Elizabeth's POV:

It started like a normal day.

Rapunzel, me, Varian, Red and Angry, and all the animals were on a trip to a neighboring kingdom to help Red and Angry return some stuff they stole.

"Oh i can't wait to get my hands on a copper plated almec from the Neserdnian market! Do you have any idea how many poly-alchemical substrarion tests i'll be able to run!?" Varian said.

"Anyone wanna switch seats with me?" Angry, who was sitting on the other side of where Varian was sitting, asked.

Rapunzel climbed over into the front.

"We're happy to have you along, you two" she told us.

"Plus, i'm hoping once Max and Ruddiger spend some time together, they can finally become friends."

Max was clearly not happy about this plan.

Suddenly both Max and Ruddiger noticed an apple hanging from a tree we were passing.

Here we go again.

They started fighting over it.

Eventually it got so crazy the wagon started moving.

"Woah!"

"What happened?" Rapunzel asked.

Red climbed into the back.

"What's this?" She asked, holding up a shell shaped necklace "i don't remember stealing it"

"Whatever it is it's beautiful" Rapunzel said.

"And i bet it's pretty valuable"

"Uh, gang?" Varian tried to get their attention.

"hi, hello, speaking of valuables we uh, might wanna still the loot? We're coming up on Dead Man's Curve, yeah, it's a hotbed of highway robbery" he explained.

I could tell Varian was scared.

And not just because he was hiding behind Rapunzel's hair.

"Hey, Varian it's ok" i said.

"Yeah, relax V" Angry said "real thieves don't waste their time on here, it's mostly for hacks and knuckleheads"

Suddenly someone jumped infront of the wagon, startling us.

"Hand over the goods!" He said.

"Or in this case, both" Red said.

"Hi Dwayne" she, Angry, and Rapunzel all said in unison.

"Aw, nuts, hello princess" the guy, Dwayne, said nervously.

"Dwayne, what did we talk about last time you were caught trying to steal?" Rapunzel asked him.

"Don't do it" he said "i promise i'll never steal again, infact i'm gonna go look for an honest job right now! Nice runnin' into ya,  enjoy your trip!"

"That was....weird" i said.

Then the fight between Max and Ruddiger continued.

"Guys! Cut it out!" Rapunzel yelled.

Ruddiger eventually ran up a tree.

"Ruddiger! Get down here!" Varian scolded.

Pascal then stole the apple.

"We may be in for a long ride" i said.

Ruddiger jumped onto Max's back and things started to get crazy.

"Comon you guys!" Rapunzel said before Max started running around like crazy.

Athena who had been asleep in the back seat woke up and started barking.

Suddenly not only were Ruddiger, Max, and Pascal going crazy about the apple but this random bird that was with us for some reason grabbed the necklace and tried to get involved.

"Enough!" Rapunzel eventually yelled.

"Maybe it's time for you all to just shake hands and get along! I mean shake hoof and tail or beak and...paw"

"Is that what raccoons have? Paws? I can never remember if it's paws or feet" she asked Varian.

"Oh well, just shake what you've got and get on with it!" She said.

The bird started messing with the necklace.

A blue light came from it and surrounded us.

Before we knew it we were falling into a room filled with pillows.

"Is everyone ok?" Rapunzel asked.

"We're fine" i said.

We looked up through what looked like a small window.

We noticed a bird eye which freaked me out a little.

"Okay" Rapunzel said "either we've somehow been magically shrunk down and imprisoned inside the shell pendant..."

"Or?" Red said.

"Or....yeah sorry, i was hoping i'd think of something more positive sounding by the time i finished that thought but i've got nothing"

"Does this mean where stuck here forever?" I asked, resting my head on Varian's lap.

"It's ok, it's ok! We'll find a way out of here! We have been in much worse situations! Definitely not weirder...but worse" Rapunzel said.

"What have i ever done to deserve this!?" Angry yelled.

"Di-didn't you steal from like...dozens of people?" Varian asked.

"Oh...right...we're doomed" Angry said, throwing a pillow at Varian's face.

He got ready to throw it back at her but Rapunzel took the pillow away.

"Chin up guys! I bet Max and the others are already on their way to get help" she said.

Angry looked over at me and Varian "I hope so... if i need to spend to long with these two being all lovey dovey i'm gonna be sick" she said.

"I'm sorry what was that?" Varian asked.

"Don't worry about it" i said.

"Hey i have an idea,! Why don't we see what's going on outside?" Rapunzel suggested.

"How?" I asked.

A few minutes later

"I just wanna say i was not expecting this!" I said as we started climbing on eachothers shoulders.

"What can you see?" Rapunzel asked Red who was at the top looking out.

"Um..it looks like we're moving" Red answered.

"Moving?" I asked.

"W-where is Max taking us?" Varian asked.

"Ugh...Max isn't the one carrying us" Red said "Dwayne is"

"Well that's just great..." i said.

"Hey! Catalina! Do you think you can push that jewel out of its setting?" Rapunzel suggested.

"Oh yeah! Good idea! If you can you might be able to-to squeeze through that opening" Varian said.

"I'll give it a try" Red said.

She started pushing on it.

"Ugh, it's in there pretty good" she said.

She kept trying to push it out.

"Ugh, almost! Got it!" She said.

"Great job Catalina! Can you fit!?" Rapunzel asked.

"I'll try!" Red said, reaching her hand through the opening.

After a minute she brought her hand back in and stared at it for a second.

"You ok?" I asked.

"My finger! It was normal size!" She said.

Eventually we couldn't stay in a tower like that any longer so we kinda...fell...

Varian who had gotten himself tied up in some of the drapes hanging around, fell on his head before noticing something.

"Guys look!" He said, looking at a plaque on the ground.

We all went to look at it.

"Wow, i-it appears to be some kind of ancient choreography, mionotion perhaps, no no, maybe early saporian" he said.

I laughed a little.

"Uh, you're looking at it upside down" Rapunzel pointed out.

"Oh, right, of course!" Varian laughed.

"You tried" i told him.

"'You are now prisoner of the shell, to escape it's curse you must return it to the brimey deeps of the sea, or remain inside it, evermore'" Rapunzel read.

"'Evermore?' Like...forever?" I asked.

"Uh, how can we return the shell to the sea when we're stuck inside of it?" Red asked.

"I said it before, i'll say it again, we're doomed!" Angry said.

"Hey! Don't forget 'doom' upside down is 'woop'!" Rapunzel said.

What?

"And while you think about that think about this!" She continued "our friends are still out there! Max is the best tracker in Corona, and he's probably on Dwayne's tail as we speak!"

"And Pascal is really really smart!" Red added.

"Plus Ruddiger can be surprisingly resourceful" Varian said.

"That's true! And Athena is really fast! She'll catch up with this guy in no time!" I said.

There was silence for a minute.

"Anyone wanna say anything nice about that bird?" Angry asked.

The room went silent again if you didn't count Varian's whistling.

"Maybe we can find another way out?" I suggested.

"Just change the subject, ok" Angry said.

"That's not a bad idea Ellie, there may be some kind of hidden door somewhere" Varian said.

Later

"No trap doors, no secret passages, not even a hidden compartment!" Rapunzel said "what kind of enchanted tailspin is this?"

"Looks like we're gonna be here for the rest of our lives" Angry said.

"I call this couch!" Red said.

"Hey, maybe it won't be that bad after a-ew"

"I was so sure there would be something" i said, sitting on another one of the couches.

"At least we checked, we know we didn't miss anything" Varian said, putting his arm around me.

I put my head on his shoulder "what are we gonna do?" I said.

Suddenly Red appeared with some kind of bird skull on her hand.

"Hiya roomies, my name's Skully! And i've got a bone to pick with ya!" She said, using the skull like a puppet.

"Gah!" I backed away from it, where did she find that!?

Varian seemed shocked too.

"Let me try!" Angry said.

"Why!? Wanna tickle everybody's funny bones!?" Red asked, in the voice she made up for 'Skully'

Suddenly we heard something.

"Skully shh!" Rapunzel said "do you hear that?"

We listened for what she wanted us to hear.

"The cringy singing?" I asked.

"Oh brother..." Angry said.

"Guys, don't you get it? If we can hear him, he can hear us" Rapunzel said.

"How?" I asked.

"We just need to make our voices louder"

Rapunzel held a bottle up to her mouth.

"Hello!" She said.

"Huh!? Is someone there!?" We heard Dwayne say.

Angry stole the bottle.

"Listen you boneheaded weasel!" She yelled.

"Angry, give it back!" Rapunzel said.

"Who's angry? Give what back?" We heard.

"We are not gonna get him to bring us to the sea by insulting him!" Rapunzel said.

"Wait...insult who?" We heard.

"Yeah something tells me he's not gonna do it if we ask him nicely either" Varian said.

"You're right!" Rapunzel said.

"Dwayne!" She said in a spooky voice.

I was trying my best not to laugh.

I had to have Varian cover my mouth.

"This is your subconscious!" Rapunzel continued.

"Sub-....what now?" We heard.

"Your subconscious!" She repeated.

"You know your...innermost self? That little voice in your head?"

"I don't understand"

"Just listen! You need to drop the pendant into the sea"

"But why!? This thing is worth a fortune!"

"It is! But it's a uh...a magic pendant! If you throw it into the sea, it will grow....uh, ten times as big! And be worth so much more!"

"Well..i don't know..."

"Ugh, it might be time for some reverse psychology" Rapunzel said.

"I don't think forward psychology would work on this dimwit" Angry said.

"Language!" I said

Angry rolled her eyes.

"You're right Dwayne" Rapunzel continued with the creepy voice.

"Don't do it! Let the lucky crook you sell it to do it! That way, he can get rich!"

"Why that backstabbing jerk! No one double crosses Dwayne!"

"I think it worked!" I said.

"That's it Dwayne! Your almost there!"

We noticed water through the small window.

"He's actually doing it!" Red said excitedly.

Then we noticed Pascal's eye.

Not good.

"Oh! Be careful Pascal!" Rapunzel said.

Suddenly we noticed a fight breaking out between Dwayne and the animals.

Be careful guys...

Suddenly we were in the sky.

"Where are we going!?" I asked.

"Wow, did not see that coming" Rapunzel said.

"Looks like we can officially count the animals out of our rescue plan" Angry said, standing at the top of another tower of us all standing on eachothers shoulders.

"Guys i have been in alot of situations like this" Rapunzel said "well, not like this, i mean how often does a person get stuck inside a trinket but...the important thing is we can never give up hope on our friends"

"Max is a top notch guard!" 

"He just needs to learn that a great leader has to listen as well as give orders"

"In other words he has to learn how to play well with others"

"Each one of those guys has something special about them"

"Pascal, may be small but he's mighty, and also adorable"

"And Ruddiger is Cunning, and loyal"

I noticed a smile spread across Varian's face, Ruddiger has been through so much with him.

"And Athena, she's brave, and so caring"

I smiled

"If they could just come together, they'd be unstoppable" Rapunzel finished her speech, while helping us all down.

"I couldn't help but notice you forgot to mention the bird" Angry said.

"Oh! I didn't forget!" Rapunzel said.

"But princess, even if those guys got their acts together, how would they find us all the way up here?" Red asked.

Rapunzel thought about it.

"You're right"

She looked around.

"Did you say your finger was normal sized when it was outside the shell?"

Red nodded.

"Varian! Ellie! Can you guys turn these drapes into lanterns that can send them a signal? Like maybe fireworks or something?" Rapunzel asked.

"I think so" i said.

"Of course we can!" Varian said, pulling down the drapes.

"I'll make the lanterns, you make the compounds we'll need!" I told him.

He nodded and went to get his alchemy gear.

"Great idea princess! Nothing like a little alchemical pizzazz to get their attention" Varian said.

I handed him the lanterns which he then connected the vials filled with different compounds to before releasing them through the window.

"3...2.....1" i said, counting down to the point where the fireworks went off.

"You did it guys!" Rapunzel said.

"Couldn't have done it without my personal assistant!" Varian said putting his arm around me.

I laughed.

"Come here" i said grabbing his shirt collar.

"Not now!" Angry yelled "if you're gonna kiss at least go over there i don't want to throw up!"

"Hmph! Fine!" I said.

Varian and i walked to the other side of the room.

He laughed a little.

"Now where were we?" I asked.

"Guys look!" Rapunzel called us over.

"Now!?" Varian asked.

"Just for a second, you guys can be all lovey dovey later, geez" Angry said.

"What is it?" I asked.

"It's Ruddiger and Pascal!" Rapunzel said excitedly.

"Ayy!" Varian said.

Suddenly there was a loud noise, and Ruddiger fell off the edge of the cliff we were on.

I covered my mouth in shock.

"Nooo! Ruddiger!!" Varian yelled.

Suddenly he reappeared with the bird from before.

Then they flew off.

"Oh...we're doomed" Varian said.

Then Pascal appeared and grabbed the necklace.

"Varian, wait wait wait! This is part of their plan!" Rapunzel said before laughing.

When she looked back out the window she gasped.

"Dwayne" she said.

Then we were about to fall before Rapunzel threw her hair out.

"Nice shot Rapunzel!" Angry said.

"I gotta admit, that was pretty close!"

Before we knew it the pendant was in the water and we were let out.

In less then two seconds Max and Ruddiger were fighting over an apple again.

We decided we'd do this tomorrow and just head home for the night.

Later (at Varian's house)

"Varian! What took so long!?" Quirin called from the other room.

"It's a long story dad!" Varian answered.

"Well, i should...probably head home" i said.

"Goodnight"

Just as i was turning around Varian grabbed my arm and turned me to face him.

"Varian! Can you come help me with something!?" Quirin called from the other room again.

"Dad give me a minute!" Varian said before turning to me and giving me a quick kiss.

"Goodnight" he said.

I went outside where i saw Athena.

"Today was crazy wasn't it?" I asked her.

She jumped around while barking alot.
