Chapter 3: Hogwarts Express
"Oh, do be safe you two-" fretted Mrs Weasley as she hugged Ginny and I for the hundredth time on September 1st as we got ready to leave for Hogwarts on the train.
"Mum, we've told you we will be fine. Right Liza?" Said Ginny. She was trying to sound confident but it was honestly a very scary time.
"Right. Thanks again Mrs Weasley. We will be back for Christmas as discussed." I declared.
"Alright. Goodbye!" Mrs Weasley said. Mr Weasley waved to us again. We had said goodbye a few minutes ago.
"Ready?" I asked Ginny as we boarded the train.
"Ready as I'll ever be." Ginny replied with a small sigh. We walked onto the train, then down the corridor until we found a compartment with Neville Longbottom and Luna Lovegood.
"Oh, hello." greeted Luna dreamily.
"Hi Luna." I said as Ginny and I put our luggage on the racks in our compartment.
"Eliza! Ginny! I didn't know you guys were going to be able to come. Are Harry, Ron, and Hermione coming? Or are the Daily Prophet rumors true?" Neville asked excitedly. Ginny sat beside Neville and I beside Luna.
"They left. They were left a... job to do." I said a bit sadly.
"Oh... Well, how do you guys think this year is gonna be?" He asked.
"Oh don't get me started." Ginny answered, rubbing her forehead.
"I think it will be a adventure." Luna said happily.
"Three words," I said. "Show. No. Mercy." everyone nodded along.
"And Snape is headmaster,." Ginny said. It was my turn to nod now.
"Don't remind me." I grumbled.
After a few minutes of traveling on the train I felt a sudden burst of heat in my body. Then I went complexly cold. I felt like I was choking and extremely dizzy. Everything around me began to blur together.
"Eliza!" Voices shouted around me in unison as I slumped down.
I dreamed back to a few years ago at the last event of the Triwizard Tournament. I dreamed of me sitting in the bleachers next to Ron and Hermione anxiously looking at the foggy maze and suddenly visualizing myself in a graveyard. I could see myself in the bleachers and I could see two people I did not want to see in the dark and misty graveyard.
Cedric Diggory was covered in dirt talking with Harry. Harry doubled over grasping his scar. I willed myself out of the vision and managed to grasp the bench I was sitting on in the present.
A fire suddenly shot up underneath a cauldron in the graveyard. I tried to shout for help but couldn't will myself to do it. I felt my body in the present time flinching madly.
"Kill the spare!" A chilling voice commanded.
"Avada Kedavra!" another shouted. A beam of light hit Cedric Diggory in the chest. I somehow got back into the bleachers of the tournament for a few seconds and a few tears fell down my face.
Then I was back in the graveyard. Harry was pinned up in a gravestone. Peter Pettigrew took a knife and cut Harry's skin. I was back in the bleachers trying to get my eyes to open long enough to tell someone but couldn't. Finally I saw the duel between Voldemort and Harry when Cedric told Harry to take his body back and my parents appeared as ghosts to help him.
I was then fully in the bleachers of the past. Harry appeared at the edge of the the maze clutching Cedric. I looked down as Harry let out a anguished cry.
"No!" I choked as tears streamed down my face. Hermione and everyone in the bleachers cheered as I pushed my way down the center aisle towards Harry.
I couldn't speak as people tried to make me stay in my seat. Harry continued convulsively sobbing as people started realizing what was happening.
"Cedric!" I shouted collapsing on the stairs in tears.
The dream changed. It was just before fourth year when I had watched Harry and Dudley fighting at the park.
"Don't kill Cedric," Dudley mocked. "Who's Cedric? Your boyfriend?"
The dream changed again. I saw Harry, Hermione, and Ron saying things on a sidewalk. They were dressed quite nicely. I couldn't tell what but they seemed to be in a rush.
I suddenly woke up feeling extremely cold.
"Eliza, are you all right?" Ginny asked looking worried.
I shook my head as my body struggled to sit up.
It was very bad timing. Three black hooded figures came inside bringing a wave of ice cold air with them. I yanked out my wand unsteadily.
"Expecto Patronum!" I shouted while standing up. The three dementors were shot away from the compartment and out the door.
"Liza, are you okay?" Ginny asked again as I shivered unsteadily and lowered my wand. She passed me a gray jacket that smelled lightly of cologne. I quickly put it on as two people came into the door.
"In here!" shouted one. I was growing annoyed at all the disturbances. I just wanted to be alone with my friends.
"Sit!" Ginny commanded, pushing me down onto the bench. As the last of the fog the dementors had caused cleared away two people I recognized stood in the doorway.
Alecto and Amycus Carrow. And so it began...
"Four in here." shouted Amycus.
"What are your names..." Amycus stopped talking and turned to me.
"Well if it isn't the little Potter girl... Come with me." he demanded. Amycus grabbed me forcibly by my arm and I unsteadily stood up.
"I'll get her. You take care of the rest," Amycus said as he started walking towards the door with me. I was struggling with him. It was no use though, I was already too weak from casting a patronus charm and having a vision.
"Eliza!" Shouted Ginny and Neville and Luna in chorus.
"I'll be fine." I waved them off. I honestly had a plan... I just hoped t would work.
"Let me go." I fought against Amycus as he dragged me down the hall. Kids pressed their faces against the window and watched as I was forced into the last train compartment. It was empty. I landed roughly on the bench.
"What do you want?" I asked irritated as Amycus shut the door.
"Where is Potter?" Asked Amycus facing me.
"Which one?" I asked with a fake smile on my face while looking at the man sassily.
"Where is Harry Potter?" Amycus demanded of me to answer.
"My brother is somewhere. I don't exactly know but even if I did I wouldn't tell you so really you pulling me away from those people is only making it less likely for me to talk to you." I gushed, crossing my arms over my chest.
"Lies!" Amycus shouted. "You know where the Potter boy is."
"Actually I don't, have a clue-" I was interrupted.
"I will make you tell me!" Amycus threatened. He pulled out his wand and pointed it towards me.
"You can try but you'll get nothing-"
"Crucio!" Interrupted Anycus. Pain shot through my body and I struggled not to scream. It was the pain that Ellie/I had been accustomed to through Voldemort. The pain was as if millions of hot sharp knives were cutting into my body. Whether it lasted for minutes or hours I couldn't tell you. It did end eventually though. Sweat was on my face and I could feel my body struggling to work properly.
"Change your mind about knowing where your brother is, Ellie?" Amycus asked me viciously. I looked up at him panting.
"As I said earlier- I don't know where Harry is... And it may have escaped your notice but I'm used to that by now. It won't do... It won't do you any good," I said out of breath. My full body felt like I had pins and needles made of lava.
"Really?" Sneered Amycus. He looked at me evilly and I had a couple of ideas as to what would happen next.
"Imperio!" He shouted. It took all the power in my body to resist this curse but it worked. My brain willed me to speak and do what the magic was trying to make me...
"N-nice... T-tr-try," I said. I tapped my foot rapidly against the floor, trying to resist.
The curse went off of me. I felt something warm and wet dripping down my face most likely from it. I was still out of breath.
"You may be able to get away this time Ellie Welther- Eliza Potter but you might not be so lucky next time." Amycus warmed. He pointed his wand at the door to the compartment and it blasted open. I rushed out the door and down the corridor.
Faces pressed against the window again as I passed. I tried to ignore them and wipe some of the blood off of me but it wasn't working very well. It was nice to know that no one was helping me... really made me feel good about myself.
As I approached the compartment Ginny Neville and Luna were in I tapped the place on my forehead where the source of the mess was coming from. On my hand I saw blood and I sighed deeply. That would hurt in the morning. My body was still aching deeply and I felt completely drained as I opened up the sliding glass door to the compartment in the train. Three sets of eyes all turned to me. I forced a small smile on my face. Even that hurt.
"What happened?" Ginny asked as she looked at my face.
"Are you okay?" Neville chimed eagerly.
"There's blood on your face." Luna stated in the same airy voice she always had.
"It's going to be a very long year." I guaranteed closing the compartment door behind me and sliding onto a seat.
