Elizabeth's POV:

"Everything is up and running" Varian said as he fixed the device "Alright! All set to send Zhan Teri back!"

"Now all we gotta do is figure out how to lure Zhan Teri into that portal" Lance said.

Suddenly rocks came falling down on the device, destroying it.

"Aw comon!!"

"Spoke to soon" i said.

It started getting worse.

"Everybody get out!!" Queen Arianna said.

When we reached outside Eugene, king Edmund, and the Brotherhood were there.

We noticed a demon monster breaking through the castle wall.

"Let the age of Zhan Teri begin!" She yelled.

"Ok, if that thing is that little girl then she has hit a really unfortunate growth spurt" Eugene said.

"This isn't good" i said.

"It's ok, we can do this!" Varian said.

"Ruddiger! Over here buddy!"

Ruddiger ran over and we climbed on his back.

Something was going on up there but i couldn't tell what.

Suddenly rocks started coming down again.

"Ok, listen up! I need everyone to get as far away from here as possible" Eugene ordered.

"But what about you, son?" King Edmund asked.

Rocks kept falling and Zhan Teri made some crazy animal noise.

"I'm going after Rapunzel" Eugene said before riding Max towards the castle.

"Not alone you're not! I'm coming with you!" Lance followed behind him.

Varian gave me a worried look.

I smiled and nodded.

"So are we!" He said.

"For Corona! For Rapunzel!" Everyone started yelling.

Zhan Teri was summoning these crazy yellow rocks.

First black, then red, now yellow!?

Suddenly she jumped down and almost landed on Me, Varian, and Ruddiger.

People started attacking her.

Or at least they tried...

"Have you come to watch me obliterate your kingdom?" She asked.

"You hear that guys!?" Eugene laughed "lady squid-bottom here thinks we're calling it quits!"

Zhan Teri started summoning even more rocks.

"You don't know Coronans very well do you?" Eugene asked.

"Coronans have always been the same, pathetic"

"Comon! Let's hit her with everything we got! Charge!!"

We started fighting but nothing helped.

"Is this the best the Coronans have to offer?" Zhan Teri laughed.

She started attacking everyone.

Varian took off his bag and grabbed a vial out of it.

"Hey Zhan Teri!" He yelled "Catch!"

He shot the vial at her making it explode into a smoke cloud.

"Yes!"

But it did nothing.

"That went better in my head" Varian said nervously.

"I have a better idea!" I said pulling out another vial.

We were trying to make something powerful enough to keep Zhan Teri down long enough to defeat her.

So we took a risk and mixed every kind of sleep compound, solution, or serum, even Xavier's sleep potion, that we could find.

I pulled out one of my arrows and dipped the tip into the solution before firing it at Zhan Teri with my bow.

It hit her in the arm and her eyes actually started to close for a second.

"It's working!!" Varian said excitedly.

Suddenly, i'm guessing from having both the sundrop and moonstone.

The solution stopped taking effect.

"Oh come on!" I yelled.

"You're only prolonging your own demise" she said before plucking the arrow out like it was nothing.

Then she threw it back in our direction.

It was about to hit Varian.

Then i did something...kinda without thinking.

I jumped in front of him and got hit with it.

"Ellie!" Varian yelled.

"I'm ok..." i said, starting to get tired due to the fact there was still some of the solution on the arrow.

Suddenly rocks started forming cages around everyone.

When one appeared around us.

The ground shaking caused me to fall off Ruddiger onto the ground.

Varian jumped down after me.

Then....Zhan Teri began to speak.

Wither and decay

No....

End this Destiny

Varian held me close.

Break these earthly chains and set the spirit free

Varian's POV:

The entire place started to lose it's color.

I could definitely feel the incantation taking effect.

Then...something happened that... I wish hadn't....

Ellie had put her hand on my shoulder but....just as the entire area had lost it's color....

I felt it drop...

No...no no no!

I wanted to say something, anything to wake her up but it became to painful to speak.

Eventually i felt my eyes tearing up....

But it didn't last long...

As everything....

Went....

Black....

........

Bring back what once was mine
What once was mine
What once....was mine

As i opened my eyes everything seemed back to normal...

Except Rapunzel's hair was shorter...

And brown...

How much did i miss?

As i looked around everyone was waking up.

It was over...

Finally!

I looked down at Ellie who seemed to still be asleep.

I waited...

And waited...

"Hey" i shook her a little "wake up"

"Is she ok?"

I looked up to see Rapunzel, Eugene, and Cass.

"She should have woken up by now" i said.

"What exactly happened?" Cass asked.

"Well she shot an arrow at Zhan Teri that had this really powerful sleep compound on it but-" then i realized.

She had been hit with that arrow.

"No! No no no!" I cried.

Later

"No no no!" I yelled throwing stuff around my lab.

I'd tried every reverse serum, compound, solution, everything!

Nothing was waking her up!

"What exactly was in that solution?" Eugene asked.

"Pretty much every sleep compound, solution, or serum i've ever made" i said "we even added Xavier's sleep potion to make it more powerful"

At that, Rapunzel's eyes lit up.

I can not begin to describe how confused i was.

"Varian have you tried anything other then alchemy to solve the problem?" She asked.

"No, why?" I asked nervously.

"You clearly don't know how to reverse Xavier's sleep potion" she laughed "Where is she?"

I sighed.

"My room" i said.

We all walked up there.

Rapunzel smiled at me.

"What's with the smile?" I asked.

"You need to kiss her" she said.

"What!? She's sleeping! That's creepy!" I said.

"But, haven't you ever heard of true love's kiss?" She asked.

"I think you've been reading to many fairy tales, princess" i said.

"No really, that's how Xavier's sleep potion works!"

"Well it might work but even if it would...there's one problem"

"What's that?"

"We uh..." i laughed nervously "we haven't actually used the 'L' word yet"

"You've gotta be kidding me" Eugene said "3 years, Goggles! Yes you could argue you were locked up in the middle but still! 3 years!"

"Believe me, i've been trying but i keep getting interrupted" i said.

"Just try it" Rapunzel said.

I looked over at Ellie.

She was sleeping in my bed with Athena curled up at her feet.

I sighed.

"What if i dosen't work?" I asked.

"Varian" Rapunzel got my attention "do i need to remind you why Ellie never got frozen by the red rocks down in those tunnels?"

"I...i kissed her to snap her out of the hallucination" i said.

"And why did she get hit with that arrow to begin with?"

"She...jumped infront of me...so it wouldn't hit me..."

I sighed.

"I'll try" i nodded.

I walked over to Ellie and sat next to her.

"You've got this!" I heard from the doorway.

I took a deep breath.

I can do this.

I leaned in and kissed her.

I waited for a minute.

Nothing happened.

"What did i say? You've been reading to many fairy tales Rapunzel" i sighed, turning to look at Rapunzel.

She looked over my shoulder and looked like she was trying not to laugh.

"What?" I looked over my shoulder.

Ellie was laying there struggling to contain her laughter, trying to act like she was still asleep.

"Are you guys serious?" I asked.

"It worked" Rapunzel said.

I gave her a death glare.

"That's our cue to leave" Eugene said, pulling Rapunzel and Cass out of the house.

Ellie walked up next to me and put her hand on my shoulder.

"You ok?" She asked.

I calmed down, hearing her voice.

"Don't ever scare me like that again" i said.

"I'm sorry" she said.

I pulled her into a hug.

"I love you, Ellie" i said.

"I love you too, Varian"
