Chapter 5

At first, no one moved, gazing into one anothers eyes. Then Fawn and Hurricane moved forward like lightning and the Gray Jedi embraced Hera.

"I've missed you" Fawn exhaled.

Hurricane nuzzled the Twe'lik's hand and the pilot placed her palm on the dragon's snout. Drawing away, Fawn smiled at Hera warmly.

"How's things in the rebellion?" She asked.

"Good, we've finally established a base."

"That's great! I'll be looking forward to hearing about it."

Fawn then moved to Sabine and studied the Mandalorin.

"Changed your hair again?" She smiled.

"You know me" Sabine replied.

Fawn exhaled a chuckle before hugging Sabine. The girl returned the gesture, gripping Fawn's back. After the Gray Jedi pulled away and embraced Zeb, she turned to Kanan.

"What happened to you?" Fawn asked, taking off his eye cover.

She gasped and almost dropped the mask.

"Kanan...your eyes" Fawn said in disbelief.

Kanan offered Fawn a small smile.

"It's a long story" he told her.

"I'm sure" Fawn hugged Kanan, resting her chin on his shoulder.

"You can't see, can you?" She whispered.

"No" Kanan admitted.

"Who did this to you?"

"I'll explain later."

Fawn drew away, passed Kanan back his mask, then turned to Ezra. The boy gazed back at her, arms crossed and expression difficult to describe. Fawn felt her heart melt as she saw the emotions in Ezra's eyes. Sadness, anger, and she knew the look of hurt when she saw it.

"Hey" she said.

The boy didn't say anything.

"Barely recognize you, you've grown so tall, and I see you've taken up Sabine's habit of changing hairstyles."

Ezra looked at his sister with a raised brow.

"Got different clothes too, and is that a new lightsaber?" Fawn asked.

Ezra glanced down at the weapon before nodding.

"What happened to the other one?"

"Vader destroyed it" Ezra replied bitterly.

"When did he do that?!"

"When we were on Malacore" Kanan sighed.

"He was on Malacore?"

"More like he came to Malacore to destroy us" Ezra explained.

"Well, this is clearly a story that I need to hear, but first, I say it's about time you guys saw your dragons again" Fawn said.

"Kyber and Moonshine should be here."

They walked down the hill, gazing around at the terrain. Ezra got a good look at Fawn, and wasn't surprised to see she'd barely changed. Her outfit was the same with her hair still over her shoulder. It had grown a little so it almost reached Fawn's elbow armour. Speaking of, the Mandalorin armour was still bluey purple.

"There" Hera pointed to two green dragons sitting side by side on a nearby cliff.

"I know my dragon anywhere."

They approached the two reptiles, stepping lightly.

"Moonshine, Kyber" Fawn said making the dragons heads rise.

"Fawn?" Moonshine asked as she and her husband looked over.

Both dragons froze, eyes wide. Kanan and Hera stood in front of the group, smiling.

"Hey buddy" Kanan greeted.

"KANAN!"

"HERA!"

The reptiles threw their heads into their riders arms, laughing as they were embraced tightly.

"You're here! But how...? When?" Moonshine sputtered pulling away.

"Just got here" Kanan explained.

The two dragons weren't too different since the last time the crew had seen them. They looked older but they still had the same features. Gentle eyes, inquisitive expressions and the spiral symbol burned into their shoulders. Kyber was gazing at his rider, cocked his head to the side in confusion.

"Kanan, why do you have a mask on your face?" He asked, the joy of seeing his rider ebbing away.

"Kyber, this might be hard for you to understand, but," Kanan sighed taking off the mask and revealing his grey pupils.

"I'm blind."

Kyber didn't move for a while, his eyelid twitched and he blinked.

"B-Blind?" He repeated.

"Yeah."

"When did this happen?"

"Malacore" Kanan replied.

Kyber rumbled angrily.

"I knew I should've been there to help you guys."

Kanan patted the dragon's nose sadly.

"It's done and there's nothing we can do about it. All we can accomplish now is moving forward" he said.

A sudden explosion in the arena that was quite far away made them look round.

"Bludgeon" Fawn and Hurricane said at the same time.

"That was Bludgeon?" Zeb stared.

"Yeah, he's a much more dangerous brute now. Everyone knows not to tick him off" Hurricane replied.

"I'll need proof to see whether or not he's become more dangerous" Zeb grinned.

"Guess I know where we're going next" Sabine shrugged and the group moved down the hill.

"So! What's been going on around Kabera since the last time we were here?" Kanan asked.

"Well, we've improved our forces and made the Dragon Armour stronger. It's now double reinforced with Raxia's scales. No way can the Empire conflict damage now. We've also added Military Grade shield generators to protect Kabera and the moons from enemy fire. We have more Squadrons and patrols, lots of different slaves and homeless refugees have moved here. We've also have made a Hatchery. It's where all the ultra rare and unique dragon eggs are born. There's over ten complex security features you have to pass before getting into it. Not to mention impossible to destroy from the outside."

"Wow. You've certainty made some secure adjustments" Sabine remarked.

"I'm not letting history repeats itself twice" Fawn replied.

Hurricane suddenly made a chuffing noise and butted his rider.

"What? Oh right! I completely forgot! Guys, Whiplash and Colour Fly have gotten into a relationship."

Ezra almost tripped up while Sabine stared wide eyed at the Gray Jedi.

"Say what?!" They said in sync.

"Yeah, Colour Fly and Whiplash are together. Girlfriend and boyfriend" Fawn told them.

"Colour Fly and Whiplash" Hera repeated.

"Or as we call them, 'Colourlash'" Hurricane smirked.

"Colourlash, ha! Nice one" Zeb grinned.

"I always knew he had a crush on my dragon" Sabine told them.

"Colour Fly said how they close they are as friends and apparently Whiplash flirted with her when they were on a mission."

"Whiplash's attitude's different and he managed to get Colour Fly to be his girlfriend? How much has he changed?" Ezra muttered to himself.

"What was that Ezra?" Logan asked.

"Oh, nothing" the teen replied hastily.

They reached the arena where Fawn slid her access card through the slot and pressed in a code. The light clicked green and the group entered. The arena looked pretty much the same except for a few more added training equipment.

"Huh, this place is almost exactly the..." Sabine started when a large rock slammed into the wall beside her.

"Woah!" She yelled, leaping away.

"What was that?!"

"That Sabine, was Bludgeon" Fawn replied then pointed to the sky.

The dragon was flapping many meters above the arena, raising boulders from nearby and throwing them. He suddenly flipped forward and curled into a large, spiked ball was plummeting towards the ground.

"Is that really him?" Zeb asked, shielding his eyes from the blinding light the moons produced which was as bright as sunlight.

"He's created a new move called 'Wrecking Ball', it's very affective" Logan told the Lasat.

The spinning ball of spikes was coming closer every second.

"Might wanna stand back a bit" Hurricane advised, knowing all to well how dangerous the dragon's attacks could be.

Bludgeon made contact with the earth, making the ground rumble and quake violently. Splits cracked through the ground and dirt flew everywhere as well as small rocks. Hurricane, Kyber and Moonshine stretched their wings over the rebels, blocking them from the debris. When it all settled down, the reptiles removed their wings, revealing Bludgeon standing mightily in the middle of the training ground. The sunlight glistening proudly behind him. Zeb always said how tough and intimidating Bludgeon looked in the past, now, the dragon was the definition of power. His muscles were thick, spikes deadly, and his eyes flashed dangerously. The tail that gave him his name looked brutal, while his wings were large and leathery. He was breathing deeply, chest heaving as he surveyed the damage he'd inflicted on the arena. With a snort, the beast growled and hit a heavy paw on the floor twice. To the Ghost Crews shock, the ground groaned as the cracks sealed themselves.

"Since when could you do that?!" Zeb called.

Bludgeon looked round and his eyes widened, the dangerous glint in his pupils replaced with shock.

"GARAZEB ORRELIOS!" He yelled before running at his rider and eargly burrowed into Zeb's arms.

"Where did you come from?!" He asked, half laughing.

"Only just got here ya big lug" Zeb grinned.

Bludgeon was always stubborn to show his true emotions, so seeing him chuckling in Zeb's embrace was memorable.

"I don't believe it" Bludgeon sighed, pulling away and looking at Fawn.

"Fawn, did you know they were coming?"

"No" Fawn replied.

"Well, you're here and that's all that matters" Bludgeon rumbled.

"Bludgeon do you know where Colour Fly is?" Sabine asked.

"Colour Fly? She's just outside" Bludgeon said, looking at Sabine.

"She's painting a mural on the arena."

"Ha, that sounds like her" Sabine rolled her eyes.

The group left the arena and walked around the side of the building. Soon enough, that heard the wavering sound of breathing fire. They turned the corner to see Colour Fly releasing red flames onto the wall. She hadn't changed much. Sure she was taller, wings larger, and teeth narrower. But eyes held the same mischievous glint while her tail feathers were still neatly curled. Sabine couldn't help but notice how the dragons beauty was still captivating as ever. No wonder Colour Fly and Whiplash were in a relationship.

"Huh, not bad art Colour Fly" Sabine remarked, deciding to make her presence known.

"Thanks Sabine" the dragon replied before her eyes widened in realization and she snapped round.

"Sabine?!"

Before Sabine knew it, she'd been knocked flat on her back, being nuzzled to death by Colour Fly.

"When did you get here?" The dragon asked in bewilderment.

"Just arrived" Sabine grinned, scratching Colour Fly's chin.

"And no one bothered to tell me? Huh, the arrogance of some people!"

Sabine chuckled and got to her feet, hugging the dragon's face to her chest. Colour Fly rumbled happily, pressing into the Mandalorin's hold.
Ezra couldn't help but smile. Seeing the dragons and riders reunite was heart warming, he couldn't wait to see Whiplash again. Even if everyone was saying how much he'd changed, Whiplash was still his dragon. And nothing could change that.
Fawn's com suddenly beeped making the rebels and dragons look at the Gray Jedi.

"Fawn? You there?" Lux's voice came through.

"I'm here Lux, what is it?" Fawn asked.

"We've just received word that Whiplash is about to enter Kabera's system. Do you want me to send him to you?"

Fawn cast an eye at Ezra before replying.

"No, we'll meet him where he's stopping, where will Gold Squadron be?"

"They're gonna have to remove their armour."

"The armoury it is then. Thanks Lux" Fawn ended the transmission.

"Come on" she said to the others, moving towards the armoury.

The others followed, dragons talking happily to their riders. Ezra looked at them all, noticing their barely changed features.
What was Whiplash going to be like? He was almost afraid to see.
They soon arrived at the armoury where the Dragon Armour was being made and some of the winged reptiles were being sized up. Twe'liks and Togrutas were in blacksmith corners, sharpening, shining, strengthening, and cleaning the pieces armour they'd made.

"This place has grown" Hera remarked, realising the difference.

"Yeah, ever since the attack, we've made our amour one of our biggest priority's" Fawn replied.

"I don't understand" Zeb said.

"You're a Dragon Rider, and help make the armour, yet you don't wear it. You wear Mandalorin armour."

Fawn smiled slightly.

"That's here you're wrong Zeb, this armour is Dragon Armour. I gave it to the Mandalorins who made it their style and gave it a few tweaks. So I'm respecting both my culture and theirs" Fawn explained.

"Which clan was it that you helped anyway?" Sabine asked.

Fawn was about to reply when a horn blasted through the armoury.

"Incoming! Gold Squadron!" A male Twe'lik yelled.

"Clear the runway!"

Twe'liks and Togrutas ran about, moving things and dragons to the sides as a group of shadows drew closer. A group of at least twenty six, armoured dragons flew into the room. Landing precisely and perfectly. Ezra looked through the dragons but didn't see Whiplash. The people began removing the reptiles armour, taking it to the far side of the room.

"That's where the armour gets cleaned" Ezra briefly heard Logan tell the others.

A dragon that was dressed in armour with gold patterns was standing nearby had caught the Ezra's attention.  The others had either silver and bronze swirls, that one had to be the leader. Ezra suspicions were confirmed when the head piece was taken off.
The dragon was tall, and slender. His brown horns were spiralled with the ends slightly curled, his scales blue except for the ones running from his neck and underneath his stomach which were faint yellow. The dragon's hooked wings were sharp and big. As for his tail, the barbs were curved and eight yellow spikes lining the ends. The reptile's eyes were daring and his expression was serious. His shook his head roughly as the head piece of the amour was taken off. He snorted, nostrils flaring in a intimidating way.

Whiplash.

Sorry for the long wait. Hopefully this made up for it. It was 2379 words.
How should Ezra and Whiplash's reunion go?
Suggestions are appreciated.
