Varian's POV:

"Never give up Ruddiger. So our last formula didn't deliver quiet the reaction we'd hoped. So what? The important thing is we got a reaction-" i said, about to test another solution.

"Son, I just want to-" dad walked in, without warning me.

"Oh, oh" i turned around quickly, forgetting i was in the middle of pouring a solution on the rocks.

"Varian I told you to stay away from those rocks." Dad said.

"Um, yeah, I- I know what you said but-!"

"Then there should be no misunderstanding. Now listen to me when I-"

"No! No, you listen to me dad. Our village is dying! You think running away from the problem is gonna fix it? No- these rocks aren't going away." I said.

"I know Varian. But there's more to them than you can possibly imagine." Dad turned away from me.

"Then why won't you tell me? Dad! I just- I deserve to know." I said.

"I'm sorry son. You're not ready. Varian watch out-!" Dad yelled as he turned to face me.

I noticed the rocks expanding as dad pushed me out of the way.

I looked back at him to see his arm trapped in the rock.

"Oh! Dad! Dad! Hold on dad! Hold on- ah, I'll get you out!"

"No! Stay back"

I grabbed my jacket and scarf.

"I'm gonna go get help!"

I ran out of the house and in the direction of the castle.

Rapunzel will know what to do.

I hope i can fix this...i've messed up enough already....

It was a nightmare.

Rapunzel was terrified.

King Fredrick and Queen Arianna were lost somewhere.

And there was talk of an evacuation.

And no way of reaching out to Varian.

Until almost as if the universe had heard me he came barging through the door.

"Rapunzel! Princess Rapunzel! I need your help!" He cried.

"Varian are you ok!?" I asked.

"I'm fine but...but my dad he...-" Varian said completely flustered.

"Varian, breath" Rapunzel said, leading him out in the hall, i followed not far behind.

"What's wrong" Rapunzel asked.

"The rocks! They're- they're incasing my dad!" Varian said.

I covered my mouth in shock.

"Incasing? What do you-"

"Come see for yourself" Varian said.

"Varian, it's a state of emergency here, i can't help you!" Rapunzel said "not now"

"But you promised you-"

Nigil, one of the palace staff walked over.

"Princess whatever the boy's problem it must be set aside" he said.

"No! No! Rapunzel! You have to help me please!"

Nigil signaled for the guards, wait!

"Rapunzel!" Varian called out as Pete and stan grabbed him by the arms.

"Princess! My dad needs help!" He yelled as he was dragged away.

"Varian!" I yelled.

"Rapunzel! You promised! You promised!"

Varian's POV:

"You should head home and get some shelter before the storm gets worse kid" one of the guards said.

I sighed

"Fine..." i said.

I ran home as fast as i could.

"Dad! Dad the princess refused to help but-" i said as i ran through the door.

I turned to my dad and...

I felt my heart drop...

I ran to him as fast as i could.

He was now fully incased.

"Dad... dad! No! No no no! Dad! Daddy!" I cried...

This wasn't happening.

Ruddiger curled up next to me.

"What am i gonna do buddy?" I cried.

"I can't leave him like this... i can't give up that easily...we already lost mom, i can't lose him too..."

I looked at my dad again, frozen in place.

"Don't worry dad..i'm gonna get to the bottom of this...i promise..."
