Chapter 4

Ezra's eyes opened slowly. His head was pounding while his limbs ached. However, what felt like a cold rag was over his forehead soothing his headache. He was lying on a comfortable surface and there was a soft scent of vanilla in the air. Ezra could barely make out his surroundings. Everything was blurred and misformed. He could see what looked like people, but they had things coming out of their heads and weren't normal coloured. After his brain started up again, Ezra realised they were Twe'liks and Togrutas. Which meant they'd made it to Kabera, but why were they lying here? Then and again, where exactly was here? Glancing over, he saw the other members of the Ghost Crew lying on beds opposite him. Hera was awake and was talking to a Twe'lik, a mug of something in her hands. Kanan was also up and a girl was tending to an injury on the Jedi's shoulder. After a bit of staring, Ezra realised it was Hope. The girl looked pretty much the same except she'd grown taller and her hair had lengthened remarkably. It went well past her elbows and almost ended at the tips of her fingers. Hope had grown more beautiful with gentle pupils and tall eyelashes. Anyone would be attracted to her. She was talking to Kanan as she wound the bandages over what looked like a cut on the Jedi's arm.
Chopper was recharging nearby, talking to a purple and white R2 droid. And shockingly, Chopper was actually being nice to the other droid.
With a groan, Ezra sat up only to be gently pushed down.

"Easy Ezra, you had it rough."

The teen looked up to see an orange tanned Togruta with blue and white head tails.

"Who are you?" Ezra asked.

"My name's Logan, my dragon Chaser and I were two of the group who got you to safety" Logan replied.

A orange and red dragon went over and sat beside Logan as the Togruta said this. He was clearly a fire dragon with spikes that looked like small flames and sharp horns going round his head. He had a short neck but large wings and a spiral curled tail. A leather, but fire proof saddle was locked onto Chaser's back. Chaser had deep amber eyes and a cheeky expression. Just on looks, you could tell this dragon was a handful. He gave a deep rumbled of greeting to Ezra who smiled the best he could. He pulled the rag off his head and rubbed his temples.

"What happened?" Ezra asked.

"It's a long story. Let's just say when the Ghost entered Kabera's system, you were all unconscious. Blitzen contacted the command center when he saw all of you were unresponsive. Even Chopper wasn't waking up. We managed to get the ship down to the docking bay and got you all here."

"Where exactly is here?"

"The infirmary" Logan replied, taking the rag from Ezra and placing it in a bucket of cold water beside the bed.

Ezra stretched and glanced over at Zeb and Sabine.

"Are they...?" He began.

"They're alive. Surprised they're still unconscious though" Logan remarked.

Hera looked over at Ezra and relief filled her eyes.

"You alright?" She asked.

"Fine" Ezra replied honestly.

"Do you know why the Ghost reacted like that when coming to Kabera?"

"Since Kabera was affected, the ships entering the system take a beating" Logan said after Hera shrugged.

"Oh, don't worry the Ghost's fine" the Togruta said quickly, seeing Hera's face.

"It's engines malfunctioned that's all. They're being repaired as we speak."

Hera nodded but her gaze suddenly snapped to Sabine and Zeb as they woke up.

"Where are we? What happened?" Zeb asked groggily, rolling his shoulders and head back.

"Kabera" Ezra answered.

"And we all fell unconscious after we came through the star cluster."

"Let's never do that again" Sabine said, shaking her head to clear it.

"Logan?" Ezra asked making the Togruta look at him.

"Where's Fawn? I would've expected her to be here."

"She's on Moonlight Cliffs. She doesn't even know you're here. Myself, Chaser and Plex are going to escort you there" Logan motioned to the purple astromech.

"I've never seen that droid before" Zeb said.

"She's Fawn's. She's an R2 unit with the license plate of P1-18X. We however, call her Plex. She only got here four weeks ago. Fawn found her in a Jawa sale on Tatooine" Logan explained.

Plex looked away from her discussion with Chopper and gave a whistle of greeting.

"Can we go to see Fawn now?" Ezra asked.

"I don't see why not" Logan replied.

The crew got to their feet and left the infirmary after Logan, Chaser and Plex who was leading. The droid whipped out an access card and pressed it against the panel. The light turned green and the doors opened. The R2 unit whistled for the rebels to follow before wheeling through. The crew expected to see Kabera burned away like the last time they saw it. What met their gaze wasn't what they were expecting. Green grass covered the plains and new trees had been planted. Dragons swooped across the blue sky while others rested or loped across the fields. The stables were almost rebuilt and the hall seemed almost perfect. The only signs to show the planet was once in ruins were the black marks on the ground. The nature dragons did their best to set it right but it was no use. The laser fire had scarred Kabera, and some scars can't heal.

"I don't believe it" Ezra said, joy clear in his voice.

"Kabera is alright."

Plex wheeled across the green grass, the others right behind. Hera was explaining to Kanan exactly how Kabera looked now, while the other rebels stared around, open mouthed.

"This is incredible" Sabine remarked.

"I never thought Kabera would look like this again."

"Same here" Zeb nodded.

"Logan?" Ezra asked.

"Where are our dragons?"

"Kyber and Moonshine are most likely to be at Moonlight Cliffs meditating. Bludgeon is probably training somewhere. Colour Fly is without a doubt doing art somewhere. And as for Whiplash, he's out on a mission with Gold Squadron."

"He's part of Gold Squadron?" Ezra asked.

"Even better than that, he's the leader of it. Who would've thought it. That dragon's really changed."

"How do you mean?" Sabine inquired.

"Well he used to be really playful and immature, now he's serious and really powerful. It's like he's a completly different dragon."

Ezra's gaze dropped to the ground. Whiplash was like a completely different dragon? It didn't sound right to him. He'd expected Whiplash to stay the same, even through the time they were separated. How much had the reptile grown?
The rebels passed many dragons along their way to Moonlight Cliffs. All looked energetic and happy, a much better sight than what had been of the dragons before. Dead and still. Ezra shivered as he remembered tons of dead dragons strewn around Kabera's burnt away fields. It was horrific and Ezra sometimes had nightmares about it. Now, seeing the reptiles bouncing around was heart warming.
Moonlight Cliffs was a hilly terrain with steep drops and a healthy breeze. Weeping willow trees danced in the light wind while the lush green grass copied their movements. Dragons of all ages sat with their eyes closed as they rested or mediated on their chosen spots. Then they saw on the tallest cliff was a kneeling person and a dragon. The person's hair was twirling slightly on their shoulder while the dragon's wings fluttered. The rebels walked up the hill and stopped a few meters away from Fawn and Hurricane. Plex whistled making Fawn and Hurricane's heads rise.

"Plex? What can I do for you?" Fawn asked as she and Hurricane turned to look at the droid.

The Gray Jedi and her dragon went rigid, staring at the people behind Plex, Logan, and Chaser. She slowly rose to her feet, eyes looking over everyone.

"Hera?" She said.

"Sabine...Zeb...Kanan... Chopper. You're here."

Then her eyes fell on Ezra.

"You're all here" she whispered.
