Elizabeth's POV:

"Bye uncle Monty!" I said as we left the sweet shop.

"Bye kids, have fun!" He said.

As we were walking through the street i looked over at Varian.

He was looking at all the decorations, heart shaped banners from window to window on every building.

Then he looked at me, and smiled, laughing a little.

"Ellie...you're staring at me again" he said.

I looked away, clearly flustered.

"Sorry!" I said.

"Don't be" he laughed.

We walked around a bit more before he spoke again.

"You know, i'm glad you suggested this, i barely come up to the city for festivals because i'm always busy in my lab, it's nice to get out for a while" he said.

"I barely come up here either, i've been to like maybe one goodwill festival last year and that's it!" I said "the change is nice"

I looked over at him again.

"Especially when i'm spending it with you" i smiled.

He seemed suprised and looked away, smiling a little.

Wait...was he blushing?

"Sorry if i'm making you uncomfortable" i said.

"Huh? No! Of course not! I'm happy to be able to spend the day with you too!" He said.

I looked over his shoulder at the clock near the castle.

"Is that the time!?" I asked, slightly panicked.

"What do you mean?" Varian asked.

"We need to go back to old corona now! If I'm not home in an hour my parents will kill me!" I said.

"Oh! Of course! Let me just get-" he turned and looked next to him "where's Ruddiger?"

We looked into a nearby ally to see Ruddiger there, talking with another raccoon.

"Ahem!" Varian got his attention.

Ruddiger looked over at him.

"Time to go buddy, the festival will be over soon anyway" Varian said.

Ruddiger nodded and got up on Varian's shoulders.

Later

I sat looking out my window at the night sky not realizing i was doodling hearts on a piece of paper infront of me.

I wish we hadn't had to cut the day short.

Suddenly a small shadow jumped onto my windowsill, snapping me out of the dazed state i was in.

I opened the window and Ruddiger jumped onto my desk.

"Ruddiger? What are you doing here buddy?" I asked.

I noticed he was holding something.

He handed it to me.

"What's this?" I took the scroll he handed me and read it.

Ellie,
Sorry today didn't go quiet as planned, to bad we had to cut it short, i was having alot of fun hanging out with you.

Oh, and about the "being more then friends" thing...i'd be willing to give it a try if you are!

I was trying my best not to pass out.

Ruddiger seemed happy too.

Then he left and ran back to Varian's house.

Today ended up being a good day after all.

Everyone always waits till season 3 but i wanted to change it up a bit, so they're together now, they just wont become to serious until season 3, it's kinda a win-win)
