Chapter 2:

Glory happily sat at the edge of the cliff, her lips curled up a smile. Blaze could understand why she was so pleased; there was a nice wind here. And she was the Girl of Air.

But he just couldn't get why Skye was so happy out here. The wind was too cold for his liking, and if not mistaken, she had fire magic just like him. He guessed him not liking the temperature had something to do with his fire magic.

"She's happy because there's fresh air all around here, and it's open," Rai, as if reading his mind, whispered to the younger male. He considered replying with a snappy remark but decided against it, forcing his big mouth shut.

Sunny leaned forward a bit to take a look. But it wasn't exactly a short cliff. She immediately stumbled backwards, bumping into Cole's chest. He grabbed the girl from falling. Blaze bit back his chuckle, Poor Sunny, it seems to be a very steep and long cliff.

Mist made to peer down as well, but Rai, walked to her quickly and grabbed her arm, probably as a precaution. She didn't shake him off. That's... sweet, the brunette boy thought.

"Hey Mom?" Glory said after a moments of silence, "Have you ever fell down a cliff?"

Skye snorted, "Your dad threw me off one."

Glory blinked at her before a small laugh escaped her lips, "You're kidding me, right?"

Callisto smirked at Storm who huffed, resting his arm on his shoulder.

Skye stared back at her, "I'm dead serious."

Okay, I have no memory of such an incident.

"That's not possible," the green eyed girl shook her head.

"Believe it or not, Storm did throw me off a cliff once," her mother said convincingly. Rai nodded with a small smile playing on his lips, "She's right. Storm did."

"Why is everyone painting me as evil?" Storm whined.

"Well, it would've been the most evil thing, had you not went after her," Callisto pointed out.

"Not to mention Aquatica would've murdered you," Rai said, mumbling the name of their beloved friend. Blaze himself felt a wave of sadness creep over him. She was the one who had taken him in as a baby. Aqua...

He remembered. He remembered how she was the most positive one. How she had once earned a scar on her back from saving his life. How Rai and Storm called her Aquatica, she insisted that Aqua was fine.

"And I just noticed that this is the same cliff..." The redhead trailed off, a hint of amusement in her eyes.

"You know what you did was just mean," Sunny crossed her arms, "Though I suppose you made it up to her."

"You people are never gonna let me forget that, are you?" He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.

Skye flicked his nose, "Nope."

"How the hell did you lovebirds survive this fall? Unless it was some power of love, which I'm sure it wasn't," Mist said as Rai tugged her back from the cliff's edge.

"If I may recall, Storm has wind powers just like Glory, which gives him the ability to fly." Cole started, "I'm sure all of you can imagine the rest." He added the last part with a hint of a smirk and Blaze resisted the urge to slap him for being so... perverted.

Luckily, Rai spoke as if reading his mind, "Cole, get those ideas out of your head right now. No such thing happened..."

"Did it?" He added, looking at Skye and Storm.

"No!" The couple replied so quickly one might've thought something did happen.

"Oh heavens, you people are so dirty minded," Callisto muttered.

Rai immediately piped up, "You say that like-mgngdgchfnb."

"That's enough," Skye threw a sideways glance at him, her hand clamped over his mouth.

Blaze bit down his snicker and Rai glared at him. It was a second later when Skye pulled her hand away quickly, and glared at Rai, wiping her palm on his red button up shirt.

He smirked at her, and Blaze realised he had licked her hand.

Gross, he thought, but found it slightly amusing.

"We should probably get back now," Storm said, wrapping his arm around his wife's waist.

"No!" Skye, Glory, Callisto and Mist whined.

Rai sighed and shook his head.

"Please, we others want to go back," Sunny requested softly.

"You can go if you want?" Callisto said, inclining his head slightly.

"Some of us don't want to leave them out here on their own, seeing how they have a tendency to get themselves in trouble first thing if we do," Rai muttered the last part, and Blaze nodded, even though he really wanted to get out and do something. But, he did not want Mist, Glory, and Skye to get themselves in trouble.

"Overprotective asshole," Rai murmured to himself and Blaze.

That's it.

He wound back his fist and aimed a punch for the red haired man's lower abdomen, but Rai easily caught his fist in his hand.

Rai leaned down to his eye level and whispered, "Might I remind you, Blazey, you're a lot smaller than me, and definitely not as strong."

Blaze sent a withering glare back at him.

A cough broke their glaring contest and they looked over to where Skye now stood, her arms crossed.

"Stop this before she murders you in your sleep someday," Mist lightly punched Rai's arm, and Skye shot a quick glare at the girl.

"Nah, she'd tie us up then torture us to death," He grinned, dropping Blaze's fist, "That's more like her style."

Blaze suddenly felt a change in the atmosphere. It felt lighter, and more mystical. He knew there was a powerful magic wielder nearby. It had a sort of, depressing feel. It made him feel a bit sad too.

Skye was the first to react. She shoved past Storm.

"Darkie," She whispered and ran into the thick trees.

"Skye!" Blaze cried out and made to run after her, but Rai held out his arm front of the boy.

"Let her be," He said in a low voice.

"She'll be alright," Storm said, "Besides, she needs it."

Callisto nodded in understanding.

"We should go back now," Cole said, shooting a look towards the trees.

"But-" Mist's words were cut off by a scream from Sunny.

"Sunshine, what is it?" Rai asked his daughter, worried.

She pointed at something by the cliff's edge and they turned around. Blaze heard Glory suck in a breath.

The creature was floating in the air. The tattered cloak was resting on a long flowing mound of darkness. The gray head was faceless, except for the unnaturally wide mouth full of jagged teeth. It was holding a long rapier in its skeletal hands, the blade sharp and it's edge glinting in the soft evening light. It was a thing taken right from nightmares.

"What is that?" Mist asked, and Blaze caught the rarest tremor in her voice, but was impressed by how she stood her ground. For some reason, he knew Rai detected it too.

"That's a Reaper," Storm whispered. They all surely remembered it. Skye and Callisto had told them about the creatures. They fed on human despair, fear and pain. Blaze just thought they were sadistic lunatics from space or another dimension.

"Mist, Glory, get back, now," Rai said firmly.

A ribbon of water swirled around her fingers as she raised her hand, "If that Reaper wants a fight, then we'll give it one. Right, Glory?"

Glory clenched her fists and stood in a fighting stance, "Yeah."

"You two, please, be sensible," Cole said in a pleading voice.

The Reaper floated closer towards them.

"Crap," Storm muttered, "Misty, Glory, you two better get back this instant. Let us handle it."

"Really guys?" Mist asked, "How much longer will we stay back, letting you guys do all the fighting? We have to defeat Darkon some day." He saw Glory's face fall at the last sentence, but she quickly concealed it with a stoic look.

"Yeah, let's give this Reaper a good kick in the butt." Glory said with determination, a small smile on her lips.

If it even has one, Blaze thought.

Here go these two fools, about to fight a Reaper. How more foolish can anyone get?

"Hey you two!" He shouted, "Don't forget me! I'll fight with you too!"

That's how one can get even more foolish, a voice that was not his own said inside his head.

Hi!

How are you all today?

I'm good.

How was the chapter?

Can you get where Storm had thrown Skye off a cliff? It's on a book in Wattpad, but the book has only one chapter.

I got inspiration for the Reaper from the Dementors, and Grim Reapers, and also from the creatures of the Grimm. From Harry Potter, Black Butler, and RWBY respectively.

Also, when Rai leaned down and whispered that line to Blazey, did he seem like evil to you? My brother said that made him seem a bit evil.

You know that moment when you crush on your own characters? Yeah, I know that feeling.

Ah well. That's it for today.

Bye!
