Chapter 60
"What's the date?" I groaned, knowing that I was due to have these kids within the next week or so. I'm having twins!
"February 20," Emily replied. She was now somewhere around seven months pregnant also.
"Ugh, I'm not even due until March 2," I groaned. Emily laughed at me.
"You'll give birth soon enough," she said. I was on bed rest for the better part of the day, so Emily and Sue took turns coming to make food for the pack and help me out around the house.
"Hey, beautiful," Paul said, coming into our bedroom with Grayson on his hip.
"Thanks for everything, Em," I said as she left.
"The food and plates are on the table for the boys," she said.
"Go home to your husband. Mine can do the dishes," I said. Paul laughed at me as he and Grayson sat on the edge of the bed.
"Mommy," Grayson said, wrapping his arms around my neck. He's three now and I'm trying to keep him on a schedule, which isn't easy.
"Grayson," I said, returning the hug.
"Mommy, Jack and Uncle Seth let me watch Sesame Street all day," he said.
"Didn't you go outside?" I asked, remembering the sun shine that had come through the window.
"Yeah, and we played soccer and Quil taught me how to punch stuff," he said happily.
"Let's hope you didn't get your daddy's temper," I said, looking at my husband. He smirked and grabbed my hand.
"I think he'll be alright," Paul said, laughing. I looked at the clock, realizing it was almost 7:30. Emily had brought Grayson and I dinner a few hours ago, and then Paul had given him his bath, so he was ready for bed.
"Grayson, you've gotta go to bed soon. Wanna go grab a book and I'll read it to you," I said. He took off for his room.
"Thanks for everything," I said, leaning forward to kiss Paul's cheek.
"I haven't done anything. You're the one carrying our children," he said.
"You've stepped up with Grayson a lot. And sacrificed your sleep to run patrols," I said. "That's a lot more than an alpha should have to do."
"Babygirl, I'd still get you the moon if you asked for it," he said, kissing me.
"And, the moon is still happy and content where it is," I said.
"I picked a book," Grayson said, running in and hopping on the bed.
"Which one?" Paul asked.
"Where the Wild Things Are," he said, handing the book to me.
"I found them," I said, hugging him. "There's one right here."
"I'm your favorite wild thing," he said, causing Paul and I to laugh.
"Of course you are," I said, opening the book and reading it to my son. After that, I said goodnight to him, and Paul took him into his room, tucking him in and putting him to sleep.
When Paul returned, he threw himself across the bed, sighing in exasperation. "What's wrong?" I asked as he groaned into the pillow.
"It's been a long day," he sighed.
"Go take a hot shower, I'll be here when you get back," I said.
"We could go soak in the tub together," he said, giving me a devilish grin.
"Not likely," I said. "I'm not allowed out of this bed after noon. Docs orders."
"Fine," he said, pouting. "I'll be back."
When he did return, he cuddled up beside me and almost fell asleep before I could even talk to him.
"Babe," I said. "You've gotta get up and turn the lights off. Then we've gotta finalize baby names."
"Okay," he groaned, turning the lights off. "What're you thinking for baby names?"
"Samantha Grace, after Sam, is the primary girls name," I said.
"Agreed, so long as I can call her Sammy," he said.
"That's fine. Secondary girls name?" I asked.
"Charlotte, calling her Charlie, Rose," I suggested.
"Why not Charlotte Rain," he said. "Actually, why not Rain for her middle name no matter what?"
"Samantha Rain. I like it," I said.
"And for boys?" He asked. "I like Samuel."
"And if we have a girl and a boy?" I asked. "Samuel and Samantha?"
"Okay, so Samuel can be the secondary name," he said.
"What about Wyatt?" I asked. "Wyatt something Lahote."
"Wyatt Lahote," he said. "Wyatt Charles Lahote."
"I like it," I said.
"So Wyatt Charles Lahote or Samuel something Lahote," he said.
"Samuel Adam Lahote," he said, smirking slightly.
"You are ridiculous," I said. "You cannot name our son Samuel Adam."
"Why not?" He asked. "That's Sam's middle name."
"Emily will be here tomorrow and I'll ask her. If you are telling the truth Samuel Adam can be the secondary name."
