"Why the fuck can't I let go of your hand!?" Jimin exclaimed, one hand clasped tightly around Yoongi's as the raven haired male dragged him down the dimly lit streets. It was late at night, late enough for the crowds to be gone leaving no one but Jimin, Yoongi and Hoseok to stumble home underneath the warm pools of light shining down from the buzzing street lamps.
Feeling Jimin's struggle, Yoongi tightened his hold, rolling his eyes at the blonde's desperate actions, "It's a little something called gravity." he spoke, using his ability to keep Jimin's hand undoubtably glued to his own. Yoongi had learnt that if he focused hard enough, he could channel his gravitational abilities down to a certain point or structure, allowing for things to be attracted to it... kind of like a magnet.
Still trying to tug his smaller hand away, Jimin let out a groan, "You disobey the laws of physics."
Yoongi scoffed, "Dude I am a law of physics." he replied, letting out a tired puff of air as they rounded one final street corner.
Shoulders dropping, Yoongi let out a sigh of relief as he stood in front of the familiar wooden sign of Hoseok's cafe, words barely readable under the shadows of the night. Running a hand through his hair, Yoongi gestured towards the door. "Mind opening it up Hoseok?"
Swaying a little on his feet, Hoseok stumbled up beside Yoongi, "Sure thing." he groaned, no longer drunk but suffering from a painfully blunt headache as he placed a hand against the front door to steady himself. Slipping a hand into the pocket of his jeans, Hoseok took out a single silver key, unlocking the cafe door and gesturing towards the dimly lit staircase.
"Thanks." Yoongi muttered, a feeling of guilt washing over him as he left Hoseok to tend to himself.
He would've helped Hoseok no doubt, but making sure Jimin understood the severity of their situation was currently his top priority. So tightening his grip on the male's wrist, Yoongi dragged Jimin upstairs, waiting for Hoseok to enter the room before raising a single hand, channeling his gravitational abilities to the entrance as he shut the door with a frightening bang.
Flinching at the sound, Jimin spun on his feet, finally tugging himself away from the raven haired male and quickly dashing towards the front door of Hoseok's apartment. With an outstretched hand, Jimin was quick to grip tightly onto the metal door handle, grunting when it didn't allow for him to open it.
With gritted teeth, Jimin pulled and tugged at the door with all his might, eventually letting out a sigh as his hand slipped from the handle in defeat. "Why can't I get out?"
Rolling his eyes, Yoongi dragged his feet over to the living room couch, taking a seat as he let out a drastic sigh, "Do I have to keep repeating myself?" he spoke, pointing a finger towards his hand, "I control the element of Gravity, which includes the ability to control that door." he finished, gesturing towards the door Jimin was still standing by.
The blonde's eyelids fell into something of boredom, "This is kidnapping."
Yoongi shrugged, "You ain't a kid." he spoke flatly, eyes still glued to Jimin's form. However it wasn't a moment until he remembered Hoseok's drunken state, deciding it would be best to do the right thing. So inhaling a breath, Yoongi rose to his feet, "Now excuse me for a second whilst I put this drunkard to bed." He chuckled, gaze falling over to Hoseok on the couch...
the orange haired male asleep on the couch that was,
Lips twitching into the smallest of smiles, Yoongi ran a hand through his hair, "Never mind."
Still standing by the door, Jimin was beginning to loose his patience, foot tapping mindlessly against the carpeted floor as he watched Yoongi's rather un-entertained expression, "Okay but seriously, someone needs to explain what the fuck is happening."
Attention shooting back over to the blonde, Yoongi crossed his arms firmly over his chest, "You need to calm down-"
"calm down!?" Jimin exclaimed, brows furrowing, "How am I meant to calm down after finding out that magical shit actually exists, and that apparently I'm magical myself!" he shout, slightly stirring Hoseok in his sleep, "It just can't be possible!"
"That's what I thought too... trust me, I'm just as new to this as you are." Yoongi spoke, voice almost soothing as he spun on his feet, turning towards the dining room. Watching from afar, Jimin waited as the raven haired male swiped a single book from the table, holding it firmly in his grasp before passing it over to Jimin, "Here." Yoongi breathed, hesitating before handing the book over to the blonde
Pursing his lips, Jimin cocked a brow, "What's this?"
Placing a hand against the back of his neck, Yoongi gave a sheepish smile, "A brief explanation of our current situation." he began to explain, pausing before he continued, "As of now, there's a small group of us... Aurora picked it up in the library a few days ago, and ever since then, crazy things have been happening."
Giving a small nod, Jimin's eyes flickered down to the book he held loosely in his grasp. Bound in thick leather, cracked and dry with age the thick volume smelt faintly of nature and dust. Sliding his hand to the side of the cover, he opened it up, the pages within brittle and creased. A faint scrawl on the inside of the cover declared that the book had been written by k.n. He couldn't help but frown, eyes meeting with Yoongi's once again, "Have you tried to make sense of it? Find the author perhaps?" he asked, gaze falling back to the pages of the book.
Letting his arm fall back to his side, Yoongi let out a tired sigh, "In ways we have... but as of now we have no idea where to begin." he confessed, eyes darting out the open window. The moonlight was all the more faint, usual silvery light almost absent in the darkening night. Time was ticking, everything they had ever worried about before was beginning to escalate... and it was up to them to stop it all.
Snapping from his trance, Yoongi's gaze drifted from the window over to the sound of shuffling from the living room couch. Eyes flickering open, Hoseok let out a grunt as he sat up in place, running a hand through his tousled orange locks, "Maybe Jin can help?" he yawned, bringing a hand to his eyes as he rubbed the sleep away, "We never gave him a proper look at the book, he could know some stuff?"
From the door, Jimin was quick to slam the book of elements shut, throwing it to the floor with a loud thud. Sharp feline eyes narrowing in offence, Yoongi parted his lips to speak, but was quick to be cut off by Jimin's startled state, "Nah man... even if all of this isn't a lie," he placed a firm hand against the metal door handle, "I don't want any part of it."
Watching from afar, Yoongi's eyes grew wide the moment Jimin twisted the handle, door beginning to open. It didn't make any sense? His ability was still activated, Jimin should've had no control over opening the door. So dashing forwards on his feet, Yoongi reached out an arm to the blonde, ready to snatch the male by his shirt.
But someone else beat him to it.
As the door swung open, Jimin wasted no time in gaining a spring in his step, ready to break out into a sprint. However, opening the door from the other side was a certain raven haired female, breath leaving her as Jimin crashed into her surprised form, sending the two of them stumbling to the floor.
Aurora felt her breath become knocked out of her lungs as her back hit heavily against the wooden floor, a shock of pain shooting through the back of her spine, "Fuck!" she cursed, letting out a groan of pain as she remained unmoving.
With a hand either side of her head, Jimin couldn't help but blink wondrously at the female trapped below him. She was like nothing he'd ever seen before, hair as black as night and eyes as glisteningly purple as a rare gem found in the deepest of caves. Her eyes were framed by thick lashes, lips plump and parted as she let out a breath.
Adams apple bobbing in his throat, Jimin knew he wasn't thinking straight the moment five words slipped past his lips, "I mean if you wanna-"
"I mean fuck me we almost touched!" Aurora exclaimed, seemingly un-phased at the man currently hovering over her in a very suggestive position. Shooting the blonde a glare, Jimin was quick to scurry off Aurora's form, allowing for the girl to sit up in place. With a hand against her pounding head, Aurora jabbed a finger in Jimin's direction, "Who invited the perv?"
Raising his hands in defence, Jimin stumbled back in shock, "Woah I aint a perv-"
"We did." Yoongi spoke up, clearing his throat as he cut the argument short, "he's the elemental."
Aurora's eyes grew wide, "Seriously!?"
"Yep, the marking's on his wrist." Yoongi confirmed, taking a hold of Jimin's arm and sliding up the male's sleeve. Against his honey toned skin was a simple marking of a silhouetted tree, so simplistic and dainty, it was gorgeous, feminine almost.
Tugging his arm free of Yoongi's hold, Jimin's brows furrowed, "Hey how did you kn-"
Cutting the blonde's sentence short, Seokjin was quick to stand by the younger, taking Jimin's wrist into his own hand and sliding up the male's sleeve once again. Under the faint light of the drifting moon, Jin rose a brow, "Oh, so you're nature... interesting"
Feeling less intimidated by Seokjin, Jimin softened his stance, "What do you mean?"
Jin lowered the male's wrist back to his side, placing a hand against his hip before he began to explain, "You know... the phenomena of the physical world collectively, including the elements that make up the earth."
"Okay... way too much info." Jimin cut in, watching as Seokjin let out a tired sigh as he re-evaluated his words.
"What I'm saying is that you control the elements of the earth." Seokjin continued, choosing his words carefully as he began to explain, "You know, like plants, water, air... you're one of the more privileged elementals." he paused as he registered Jimin's awestruck expression. Waiting for the blonde to soak in the information, he then continued, "In basic terms, if Yoongi represents gravity, Hoseok controls energy and I control time, you control what makes up planets and planetoids." he finished, explaining it in a way that made a lot more sense.
The universe is made up of several key elements. These elements make up both of what we see, and fail to see. Whilst Yoongi, Seokjin and Hoseok are less privileged and only control a single fundamental of space, Jimin controls that of what planets are made up of... which is a whole other ball game. Elements can expand to a vast number of different things, from water to air to earth.
Jimin crossed his arms over his chest, slowly giving it thought, "So kinda like the periodic table, the physical elements..."
"Precisely." Jin chirped, snapping his fingers contently as he realised that Jimin was quick to understand what he meant.
But even with a good explanation, Jimin still wasn't buying it. "Okay this is getting creepy." he muttered, taking slow steps away from the group standing in the living room, "What are you guys... a cult!?" he exclaimed, teeth clenched in his mouth, "Or this must be some kind of TV prank, right?"
Yoongi rolled his eyes, "Obviously my gravitational demonstrations weren't enough." he groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose at the amount of effort they were taking to convince the blonde. So turning to the male beside him, Yoongi nudged Hoseok against the shoulder, "Hoseok, mind giving it a whirl?" he smirked, cocking his head in Jimin's direction.
Rolling his stiff neck and cracking his knuckles, Hoseok let a smile spread its way over his face, "Don't mind if I do." he grinned, causing Jimin to take but another step back at the male's unexpected enthusiasm.
Extending an arm out in front of himself, Hoseok closed his eyes, sucking in a sharp breath of air as he began to channel his ability. It started as a small tingle in his fingertips, a warming sensation, kind of like a rush of adrenaline as it began to heat up at a rapid pace. As Hoseok opened his eyes, small sparks began to surround his spread fingers, small spirals of orange energy waves casting light over his warm features as he smiled. They danced and glistened in the air, almost like sun flares leaping out into the open.
Standing by the wall wide eyed, Jimin could do nothing but stare,
"I think I'm gonna pass out."
