Chapter 5 - Felicia Gordon
"Alright I'm out." the young sixteen year old girl said before grabbing a warm peace of toast from the kitchen's table.
"Have a good day!" Her mother yelled from upstairs in the shower.
"I will!" She yelled back after rushing through the doorway and slamming it shut.
While rushing down pavement, Felicia consumed the toasted slice of bread while wrapping her long dark brown hair in one. She then jolted her shoulder forward, tossing the black school bag strap across to hold.
Finally, she halted at the bus stop sign near the wide wooden bench, where she quickly took a seat, and exhaled of exhaustion.
"Get up, and move." A voice said to her.
Felicia immediately swung her head left, and then the opposite direction.
"Um, excuse me?" She said with curiosity, but no one who could've said that was seen.
She gazed around and only saw a man and his wife crossing the road with a baby stroller. And on the pavement near the bench was a two men who'd just entered the bakery.
With that, she shrugged and relaxed herself, letting out a breath.
"Get up." The voice spoke once more, giving her a jump.
"And move." The voice said finally.
"Fine! Fine! Whatever." The girl said in defeat, making her way to the bakery.
And at that very same moment, a heavy screech was heard, followed by a loud crash with the sounds of shattering glass and material damage. The noise grasped the attention of both Felicia, and the bakery's consumers, causing them all, along with the owner, to rush outside on the scene.
"Somebody call the ambulance!" Voiced a woman in panic.
As everyone raced around to assist the driver who had been badly injured, Felicia stood there in one position, stunned about the accident, and what she had been hearing only moments ago.
"Oh my God." She whispered to herself, while her heartbeat sped like flash.
Same time, her phone vibrated in her hand. She rose it up to glimpse her mother's number. Felicia slid her finger across the screen answering it.
"Yello?" She answered in a spooked tone.
"Have you arrived at school yet? Did you show the new student around? Is it a boy?" Her mother joked, with a sizzling sound coming from the background.
"No. Not actually." Felicia said, setting her vision through the bakery's widow that revealed a view of where her school was located.
"Not actually? Felicia you ran, and don't use my car shutting down as an excuse for being late. Baby girl you are never late!" Her mom exclaimed on the line.
"I know – I know, but an accident occurred, and–"
"An accident! Where?" Questioned her mother in shock.
While watching through the widow, Felicia's hazel eyes picked up on a tall man, that seemed in his early thirty's. He wore a long black leather coat, along with a soft dress pants underneath. It went well with his black shoes that had a silver buckle running across it, and black gloves that was partly seen due his hands being in his pocket.
He wore his blonde curly hair loose, as it matched up with his well trimmed beard, that made his sharp jawline stand out.
"Felicia!" Her mother yelled on the other half, snatching her attention.
"Hm? What?" Felicia said with a present mind.
"Listen to me, stay in the bakery alright?" Her mother said.
"Why?" She questioned.
"I'll see if I can get the neighbor next-door to pick you up." Her mother stated.
"But mom, what about the bus?" Felicia said confused.
"You kiss that ride goodbye! I don't want you driving off to school crashing!" her mother spoke.
"Driving off to school, crashing?" Felicia giggled.
"Girl you know what I mean" her mom smirked.
"Okay alright, I'll wait" Felicia assured.
"Good. I'll see if I can get my car repaired by the end of this week" her mother mentioned.
"Love you baby girl." She added.
"Love you too mom" Felicia said, kissing her father goodbye before hanging up.
She then made her way towards the window and looked around, but didn't see the strange man among the crowd outside.
It didn't take long for a car horn to sound off, alarming her that the neighbors had arrived. Felicia wasted no time to go outdoors and greet them good morning.
She then took one last gaze around the crowd to see if she can spot the mysterious man, before heading in the car completely, and closing the door.
"You alright?" Asked the young man that sat next her, with his friendly brown eyes glaring her way, and his sweet smile warming her heart at first sight. His black frizzy hair was low-trimmed, and he wore a blue and white hooded jacket, with a white T-shirt underneath. Along with a matching ERA cap and white sneakers.
Felicia turned to the passenger near her, and was instantly dumbfounded by his incredible good looks and features.
"I'm, I'm fine." She assured, with a strawberry color coating her face.
