Chapter 26: The Aftermath
"Finally, you two came," said Madame Pomfrey as she walked over to us. She pushed us over to a table. There was a sink which she made us scrub the dried blood off us. It hurt to get it off my chin which had a massive, deep it in it. My arms were scratched up but they were already scanned and okay. I had a head wound from where the goblins ear had hit my head. A white bandage was put over it and and another was put on my chin which looked kind of ridiculous but Madame Pomfret insisted.
"Alright here both of you take a spoonful of these then go to bed. Everyone else is getting woken up at ten but I think you cans sleep till eleven or twelve," she said as she handed us two tiny cups each. One was a blood-replenishing potion and the other was a wound cleaning potion.
"Um, Madame Pomfrey do you think you could wake us up when you wake up everyone else?" I asked. She surveyed me for a moment before saying okay.
"But I forbid any talk of what happened last night. It'll only stress you all and that will not be good," she said as she rushed us to our beds. Once she was out of the room and I was very tired I said through a yawn to Harry,
"You know, I'm sure Sirius Mum and Dad are having a good laugh right now catching up and looking down on us... Proud," I said confidently.
"You know Liza, I think your right," a small smile formed on his mouth. And with that I drifted into a sleep. I dreamed of my dad and Sirius talking calmly together after years of being apart. It was different since I thought I would have nightmares.
---------------------------10--------------------------
"Everyone up," shouted Madame Pomfreys voice. I looked up and it took me a moment to realize I was in the hospital wing. I was tired and had a pounding headache but above all else my left wrist was hurting. There was a white curtain surrounding seven beds full of injured students.
"Hello," I said happily to the other end of the room.
"Come on, all of you will have a individual check up," suddenly pain struck in my left wrist so much that I winced in pain.
"I'm going to the bathroom," I said and I walked out of the curtain and slipped on my converse high tops in black at the corner of the hospital wing. I ran towards Dumbledores office holding my wrist. Once I got there I entered immediately. The headmaster sat at his desk.
"Miss Potter what's wrong?" He asked looking at me
"Professor," I breathed in pain. "My wrist," I held it out for him to see. I saw that it was pink and inflamed as if it had just been scratched.
"Oh," said Dumbledore sounding concerned.
My wrist pulsed once more. I gasped in pain. Dumbledore was still holding my worst looking at it.
"Eliza, the dark mark is growing on your arm don't-"
"What?!" I screamed.
"It seems that Voldemort has reassigned it to you though Ellie," said Dumbledore.
"Well what do I do? I can't have the mark of death eaters on my wrist!" I screamed once more in pain as I felt something surface on my wrist.
"Calm down Elizabeth, do not panic," he said as I winced again.
"Professor there had to be something I can do," I said in pain.
"It's almost over Elizabeth just calm down," pain shot through my whole body and at last Dumbledore glanced at me and then my wrist. I looked at it. Sure enough on my wrist there was the dark mark... But it was not black like the death eaters... Instead it was like a scar that stick out of my skin about half a centimeter.
"There... It's over," said Dumbkdroe gently patting my wrist. "Have Madame Pomfrey give you something for it and I suggest you get back soon," said Dumbledore.
"Professor, I can't have this," I said exasperatedly.
"Eliza, you will be fine. If it starts to burn at all do not touch it ever. I don't know what it can do as a scar. Be careful and go get some sleep... You will be alright," he said calmly.
I looked at my wrist and sure enough it started to burn slightly. I didn't touch it and walked of of Dumbledores office back to the hospital wing.
"You okay?" Asked Harry.
"Fine," I lied as I sat back on my bed.
" Elizabeth I need to check if your okay," said Madame Pomfrey.
"Um I'm fine," I said scratching my wrist slightly.
"Well I have to check," she said. I reluctantly got off the bed and walked out of the curtain.
"You look okay but I will be keeping you for a few days along with everyone else. You all got beat up pretty bad. Anything you request?" I remembered what Dumbledore said.
"Um actually Dumbledore told me you could um- help me with this," I showed her my left arm. She gasped but when she saw it was a scar just muttered.
"What happened to give you that?" As she did in a cupboard for something.
"I don't know but please Madame Pomfrey don't let anyone know I'm not a death eater, it's just a scar from the fight," I said she nodded as she pulled out a small tub of something. She took something out of it and then put it into a smaller bottle.
"Here Eliza, take this and put it on the scar once as you wake up and once before bed. Then when we you can feel if," she said as she handed me the small container. I nodded and walked back into the curtain.
Everyone was in their own bed looking pretty neat up. I walked to my own and sat down on the side of it again. It stung but was not burning so I put some of the lotion that I was given on it.
"What are you doing Liza?" Asked Harry.
"Harry, a word, at once Hermione and a sore Ron got up and followed me out of the white curtain and across the room. Madame Pomfrey was away. I hesitated before pulling up my sleeve. Hermione gasped.
"Where the ruddy hell did you get that?" Asked Ron.
"A few minutes ago... I don't know, Dumbledore said that it had to do with my connection with you-know-who," I said winking at Harry. He nodded.
Ron was covered in little marks that looked like suction cups from the tentacles. They were all over him. Hermione looked pale but mainly unharmed. She was bruised a bit from us putting her on the ground. Harry looked about the same as me.
"I don't know what to do," I said desperately.
"What did Dumbledore say?" Asked Hermione.
"Just to not touch it if it burns and put what She gave me on it," I said.
"Okay, well do that and... Don't let people see it," said Harry.
I sighed as we ran back through the curtain as Madame Pomfrey started through the hallway. We all gathered around the three beds that Neville and Ginny sat on.
"What was that about?" Asked Ginny. Her leg was in a cast and she had a few scratches on her face and arms but other than that looked okay.
"I was... To scared to go to the bathroom alone," said Hermione.
"Ohhhhkay,"said Ginny suspiciously at us.
"What happened to you guys?" Asked Ginny.
I looked at Harry who looked back. I shrugged then told everyone a few things about what had happened.
"Well as Neville can tell you Sirius.... Died," I began with a sigh as I sat on the end of Ginny's bed. Harry sat on the opposite side of me. I co weed my wrist with my sleeve. Harry and Hermione sat on Hermiones bed next to Ginny's facing us.
"We chased after Bellatrix. She had tried to torture Neville before the members of the Order showed up in the room with the archway. Neville put up the fight of a real hero." I said smiling at him.
"When they came in They yelled at us to leave the room. We got attacked a few more times-" I heard Madame Pomfrey outside of the curtain and everyone ran to their own beds as she poked her head in.
"So, um what are we going to do about classes?" Asked Ginny to Madame Pomfrey as she poked her head in.
"You bunch most likely won't be going to anymore of those... Though I doubt you'll mind. And about the curtain.. People were trying to look at all of you in here so I decided instead of giving you all separate ones to give you one big one," she then left again. Neville checked if she was gone before giving us a thumbs u land we all went back to how we were before.
"So, what happened next?" Asked Ron.
"The Order burst on and started fighting. That told us to leave the room. But we got a attacked a few more times for the prophecy and Neville got some weird dancing jig put on him. He couldn't control his legs," I said and trailed off.
"Then, we started to help Neville up the stairs," said Harry.
"Dumbledore showed up as we were near the top of the stairs. The prophecy smashed when I dropped it. No one seemed to notice," said Neville quietly.
"The prophecy broke?" Asked Hermione.
I nodded and then started to explain more."We swathed at the top of the stairs for a while more and Sirius began to duel Bellatrix. Dumbledore arrived and we thought we were safe. So we stayed in the same spot for a while. Then... We saw Bellatrix hit Sirius with a spell... He- he fell into the veil... You were right Hermione. It wasn't a normal veil, Sirius... Sirius... S-Sirius died and vanished laughing," Bellatrix laughed as Dumbledore revealed himself and hoarded together the death eaters that he could in the center of the room with some weird spell," I said quickly.
"Wait, Sirius is dead?" Asked Ron Hermione and Ginny in almost unison. I nodded solemnly.
"Oh my," said Hermione as she covered her mouth with her hand in shock.
"But that's not all," I said. "Lupin grabbed Harry and Neville grabbed my arms so we wouldn't run after him as we both almost did. Lupin put Nevilles legs back and then Harry darted after Bellatrix as she ran up the stairs. I.. ran after them. We battled for a while and then Voldemort appeared," I said recalling what had happened just hours before.
"In the ministry?" Asked Ginny in shock.
"Yes.. We hid behind a statue and then Dumbledore dueled him... We were trapped behind a golden statue. Fudge appeared and Dumbledore sent us back to his office by portkey," I said not mentioned any details.
"Wow," said Ron.
"I-I can't believe he's gone," said Hermione as a tear came from her eye but she quickly wiped it away.
"He... He died a heros death. Just the way he would have wanted to I'm sure-" I said as my voice cracked slightly. Harry grabbed my hand supportively. I squeezed his back gently.
The rest of the day we were sworn to bed rest. The next day we were told we could leave the room once in between meal times if we wanted to. Everyone tried to tell me not Tobit I was on a mission. I got changed into a comfortable outfit as did the rest of us. We all just sort of lounged around together all day in pajamas or extent of comfy clothes having a good time and in moderate to severe pain.
I left the hospital wing at about 10:30AM on Saturday wearing a extremely casual outfit that I had chosen earlier. It consisted of a white v neck shirt with a navy blue loose fitting sweater that covered my arms and some leggings.
Once I made it outside the great hall I avoided the states and questions that shot at me as the occasional people walked by and I waited until finally, down towards the staircase I spotted who I was look for. Draco Malfoy was walking alone surprisingly. I marched over to him.
"Do you have one?" I screamed.
"What Elizabeth?" He asked.
"YOUR PARENTS WERE THERE- THEY WERE THERE YOUR AUNT KILLED THE CLOSEST FAMILY I HAVE EXCEPT FOR HARRY AND ITS ALL BECAUSE OF HIM SO YOU HAVE ONE?" I screamed. Draco shushed me and we walked towards a place more secluded.
"You were there?" He asked nervously.
" I was there? Yes, Draco I was bloody there. What did you expect me to just wait around as all my friends went to rescue someone who wasn't there?" I said angrily.
"Okay, calm down. What are you asking me and yelling at me for?" Asked Draco.
"Are you kidding me right now? Are you one of them... I mean your parents are so you are aren't you Malfoy?" I said poking him on the chest.
"Okay," sighed Draco. "Yes, my parents are death eaters but still they had nothing to do with the death of Sirius," he said.
"Do you agree with what they do?" I asked.
"What?"
"Do you agree with what they do?" I said again.
"I- uh- I don't know Elizabeth," said Malfoy wth another sigh.
"Your actually questioning it?" I said raising my voice.
Suddenly someone walked up beside Draco and me.
"Well, well, well, what might you two be doing here yelling from what I hear?" Said Snape.
"Draco, go back to your dormitory and Miss Potter I believe you've had quite enough adventure and are sustained to the hospital wing-" said Snape towards me.
"I'm allowed out for a hour-" I said.
"Yes, but not to yell at other students I believe, now go back to the hospital... Before I get Madame Pomfrey and make her give you more sleeping serum go!" He said. I angrily walked away from them and purposely walked into Dracos shoulder.
More people stared at me as I made my way back up to the hospital wing. I ignored them and scratched my left wrist madly.
When I got back I tried to act calm but it did no good everyone in the curtain room stared at me with great interest.
"What happened to you?" Asked Ginny.
"Malfoy and Snape," I said angrily.
"Oh," Harry rolled his eyes.
-------------------------------------------------------
The days went by slowly in the hospital wing but Madame Pomfrey insisted that we stay another day. No one left out little room unless they were going to the bathroom anymore because starting and questions were overwhelming.
HE-WHO-MUST-NOT-BE-NAMED RETURNS
In a brief statement Friday night, Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge confirmed that He-Who-Must-Not-Be Named has returned to this country and is active once more.
"It is with great regret that I must confirm that the wizard styling himself Lord — well, you know who I mean — is alive and among us again," said Fudge, looking tired and flustered as he addressed reporters. "It is with almost equal regret that we report the mass revolt of the dementors of Azkaban, who have shown themselves averse to continuing in the Ministry's employ. We believe that the dementors are currently taking direction from Lord — Thingy.
"We urge the magical population to remain vigilant. The Ministry is currently publishing guides to elementary home and personal defense that will be delivered free to all Wizarding homes within the coming month."
The Minister's statement was met with dismay and alarm from the Wizarding community, which as recently as last Wednesday was receiving Ministry assurances that there was "no truth whatsoever in these persistent rumors that You-Know-Who is operating amongst us once more."
Details of the events that led to the Ministry turnaround are still hazy, though it is believed that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and a select band of followers (known as Death Eaters) gained entry to the Ministry of Magic itself on Thursday evening.
Albus Dumbledore, newly reinstated headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, reinstated member of the International Confederation of Wizards, and reinstated Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot, was unavailable for comment last night. He has insisted for a year that You-Know-Who was not dead, as was widely hoped and believed, but recruiting followers once more for a fresh attempt to seize power. Meanwhile the Boy Who Lived-
"Well, there you are, Harry, I knew they'd drag you into it somehow," said Hermione as she closed the newspaper in Sunday morning. We all sat on Ginny and Hermione's beds again. Luna was on her bed reading the latest copy of The Quibbler upside down as normal.
"He's 'The Boy Who Lived' now, not some show-off maniac?" Said Ron darkly as he ate a chocolate frog from a large pile he threw one to all of us. Madame Pomfrey was giving us large doses of Dr. Ubblys Oblivious Unction to us all but mostly to Ron and myself. She said that thoughts can leave more problems than scars. Ron needed it because of how his brain had been affected fro the spell that made him go loopy that night in the Ministry. She gave it to me so that I wouldn't have a panic attack.
"Yes, they're very complimentary about you now, Harry," said Hermione, now scanning down the article. " 'A lone voice of truth ... perceived as unbalanced, yet never wavered in his story ... forced to bear ridicule and slander ...' Hmmm," said Hermione, frowning, "I notice they don't mention the fact that it was them doing all the ridiculing and slandering, though..."
"Ridiculous, have the mentioned about Sirius or about who the Death eaters were yet?" I asked.
Hermione winced slightly and put her hand to ribs. She was on at least ten different potions and improving greatly. Everyone was already bored with the hospital wing. Hermione tossed the newspaper to the side. Then, after wincing again as she sat up straighter, she sighed.
"I wonder what's going on around school?" Asked Hermione.
"Flittwick made Fred and Georges swamp smaller and roped off s tiny bit," said Ginny.
"I think it's sort of a monument to Fred and George. They sent me these Chocolate Frogs you know? Must be doing all right with the joke shop then," said Ron unwrapping another chocolate frog.
"Who's Divination teacher now that Firenze and Professor Trewlaney are both back?" Asked Hermione.
"Their splitting classes," said Neville.
"It's a pity the prophecy broke," said Hermione shaking her head. I looked at Harry who looked s little nervous. He hadn't told anyone what Dumbledore had told him about the prophecy or about me.
Harry suddenly got up.
"Where you going?" Asked Hermione.
"Er- Hagrids I be been meaning to see him since we got back," said Harry nervously.
"Oh tell him hi from us! And ask him what he's going to dos out his- little friend," said Hermione happily. After Harry went beyond the curtain I went after him slowly. Not many people were in the castle. Most were outside messing around on the Quidditch pitch or swimming in the lake with the giant squid. Since it was the last few days of term there was no homework for people to do and people were enjoying their weekend outside in the sun shine.
"Your going to pay. I'm going to make you pay for my father," rang Draco Malfoys voice toward at the bottom of the staircase where Harry had just gone. I quickly hurried down the stairs.
"Oh, I'm terrified now," mocked Harry towards Draco and his gang.
"Shut up Malfoy," I sneered as I got to the step next to Harry.
"You think your such a big man, Potter. You wait- I'll have you, you can land my father in prison," Draco said. I rolled my eyes.
"I thought I just had," said Harry.
"The dementors have left Azkaban... Dad and the others will be out in no time," he said.
"Yeah, I expect they will," I said.
"But at least everyone now knows what scumbags they are," said Harry. I scratched my left wrist again and then held it.
"What's wrong with your wrist?" Asked Draco. I held it and my eyes went slightly wide. I realized that I wasn't wearing long sleeves to cover my scar with. I was wearing a short sleeved burgundy flowy shirt.
"N-nothing I stammered grasping my w rust tighter. He grabbed my wrist and I tried to pull my arm away as he looked at it his eyes went wide.
"Have a good day.... Ellie," he said quietly. I panicked. He knew about Ellie, of course he did his father knew her. I was in such a panic that I literally walked backwards towards the railing of the staircase in shock.
"You'll pay for that one Malfoy," said Harry grabbing his wand. Draco was reaching for his in his pocket.
"Potter!" Rang a cold voice across the hall.
"What are you doing Potter," said Snape as he walked to meet where Harry and Draco were staring at eachother.
"Trying to decided what curse to use on, Malfoy, Sir," Harry said fiercely still staring at Draco with his wand drawn.
"Potter put the wand away-" said Snape coldly.
"Ten points from Gryff- oh wait there's no pints to take away," said Snape. It was true there were no rubies in the bottom of the hourglass. I sighed. "In that case we will simply have to-" said Snape.
"Add some more-" said Professor Mcgonagal hobbling over leaning against a walking stick.
"Professor Mcgonagal, out of st. Mungos, I see?" Said Snape.
"Yes, Professor Snap I'm quite as good as new. You two- Crabbe - Goyle, take these to my classroom will you," said Mcgonagal as she thrust a carpet bag and traveling cloak into their arms. They went away at once.
"Right then, well I think Potter and his fried a and sited deserve fifty pojnts a piece for warning the world of you-know-who's return, don't you?" She said.
"What- oh well, I suppose-" said Snape.
"Alright well that's two Potters, two Weasleys, Longbottom, Miss Granger," as she said this a shower of rubies fell into the hourglass. "Oh and fifty for miss Lovegood I suppose," a number of sapphires fell into Ravenclaws hourglass. "Now, you wanted to take ten from Mr.Potter so -" said Mcgonagal as a few rubies went back into the top of the hourglass.
"Well Potters, Malfoy I think you might want to be outside on a glorious day like this," said Mcgonagal.
"Draco come with me-" said Snape. Draco went over to Snape and he began in a whisper "Potter is Ellie," Snape nodded curtly and looked back at me for a while. I was hiding my wrist tightly again. We went right outside.
"That was... Interesting," I said slowly as we made our way outside.
"Yep," said Harry. We walked to Hagrids across the lawn and towards his hit at the edge of the forest. Harry knocked on the door but there was no answer.
"Hmm.. I wonder where Hagrid is? He should be back now," I began but just then fang the dog came running at me and behind him was Hagrid.
"All right, Potters!" He beamed as he came around from his garden fence. "Come in, come in, we can have a cup of dandelion juice," he said as we followed him into his tiny hut.
"You- Er- feeling all right?" Asked Hagrid as he poured us two mugs of some murky looking water that turned out to be dandelion juice. It tasted like a weird lemonade.
"We're fine," answered Harry.
"So, where were you?" I asked.
"I've been hiding up in a cave like Sirius did when he-" he broke off suddenly and we both knew why. "Anyway, back now-" he said gruffly.
"You — you look better," said Harry obviously trying to steer the conversation away from Sirius.
"What?" said Hagrid, raising a hand and feeling his face. "Oh — oh yeah. Well, Grawpy's loads better behaved now, loads. Seemed right pleased to see me when I got back, to tell you the truth. He's a good lad, really... I've been thinkin' about trying to find him a lady friend, actually..." I nodded taking a sip of the dandelion juice.
Everyone knows you've been telling the truth now, Harry," said Hagrid softly and unexpectedly. "That's gotta be better, hasn't it?" Harry shrugged.
"Look ..." Hagrid leaned toward him across the table, "I knew Sirius longer than you did... He died in battle, and that's the way he'd've wanted to go —"
"He didn't want to go at all!" said Harry angrily.Hagrid bowed his head slightly.
"Nah, I don't reckon he did," he said quietly. "But still, Harry ... he was never one to sit around at home and let other people do the fighting. He couldn't have lived with himself if he hadn't gone to help —"Harry leapt up again.
"I've got to go and visit Ron and Hermione in the hospital wing," he said mechanically.
"Oh," said Hagrid, looking rather upset. "Oh ... all right then, Harry ... Take care of yourself then, and drop back in if you've got a moment..."
"Yeah ... right ..." Harry quickly left the hut. I jumped up after him.
"I'm sorry Hagrid he's been like this since Sirius, he didn't mean anything by it," I left after.
As I walked across the school grounds looking for Harry in the sunshine people called after me. I ignored them and walked towards the forbidden forest. It was one of the few places I least expected Harry but I went in anyway. I walked on the place for about ten minutes until I finally saw something on a tree a tiny bit off the path. I walked towards it hesitantly. It ended up being a old wooden swing held up by white ropes. I sat on it and swung a tiny bit.
My mind wandered for a while I thought about all that Dumbledore had told me about Ellie or I guess... Me. Suddenly a extremely upsetting feeling filled the pit of my stomach. I had a piece of Voldmorts soul in me... It was half of my soul... Or it empowered my soul. I looked at my left wrist. The dark mark was just a white scar that I had to hide constantly. Then a terrible thought occurred to me... What if Draco told people what he'd seen? I brushed the thought away and got off the swing. A noise behind me made me fill with panic.
I slowly turned towards the swing and looked behind it.
"Who's there?" I asked. There was no answer but the rustle of trees. I walked out of the forest quickly. And then across the lawn till I found Harry under the old oak tree staring at the lake.
"Harry," I said sitting down besides him.
"You can't flip out on people every time someone mentions Sirius-" I started.
"Eliza-" he started.
"No, Harry Hagrid is really upset about it. Now, I know your upset about what happened to him and believe me so am I- and before you say it I know that Sirius wasn't my godfather or I didn't have a relationship with him like you did but I'm still upset about him," I said.
"That's not why I'm getting frustrated with people-" Harry said quietly.
"Then why?" I asked quietly.
"W-what Dumbledore said about the prophecy... It's a lot to take on Liza," he said sadly.
"At least your still Harry I'm now Ellie Welther," I said in a mumble. Harry smiled slightly.
"Should we go back to the hospital wing, Madame Pomfrey said she may be letting us out today," I said excitedly.
"Let's go," said Harry.
It was dark when we got back inside freezing cold.
-------------------------------------------------------
We all didn't end up getting out of the hospital wing until three days before the end of term. Professor Umbridge left the school the day before the last day of term. She tried to sneak off during dinner but Peeves caught her in the hall and chased her down the path with a walking stick and sock. Students watched from the hall.
When the last evening of school started most people were done packing but both Harry and me hadn't started. In fact Harry and I sat in his dorm silently on his bed. Most people had started to the end of term feast.
"Harry..." I started several times before continuing finally. "Harry should we start packing?" I said knowing we should've been done. I sat with my hands between my knees extremely stiff with my school robe lain next to me on Harry's bed. Harry sat on the opposite corner of his bed. Harry just sighed and rubbed his forehead.
Suddenly Ron burst into the room.
"Oh, just pack tomorrow, come on , I'm starving..." He said.
"You go on ahead... We will be down in a minute," said Harry.
When Ron closed the door behind him I whispered:
"You know, I really don't want to go to the feast this year-"
"I'd prefer not to either," said Harry.
We sank down beside Harry's school trunk and began to move old crumpled robes and make room for folded ones when I noticed a badly wrapped package at the bottom.
"Harry," I said handing him the package. He examined it for a minute.
"S-Sirius had given it to me back at Grimmuland," he choked out. "He said to use it if you ever need me," Harry unwrapped the package and a small mirror fell out.
Harry whispered Sirius and when nothing happened he threw the mirror into the bottom of his trunk.
"Harry," I shouted.
Harry threw his things into his trunk and then sprinted out of the room. I knew what he was going to do, he was going to talk to the ghosts and see if Sirius could be a ghost. I knew better, your only a ghost if you fear death... Sirius definitely did not. I put a few more things into Harry's trunk neatly before picking up a piece of the shattered mirror and examining it in my hand. I smiled slightly at the sight of it. Sirius had wrapped this for Harry to use and talk to him.
On the way towards the feast wearing my robes I saw Luna and I walked over to her again.
"Did people hide type things again?" I asked as she posted a flier.
"Yes, but they always turn up," she said mystically. Then Harry came up behind us. I did not listen to to their conversation I did however hear at the end of it Luna saying:
"The things we lose have a way of coming back to u in the end, if not always in the way we expect," and with them at we found a pair of Luna's missing sneakers. We asked her if she wanted to join us back to the feast but she just said no and something about hoping their would be pudding.
"She may not be the most normal or cool person but she has her strongpoints," I said to Harry as we made our way to the Great Hall. Harry nodded with a slight smile. The feast was delicious and we enjoyed it with Hermione Ron and Ginny. Everybody was happy and smiling. Dumbledore gave his normal warnings about not using magic out of school and we went to bed.
I stayed up most of the night dreading going back to the Dursleys but when I did fall asleep I dreamt of my mum and dad and Sirius having a coffee together as almost ghosts at Kings Cross Station.
The next morning I packed up my things and we loaded onto the Hogwarts Express. I walked into the compartment with all of my best friends. Hermione was reading the Daily Prophet, Ginny was doing a quiz in The Quibbler, Neville was stroking his Mimbulus mimbletonia, Harry and Ron rode out the journey playing Wizards chess and I watched listening to Hermione as she read out snippets of the Daily Prophet.
"It hasn't really started yet, has it," hermione sighed folding the Daily Prophet.
"I've stopped going out with Michael," Ginny told me.
"Oh good, just choose someone... Better next time," said Ron.
"Well, I've chosen Dean Thomas, would you say he's better?" Said Ginny vaguely.
"What?" Ron bellowed.
I laughed with Neville Harry and Hermione.
When we got back to Kings Cross Statikn we crossed the platform 9 3/4 and into the muggle world. But there was a surprise standing there in front of us... Mad-Eye, Tonks, Lupin, and in front Mr. And Mrs. Weasley, and Fred and George. I smiled at them all,
"What are you all doing here?" I asked towards everyone but the Weasleys.
"Oh, Ginny and Ron," said Mrs. Weasley as she ran over and hugged both of them. "Oh Harry and Eliza dear how are you?" She asked pulling us into the hug.
"Fine," said Harry.
"Wonderful, how are you Mrs. Weasley?" I said.
"Fine,fine," she said happily.
"Hello, Harry," said Lupin.
"Professor Lupin!" I said happily walking over to him.
"Hi... I don't expect- what are all of you doing here?" Said Harry.
"Well... We thought we might have a small chat with you aunt and uncle before we leave you with them for the summer," said Lupin with a slight smile. I looked at Harry nervously.
"I don't know if that's a good idea," said Harry.
"Oh, I think it is," said Moody. "That will be them won't it?" He said pointing at them.
"Ah, the Potters," said Mr. Weasley. "Well, shall we do it then," he said turning with the rest of everyone. "Yes I think we should," said Moody. Although I was nervous about it I couldn't help but smile and laugh about it.
"Good Afternoon, you might remember me, I'm Arthur Weasley," said Mr. Weasley pleasantly right in front of Uncle Vernon.
"We thought we'd have a few words with you about these two," said Mr. Weasley pointing towards us. I felt my face turn pink.
"Yes and how they're treated while at your place," continued Moody.
"I am not aware that it is any of your Business what goes on in my house-"
"I'm aware that I could fill seven books with what your unaware of-" started Moody angrily.
"Um Moody," I said quietly. He calmed down a bit.
"Anyway, that's not the point," interjected Tonks with bright pink hair. "The point is if we find out you've been terrible to Eliza or Harry,"
"Which we will find out," added Lupin pleasantly.
"Yes, even if you won't let them near that fellytone," said Mr. Weasley.
"Telephone," whispered Hermione.
"Yeah, if we get a hint that these Potters have been mistreated in any way, you'll have us to answer to," said Moody.
"Is that a threat?" Growled Uncle Vernon.
"Yes it is," said Moody.
"Do I look like the kind of man that can be intimidated?" Barked Vernon.
"Well... Yes, I'd have to say you do," said Moody now revealing his magical eye.
"So, Potter send us a shout if you need us, we will send someone along if we don't hear from you three days in a row," moody said.
"Bye then Potters," said Moody walking away from us.
"Keep in touch," said Lupin. He shook Harry's hand but I hugged him and whispered thank you to him.
