8- Strings of fate [Namjin/Royalty au/Forced/Mature]
The Kingdom of Freesia was a symbol of embodiment, trust and values. Named after the flower, Freesia, which symbolizes unconditional love and honour, the people there lived in harmony and abided by the rules of equality, despite the difference in their ranks.
The King was an ardent supporter of equality, and thus, he trained both his sons equally, regardless of one of them being a beautiful Omega and the other being a handsome Alpha. He loved both of them equally and was never partial towards any one of them.
The childhood of the princes flew by, both of them being rigorously trained in royal studies, sword training, poetry and a lot more. The princes grew up with kindness, chivalry, bravery and love. As time passed by, the princes were at the age of marriage, making the King spin through a mix of emotions- happiness and joy as well as worry.
The people of the kingdom were more than happy seeing the princes at their marital age. Nothing would bring them more joy than seeing their Alpha Prince Taehyung ruling the kingdom with equality and morals, and seeing their Omega Prince Seokjin getting married to a noble prince, who would savour the bravery and kindness of the young prince.
This led to the King searching for a qualified groom for his beloved sons. Therefore, it wouldn't have been mere delight when he found out that the ruler of the Kingdom of Aconite was looking for a queen for his prestigious throne as well.
The Kingdom of Aconite was a rather different place. It was one of the most powerful kingdoms. It was named after a flower too - Aconite, which had a rather negative meaning. It meant hatred and betrayal.
But the King begged to differ, he named the place as such because he was bound to change the meaning of the flower. He had belief in his power to rule the kingdom. The Kingdom was a peaceful place and the people loved their King, more than anything, for he was not only wise but also a man of morals.
The flower Aconite did leave its negative meaning and found a new meaning in the Kingdom. The King had succeeded in bringing the flower a new meaning, as now it proudly swayed in the gardens of the castle.
After the findings of such a beautiful land, the king immediately asked for the attention of his dear son, Seokjin, for he had found him a groom.

The sweet smell of lavender spread across the hallways as Prince Seokjin made his way to his father's chambers. He had been called to discuss some very 'important business', at least that's what he was informed.
He took light and quick steps to his parents' room. He slightly knocked on the door, and soon the door was wide open for him to enter. He was greeted with the familiar scent of wood, pine and lillies.
He gracefully made his way to where his father and mother were seated along with his brother. He slightly bowed to his parents.
"You sent for me, father?" He asked, as the King smiled looking at him.
"Yes I did." His father said, "Come here, my son." He said, motioning the prince to take a seat beside him. The prince politely smiled before making his way to sit beside his father.
"I know you are smart enough to figure out why I have called you. As you have just reached your marital age, I want to have you married to a King, who is not only known for his astonishing looks, but also for his valour and morals." The King said.
The Prince nodded, indicating for his father to continue. The King smiled. "I have come across a beautiful land and even more beautiful people. The King there has just started his time of ruling, but has immediately prospered across the globe. 'He is a man of bravery'- this is what I have heard from all my representative states. I want to have you married to him, so that our Kingdom can have a strong ally and a qualified partner for you." The King said.
The Prince nodded before saying, "I would be honored to have such a husband, who can not only provide for me and his Kingdom, but can also be a strong ally for us." The King smiled, nodding.
"But," the prince added, "I would like to know more about his kingdom and his daily life. I want to know him properly before I come to terms with your decision."
The King immediately agreed. "It will be good for you to get to know the people and the place before you are accustomed to living there. I will send you as a servant there, without informing anyone about it. I am pretty sure the Kingdom won't mind giving shelter to you." The King said, as Seokjin nodded.

As it had been planned, the next week the young prince was sent in disguise as a servant with the name Seokhan. He had already masked his scent with a perfume, so as to not reveal his real scent.
He was quick to familiarize himself with the palace and the people. Being a friendly and kind person, soon enough the whole palace had welcomed him with open hands. He mostly worked in the kitchen, as it was the best get away for him, because he was a great cook.
One of the many friends he made was Hoseok. The young man worked as a cook too and he was a Beta. He was one of the first people to welcome him into the castle. Hoseok was a sweetheart and helped him in a lot of ways.
He had also explored the streets of the kingdom, only to notice how sweet the king was to arrange special homes for the poor, who were homeless.
Sometimes, he slipped into the courtrooms to hear the verdicts of the king and how he organized his court. He was surprised to hear the many good verdicts that were displayed by the King and how wise and intelligent he was in terms of leadership.
He had also taken notice of the King's behavior towards his fellow companions. The King was a humble yet clumsy person, who looked fun to be with.
Seokjin was happy with the King and had decided to deliver the same to his father. He was always taught to believe that a person's heart is more important than their looks. So, even when the King looked handsome, his heart was one of the most beautiful and kindest, which was what Seokjin had come to terms with.
But fate decided to test him out in a bitter way.

It had already been two weeks since Seokjin had come to the Kingdom of Aconite. He had decided to stay for another week, as he had grown to love the people in the palace.
Seokjin made his way to the kitchen, where Hoseok would be. He was passing by the King's room when a voice stopped him.
"You there!" The King called him. He turned around and saw the King approaching him. He bowed low and kept his head down, trying not to meet the King's eyes.
The King swiftly made his way to him. He slowly lifted up Seokjin's chin with his finger and looked at him. Seokjin could see a glint of red hue in his eyes, but only for a second.
"I have never seen you here. What's your name?" The King asked.
"Seokhan, Your Majesty." Seokjin said bowing a bit.
"Are you a servant?" The King asked.
"Yes, Your Majesty." Seokjin said. His inner omega was screaming at him to run away from the Alpha, but he didn't dare to make a move.
"It is a pity that you are of such a low class." the King paused, pushing back the hair behind Seokjin's ear. "Or I would have loved to make you my wife, for your looks and mesmerizing scent alone." He whispered, making Seokjin shudder at the deep voice.
Seokjin frowned, but quickly covered it with his smile. "I'd rather be a lowlife than be a mistress, your highness." He said, watching the King's face turn into one of shock and anger.
But he was quick enough to compose himself. "You are a brave Omega. But sometimes you need to be careful of what you speak, and whom you speak to." He whispered in a deep voice.
Seokjin muttered a "Yes, Your Highness" and quickly excused himself and ran away before he could be asked anything else. He took quick steps and went into the kitchen. Hoseok was shocked by his behavior but didn't question him.
The next few days he locked himself in his room. He decided it was better to be inside his room, till the day of his departure.
But luck wasn't on his side.

The following days he could see the King trying to flirt with him and making unnecessary comments on his attire. He just bowed and didn't take any offense to it. He just convinced himself that the King was a stubborn person.
Seokjin made sure to check on everyone before he departed from the palace. As he was passing by the Courtroom, he was stopped by the King again.
"This is your final chance." He said, "I give you one final chance to accept my offer." The King said.
"I am sorry, your Majesty. But my answer remains the same. I am not interested in having any sexual relationships with you." He said and turned away before the King could put a word in.
He knew he shouldn't have raised his voice. He just hoped the King wouldn't put him in some dungeon, because he wouldn't be able to leave the palace then.
But the King had other plans.
•

•
That night there was a big storm. The wind was howling making it difficult to hear a sound. The sound of the lighting and thundering of clouds made any sound impossible to hear.
But the storm inside the King's mind was even more monstrous than the one outside.
The King, Namjoon, had always been a wise ruler. His subjects and interests in court were always for the benefit of the people of his kingdom. He had never made a single mistake during the day.
But during the night, a monster ate his thoughts of kindness and compassion. His Wolf was always hard to control, but he had learned to control himself over the years. His wolf had always been egoistic, which was quite a contrast to his characteristics established as a King.
So, one could only imagine the anger and frustration he experienced after the rejection from a mere Omega. The omega might have been beautiful, but it did not mean he could just reject him out in the open. His human self and wolf both were angry. They couldn't digest the fact that the Omega wouldn't be theirs, after they had laid an eye on him.
The thoughts of consent and love were long gone from his brain. Now it was clouded by anger and lust. The storm outside seemed to grow wilder, as he made his way to the servants quarters.
He kicked in the doors, making the servants scream in terror. The red eyes displayed instead of his normally sweet brown ones which made the servants shudder and they ran for their lives.
The last door to his right was the only one locked. He kicked the door and it immediately broke open. He entered the room to be met with the Omega, who was standing against the wall with a knife in his hand. His demeanor was confident, but his legs gave him away.
If it was any other Alpha, he would have chopped his head off, but he was the King. He couldn't kill him. But he could wound him to get away from there. That was the plan, but his Omega was giving him away, trying to submit to the pheromones of the Alpha standing in front of him.
The Alpha made his way towards the Omega and easily snatched the knife out of his hand. The Omega bared his fangs and growled at the Alpha, which quickly turned into a whimper seeing the red eyes of the Alpha.
"Submit, Omega" The Alpha said, using his tone of command. The Omega slumped on his knees and bared his neck for the Alpha, as tears ran down his cheeks.
This was not how he wanted to lose his virginity. But even before he could react, he was thrown onto a bed and had his clothes torn. The Omega closed his eyes shut, as the pain seeped into his body.
The storm wailed outside the window.

The following day, the storm had calmed down, but all the flowers had withered. Namjoon woke up to the bright sunlight entering his room. He slowly opened his eyes. All the events that had passed yesterday slowly played in his mind.
He quickly turned beside him to meet with an empty bed side. He quickly got out of the bed and wore his clothes. He looked everywhere, inside his room and the whole castle, but it was like the Omega had disappeared. Not even a single trace of the Omega could be found.
No one knew where he had gone. The King frantically searched for the Omega. Guilt filled in when he started seeing the Omega with dull eyes everywhere. He was haunted by his conscience and guilt. His wolf didn't dare to come out.
The Kingdom had been turned upside down on the quest of finding the Omega but to no avail.
The King had realized his mistake, but partially. He still wouldn't tell others what he had done, because he was ashamed. Now what was left was to apologize to the Omega and make the Omega his wife, rightfully.
Only if the Omega would come back.

Seokjin, on returning to his own kingdom, locked himself in his room. He did not meet with anyone nor did he speak a word.
The scars on his body were healing as days passed, but the scars imprinted in his brain scarred him for life. He wailed and sobbed in his pillows as he was reminded of it every night.
The King had struck him as a noble and wise one, but his one mistake had made him utterly disappointed.
So when he was healed mentally and physically, he stepped out of his room and made his way to his father's chambers. The King and the Queen were delighted to see the prince again.
With the condition of not answering any questions he simply stated his decision.
"I am ready to marry the King of Aconite."
The King, Queen and the people were happy on hearing the prince's decision. The proposal of the wedding was almost immediately sent to the King of Aconite. Everyone was happy for the Prince.

It took him about a month to come out of the search for the Omega 'Seokhan'. The King had searched across the lands to find the young man, but he couldn't.
After a month of distress, he found himself reading the proposal of the Land of Freesia in the court. He had planned not to agree on any proposals till he had found the Omega, but the requirement for expansion of capital and supply of resources, forced him to accept the agreement between the two Kingdoms.
He had heard a lot about the Kingdom of Freesia and couldn't agree more that it was one of the most perfect and beautiful places.
As soon as the agreement had been sealed between the kingdoms, the preparations for the marriage of King Namjoon and Prince Seokjin started taking place.
Namjoon had never met Seokjin, but he was sure that being a royal blood, he sure would have been of excellent character. He knew it would mean cheating on both Seokjin and Seokhan, if he didn't confess his crimes to at least his future husband, so he had planned to tell everything to Seokjin, so that the Prince could decide for himself.
But the only problem was that the Prince always avoided meeting the King on all occasions. The King regarded him as shy and waited for the night after his marriage.

The wedding had undoubtedly been one of the most gorgeous and extravagant weddings in the Kingdom. The people were thrilled to see their Prince getting married to such a young and handsome King.
Seokjin had presented himself in a veil. He didn't want the Alpha to know about him so soon. The people had been curious but no one dared to speak about it.
The wedding finished smoothly and the night of the wedding arrived sooner than what Namjoon had hoped for.
With his heart thumping loudly, he made his way to his room, where Seokjin was waiting for him. He slowly opened the door to see Seokjin sitting on the bed, with the veil still covering his face.
"I-I don't know how to tell you in any less polite manner about the upsetting crime I have committed. I tried to approach you, but you didn't want to meet me, so, I think it would be only fair if I told you rather than anyone else." Namjoon paused, taking a deep breath in.
He lowered his head and told him about everything that had happened that night. From the rejection to the search for the Omega, every little detail was spoken. He didn't know why but he felt that he had the need to explain it to the Prince, because he was the one who would live with him for his whole lifetime.
After all had been told he looked at the Prince, who just sat there. "If you want to go back to your Kingdom after listening to this, I won't stop you, but if ever the Omega returns, I am going to make him my queen and I am sorry if that hurts you." He said.
Seokjin laughed, although the King couldn't find any humor in the laugh. The King looked up to see Seokjin revealing his veil. His eyes widened on seeing the Omega, whom he had been searching for hours every day and night.
"Y-You are the Prince?" Namjoon stuttered as he looked at the Omega. It didn't take him a second longer to fall onto his knees and apologize to the Omega.
"I am really sorry. I know I am not even qualified to say this, but I am really sorry." He said, as tears pricked his eyes. Seeing the Omega pricked his heart with guilt.
"I won't forgive you that easily, King Namjoon." Seokjin said, only this time he had the authority and pride of a Prince, but still the pain could be felt. "The scars you have imprinted on my body may have healed, but those on my mind have not, and never will." He said.
"I am ready to do anything you want. Anything to rectify my mistake." The King said.
Seokjin dryly chuckled. "That wouldn't bring me back my virginity, would it?" He said in a voice that was barren of any emotion.
The King looked at him with tears, but Seokjin didn't sway from his point. "The tears are of no value when ignored." He said, "The pleas don't work when it falls on deaf ears." He said.
The King remembered the words. He had spoken them when he was ruthlessly forcing himself on the Omega. He found himself facing the irony of being on the other side. How his words were being used on him now. He wanted to laugh at himself.
"This is how karma works, Your Majesty." Seokjin said, "If it had been another Omega or if it had been another Alpha who forced himself on me, would you have accepted me?" Seokjin asked.
The King stared at him blankly. The words slowly settled in his brain. The realization pierced his heart and throat.
Would he have accepted the Prince if he was raped by someone else? Hell no. His wolf would have gone crazy and would have killed the Omega for cheating on him. But now that it was him who did it, he didn't have a problem.
"It doesn't work like that, Your highness." Seokjin said, "You are fortunate that it was me who was getting married to you. But what if it was another servant? Would you have accepted him or her if he was still beside you?" Seokjin questioned.
As the questions increased, the guilt in Namjoon increased. The guilt of not only forcing the Omega but also the guilt of not having a conscience to even think of the consequences.
He was indeed grateful to God, that it was Seokjin that day or the complexity of the situation might have affected many.

The guilt after the event had never left Namjoon's mind after that night. He couldn't even dare to look into Seokjin's eyes. His wolf wailed, and so did he.
Seokjin made himself worthy of his position as Queen. He knew what he was supposed to tend to. The people were more than happy to receive Seokjin as Queen, because he was kind, elegant and extremely beautiful, behind which he hid all his scars, which only made him stronger.
Namjoon did believe that Seokjin was a great actor. In front of everyone, they acted like the most ideal couple, but behind the closed doors of their room, only they knew what actually happened.
Seokjin had demanded to sleep in another room, but for the so-called honour of the King, he had compromised on sleeping in the same room with a large curtain drawn between them. It was a reminder to Namjoon that he wanted his own space and did not want to have anything to do with the King when they were alone.
And Namjoon respected it. It was the least he could do. He accepted all the conditions in order to make it up for his deeds. He never interfered in anything that related to him, because he knew he didn't have the right to.
•

After a few weeks of marriage, Seokjin suddenly felt sick. He kept throwing up every hour and felt dizzy. So Namjoon called the royal doctor to check on him. The royal doctor arrived and gave his verdict.
The Queen was pregnant.
The doctor was a bit shocked on knowing that his pregnancy had been of three months, but he kept his mouth shut on request of the King.
The news spread like wildfire. Both the Kingdoms were extremely happy. The Kingdom of Freesia sent numerous gifts to their beloved Prince, as well as the neighboring kingdoms.
Everyone was delighted, except Seokjin.
After the doctor had left, he had cried himself to sleep. He didn't want to have his child to remind him of that night. He was horrified on knowing the news of his pregnancy.
Everytime he looked at his growing belly, he was reminded of the pain he had felt that night. But he couldn't bring himself to kill the child, not when the innocent soul growing inside him didn't even do anything.
He wanted to hate the child growing inside him, but when his son was born, the only thing he could do was cry while holding him close to his chest. The young prince looked exactly like Seokjin.
Only his eyes resembled that of Namjoon. The prince too had brown eyes, which had a different effect on him.
His brown eyes shone when he saw his mother, giving peace and happiness to Seokjin. All the malice that he had stored in his head disappeared when he stared in the eyes of his son.
Seokjin finally found his solace.

When Namjoon heard about the news of the Queen giving birth, he raced to his chamber. He was extremely delighted, but the guilt still lingered in his thoughts, making him cower from the eyes of Seokjin.
Seokjin's eyes were really beautiful. His eyes held pride, kindness, chivalry, bravery, anger and pain. Among all the layers, Namjoon could only notice the pain and anger directed towards him.
So that day when he tried to look into his eyes, he didn't see the pain of an Omega, but he rather saw the love of a mother in his eyes. That alone broke the mighty Alpha into tears.
He slowly made his way to Seokjin's bed and sat beside him carefully. Omegas had a really protective instinct, especially after they had given birth. So, he carefully asked for his permission to hold the Prince.
Seokjin looked at him for a second, before letting him hold the baby. Tears flowed down Namjoon's eyes as he held the little boy in his arms.
These six months of pregnancy, he had tried not to come into Seokjin's view, so that he wouldn't get angry. But he still scented the place so that he wouldn't feel uncomfortable.
He took a deep breath and said, "He is really beautiful, just like you. Thank you Seokjin, and I am really sorry." Namjoon said.
Seokjin could feel tears flowing down his cheek too. "But he has your eyes." Seokjin said.
Namjoon's breath hitched. Did it mean that Seokjin hated the child?
"But," Seokjin said, cutting off his thoughts, "his eyes are warm, just like yours now." He said, looking at the King, who looked back.
This time Namjoon didn't find any anger in his eyes. His eyes were filled with tears and love, of a mother. His eyes looked so pretty that Namjoon found himself getting lost in them.
"I forgive you, Namjoon-ah." Seokjin said.
Namjoon couldn't believe his ears. His eyes widened and tears flowed again. He was engulfed by emotions of relief and happiness. He held onto his son, who was sleeping peacefully in his hold.
"Thank you, thank you so much. I-I never thought you would forgive me after what I had done. Thank you so much." Namjoon said as his vision blurred with tears.
Seokjin smiled for the first time, after nine whole months. He scooted next to the King and their son. He slowly engulfed both of them into a hug, which was gladly returned by the other.
