Chapter 47

"So what do you want to do tonight?" Paul asked as we walked into the house that would soon be ours.

"What did you have planned?" I asked, already knowing the answer.

"Well, I was hoping," he trailed off, standing behind me and kissing my neck.

"Paul," I said, softly, not wanting to ruin the moment. I knew that he'd see the scars across my stomach eventually, but they were the thing that made me the most insecure.

"What is it babe?" He asked, running his finger tips up my bear arms, causing goosebumps to form.

"There's something you need to see before you do anything," I said. I spun out of his arms as he hit the light switch.

"What's up babe?" He asked, panic filling his voice.

"So these scars have been making me extremely insecure, and I haven't shown anyone," I said softly. "If we're going to be together in that way, I think you need to see them."

"Babe, you're beautiful, no matter what. You'll always be beautiful to me," he said, stepping closer. Before I could talk myself out of it, I pulled the shirt I was wearing up to reveal my perfect abs, with the imperfect scars ruining them. I maybe much more mature than the average 18 year old, but I was still an 18 year old girl with normal teenage insecurities.

Paul did the one thing I wasn't expecting. He kneeled in front of me and started to kiss the scars. I gasped at the shock and the heat of his lips against the cool skin on my stomach.

"Babe," Paul said, standing back up. "Are you sure you want to do this?"

"More sure than I've been about anything before in my life," I said. He nodded, and led me to his bedroom.

The next morning, Paul's phone rang, waking up both of us. I listened to Paul's raspy morning voice, falling more in love with sound of it by the second. I groaned as he agreed that we'd be there soon.

"What was that about?" I asked.

"Sam didn't say. Just said we needed to get there soon," he said. I rolled out of bed and got dressed in jeans and one of my new shirts.

"Please tell me Em made breakfast," I said, walking up behind Paul and wrapping my arms around him. I laid my cold cheek and nose against his warm back and giggled as he jumped, realizing the drastic temperature difference between us.

"She said she'd make pancakes just for you," he said, turning in my arms to face me. He wrapped his arms around me before talking again. "Babe, you're beautiful and all, but you might want to fix your hair, or what we did last night is going to be pretty obvious."

"Please attempt to control your thoughts around them," I said, feeling extremely insecure.

"I'll do my best," he said. I glared at him. "I'll do better than my best."

"Thanks," I said, kissing his cheek. I threw my hair up into a messy bun before we headed out the backdoor towards Emily's place.

As we walked onto Emily's property, Paul whistled to let them know we were here. Jared, Embry, and Quil met us out back, forming a line between us and the house.

"What did you two do last night?" Jared asked.

"That's none of your damn business," Paul said, glaring at the boy.

"She smells like you. You two did the deed," Quil shouted, holding out his hand to take the money Jared was passing to him.

"Back off, Quil," I hissed. He looked at me, and then back at Paul.

"She will kill you," Paul said. "And there's a good chance I won't stop her."

"So you two did it?" Embry asked. I walked up to him, and grabbed a hold of his ear and Quil's hair.

"What part of 'it's none of your damn business' did you two not understand?" I asked.

"Sorry," they both muttered before I let go of them and headed inside.

"We know what you two were doing last night," Sam said.

"You wanna start in on me too?" I asked, taking the plate of food from Emily as Paul got his own.

"There's this thing that happens with wolves the first time they do it with their imprint," Sam said. "The imprint begins to smell more and more like the wolf as the bond grows, but once they do it the imprint smells only of her wolf, and not of herself anymore. I mean, there are hints of her left, but her wolf's smell is dominant."

"You don't think that might have been important information to give me before hand?" I asked, looking between Sam and Emily. They both looked at Paul who was now sitting at the table.

"I knew I forgot something," he said. "I'm sorry babe."

"It fine," I sighed. I went and sat on his lap to finish eating.

"I swear to God, Lizzie, if you are pregnant," Morgan yelled walking into the house.

I slammed my hands down on the table and went and stood face to face with Embry. Paul didn't even bat an eyelid at my actions.

"Can't you keep your damn mouth shut?" I asked, crossing my arms.

"What?" He asked. "She wanted to know, and I knew she'd find out sooner or later."

"Paul, get your imprint before she snaps Embry's head off his shoulders," Sam said, ordering Paul to save his friend.

"Embry," I said calmly. "You will pay for that little stunt. I promise that."

Paul dragged me back to my seat to finish eating my breakfast. "What's wrong with you?" He whispered in my ear.

"I have no idea," I said. I was visibly shaking and angrier than I'd ever been. "I think it's just my anger."

"I've never seen you this angry before," he whispered, burying his face in my neck.

"I've never been this angry before," I said.

"What's it from?" He asked.

"We'll talk later," I said, not wanting the pack to hear it.

"Why are we here, Sam?" Quil asked as Seth and Leah finally made their way into the house.

"A nomad leech passed through last night. Got one of the widows down in Forks," he said.

I rolled my eyes, knowing that Paul would now have extra patrols. Sam started assigning patrols, but never mentioned Paul.

"And me?" Paul asked, not wanting to get in trouble.

"Keep Lizzie safe. Take her back to your place and spend the day with her," Sam said, much to Paul and I's relief.

Shortly after breakfast, we headed back to Paul's for the day before I had to go home and he had to go back to patrol.

"Babe what was wrong earlier?" He asked as we walked into his house.

"I guess I'm just scared that one of the guys is going to see me through your thoughts and like harrass me for the scars or something," I said.

"Why on Earth would you think that?" He asked. "They'll see you as a little sister now, and want to protect you more than anything. I promise you that they won't ever harrass you for the scars. Okay, babe?"

"Okay," I said, kissing his lips softly. He pulled me closer, deepening the kiss.

He pulled back, looking down at me with his troublemaker grin. "Round 2?"
