"Did everyone see that!? Is that new!?" cass asked when we landed.

I pulled out a notepad and wrote it down.

"Add that to the list of things to figure out" i said.

The tower began to crumble and Rapunzel was clearly really upset.

We noticed the masked men or at least one of them.

Rapunzel took the mask and he revealed his face.

That's the captain of the royal guards.

"Dad?" Cass said.

He stood up.

"Princess, we had orders to recover the scroll, and keep it from you" he explained.

"Who!? Who ordered you!?"

They hesitated.

"Answer her!" 

"Your father...." he finally told her.

She looked at the scroll again.

"Why would your father want to keep this from you?" Eugene questioned.

"I don't know" Rapunzel said "but i'm going to find out"

(I'll maybe make a little more for season 3 stuff but i realized trying to wait for transcripts to come out was making you all wait to long, then my computer stopped working so i couldn't type out the story but i eventually figured it out after relearning how wattpad works on my tablet XD)
