Chapter One pt.1

Alex & Lucy

"I can't believe we are stuck doing this," Lucy whined as she and Alex walked into the lobby of a motel.

Lucy was a tall and slender woman, with strawberry blond hair that fell loosely past her shoulders. She wore a black tank top under a black jacket, black pants and black boots. Her blue eyes hid behind black aviator sunglasses and in her hand was a gold iPhone. Alex wore a white button up shirt, black pants and black shoes. His black hair was cut low and he wore thin rimed black glasses. He looked at Lucy in amusement.

"Is it that we are stuck doing this or because she is going to meet him."

Lucy folded her arms over her chest and poked her bottom lip out. "She could have just as easily done this."

Alex rolled his eyes, "Stop being selfish, if something goes wrong she is the only one that can handle the situation."

Lucy started to argue but stopped. It was pointless, Alex was absolutely right. They walked to the front desk where a teenage boy sat.

"Only one room available." The boy said not looking up from his gameboy.

Alex shrugged at Lucy and said, "We will take it. Tell me has anything strange happened here in the past few months?"

The boy paused his game and looked up, "Well the Mitchell's are getting divorced."

Lucy sighed, "Just like I thought waste of time." She mumbled under her breath.

"What is so strange about that?" Alex pressed on gently.

The kid looked around to make sure no one else was around before saying in a low voice. "They don't believe in divorce. They are really religious, attend church every Thursday and Sunday. One day a few weeks ago Mr. Mitchell claimed he met another woman and that he wants a divorce." The kid paused. "Ever since that weird girl has come here all of the adults have been acting strange."

The door opened and Alex picked up the room key and flashed the kid a smile. "Thanks."

Alex and Lucy turned away from the desk and made their way towards their room. As Alex opened the door Lucy complained, "Lots of people get divorced."

"Still worth checking out." He said with a sigh, he knew this was going to be a long trip.

Isis

Isis danced as she unpacked the boxes in her new apartment. The process to secure the place had not taken a long time. People tended to ask less questions when you paid with cash. The apartment had five bedrooms and three bathrooms. She set up her computer room first, putting together three separate desk that face each wall, and than hooking up monitors. The other rooms she set up as bedrooms. Three of the rooms had king sized beds, and the last had two full-sized beds.

When the apartment felt like home she made herself a cup of coffee and sat down in front of the largest computer monitor. A stream of code flowed down the screen, and she sat back and watched sipping her coffee. Her iphone vibrating against the desk the chorus to Elle Varner's Not Tonight playing as Hawke flashed on the screen.

"Tristian Hawke." She said answering the phone.

"So we are back to that again? Where are you Isis?"

She could hear the hint worry in his voice. She took another sip of her coffee, "I thought we were giving me my space?"

"I'm just trying..."

"To protect me. I get it, really I do, but you are not obligated to protect me." She set her cup on the desk gently as an alert popped up. "Really at this point I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself."

Hawke sighed, "Isis..."

"Don't do that. I'm fine, I promise you I am safe. Take care.."

He started to say her name but she disconnected the call. She leaned back and dialed a set of numbers that had popped up on her screen. The phone rang three times before he answered.

"I did not expect to hear from you this quickly." He said his voice smooth.

"Darrion what do you want?" Isis asked folding her arms over her chest.

"Just to give you a heads up, they dispatched Cas and Walt on some assignment."

At that her interest peaked, "What assignment?"

"They did not say, but I have it on good authority it takes place in Mapleview, Virginia." He said, "Also would you mind meeting with me tonight?"

"It depends, where are you?" Isis asked as she sent Lucy and Alex a text to abort the mission.

"I will be at your new job. Malone's huh?"

Isis paused before saying, "Neutral territory."

"Indeed. I will see you tonight then."

Darrion ended the call. She considered calling Hawke back and explaining her plan to him, but then again she knew he would try to help, and she did not want him to. She went to take a shower and get ready for work, hoping Lucy or Alex responded soon.

Jin and Hawke

"Why are you here again?" Jin asked as he got out of his car and closed the door.

His older brother leaned against his motorcycle a lazy smile on his face. They looked nothing alike. Hawke was slightly muscular, with messy brown hair and a five o'clock shadow. He wore a black fitted shirt underneath a brown leather duster jacket, black pants and black combat boots. Jin had a leaner athletic build and stood a few inches shorter than Hawke. He had jet black hair that was pulled back into a ponytail and slanted turquoise eyes. He wore a black t-shirt with Malone's logo, black pants and black sneakers. An apron draped over his arm, Jin eyed his brother warily.

"Me and Malone have a private matter to discuss. Why are you so keen on keeping me away?" Hawke asked his brother in amusement.

Jin sighed, "We are getting a new bartender and I know how you are."

Hawke laughed walking towards the entrance, "Business only, I promise."

They stepped inside of Malone's instantly greeted by the smell of alcohol, cigarette smoke and greasy bar food. Despite the smell it was actually a decent looking establishment. Malone had recently remodeled adding in hardwood floors and new tables and chairs. He also added a new pool table and a poker table. Malone greeted both men with open arms.

"Well Hawke what a pleasant surprise!"
Malone exclaimed. "To what do I owe this pleasure?"

Hawke smiled, "There was something I wanted to discuss with you."

"Why of course, Jin the new bartender is here, if you would like to introduce yourself." Malone said pointing towards the bar that stood in the center of the room.

Hawke glanced in that direction before his eyes narrowed as he looked at Malone. Malone met his gaze with indifference and before Jin could stop him Hawke was headed towards the bar. She wore a black t-shirt similar to Jin's with Malone's logo printed on the front in green letters, blue jeans and black sneakers. Her hair was pulled into a tight bun and she moved around the bar like a professional. Hawke sat and looked at her in irritation. She caught his eye out of the corner of hers and a small smile played on her lips as she walked to where he sat. She produced a small glass and filled it with Burbon before sliding it over to him.

"Tristian." She said before turning her attention to Jin and Malone.

Malone watched Hawke carefully, while Jin looked back and forth between the mysterious new girl and his brother.

"You two know each other?" Jin asked.

"I'm Isis, nice to meet you." The girl said ignoring his question.

She held out a hand and he took it shaking it briefly as their eyes connected. Something about her seemed familiar, but Jin could not place his finger on it. Hawke glared at her as she continued to ignore him and served other customers.

"Isis." Hawke said after a moment had passed and she still had not returned to speak to him.
Malone placed a firm hand on his shoulder and said, "You wanted to talk to me?"

"I did." Hawke said as he picked up the glass Isis had made for him and took a small sip. "Now I want to talk to her."

Jin folded his arms over his chest and gave his brother a confused look, "So you two do know each other."

"Why yes, me and her go way back." Hawke said his irritation turning to anger.

Jin looked at Malone with a raised brow, "I feel like I'm missing something."

"Oh, it will become very clear." Malone said in amusement, "It's okay to go, if anyone knows how to handle Hawke it's her."

Jin hesitated before walking away. Malone stood there for a few moments as Hawke watched Isis blatantly ignore him. Malone chuckled to himself before walking back into his office. When the crowd died down Isis went back to where Hawke sat his eyes trained on her.

"Would you like a refill on your drink Tristian?" she asked as she held the bottle of bourbon in her right hand.

"I would like for you to talk to me." Hawke said trying to remain calm.

Isis raised a brow, "Oh but we did talk remember? What more is there to discuss? Why not go off with..."

She was cut off when she felt Darrion enter the bar. Hawke's grip on his glass tightened as he followed her gaze to the man making his way towards the bar. Darrion wore black leather pants, and black biker boots, and a leather vest with nothing underneath, showing off a hard six pack. His curly black hair stopped just at his shoulders and his eyes were gray the color of steel. He smiled at Isis, his smile widdening when he noticed Hawke sitting there, anger and irritation on his face. He took a seat next to the man and gave Isis a once over, his eyes tracing over every curve of her body. Isis pulled a cold Blue Moon out of the fridge and opened it setting it down in front of him.

He placed the bottle near his lips and remarked, "You don't need to get me drunk to take advantage of me babe, I love playing with fire."

Isis simply laughed and Hawke's grip on his glass tightened. "Just what is he doing here?" Hawke asked his voice low.

"Calm down Hawke." Darrion said after he took a nice long drink of his beer. He cut his eyes to Hawke, "Malone's is neutral territory. Besides I know for a fact you two are not a thing so she is not off limits."

"What information do you have for me?" Isis asked leaning across the counter and tilting her head to the side.

Darrion laughed softly. "I always loved how you get straight to the point. As you know Cas and Walt have been dispatched to Mapleview."

"Thank you for that warning..."

"Asesina and Archane are headed here though." Darrion said.

Hawke stood there in silence as Isis turned to look at him. At the apparent shock on his face Isis assumed he had no clue.

"Don't worry to my knowledge B26 has no clue about our little sea dragon being here, however it's only a matter of time..."

Isis frowned, "What exactly are they looking for here?"

"No clue, but I am certain it has something to do with what you sent your little friends to look for in Mapleview." Darrion finished off his beer and stood up, placing a twenty on the counter. "You can keep the change, and give Malone my regards."

He paused and grinned, "I will be seeing you again soon Isis."

He walked away and Hawke looked at her, his expression hard. "You know you can't trust him."

Isis gave him a sideways glance and responded, "I don't, he is still working for him, although he seems not to be very loyal to either cause...however he is not the only one who can not be trusted."

She walked away to attend to a wave if new customers and Hawke slipped out of the bar. He got onto his bike and drove away.
Something was going on, and he intended to get to the bottom of it.
