Found Out!
3rd Person POV
A sudden thought bubble popped into Wade's mind as he smirked, "How about after dinner...we play the Crying Game?" Wade smirked at (Y/N) as she smirked back.
Every time they played the Crying Game, (Y/N) was known to be the champ. But Wade had a secret weapon to beat (Y/N) this time and his name was Flame. Everyone cheered with excitement at the game as Flame smirked, looking at (Y/N).
"Let me guess, you try to cry?" He leaned near (Y/N).
"Oh...We try not to cry...and let me tell you..." (Y/N) smiled smugly, "I'm the champ.." She leaned close to him.
A transition to the living room.
Flame sat closely to (Y/N) as both of them blushed. Wade smiled at the two, trying not to cry before the game even started.
"You have one minute, Mom, Go!" (Y/N) smiled happily as Wade flipped over the hourglass.
Their Mom & Harrold stared at each other.
"1979. November. You were..." Harrold continued to speak but their Mom started bawling tears.
The siblings groaned as the others cheered. Flame watched (Y/N) smile and have fun as a small, soft smile grew on his face.
'I...could get used to seeing her like this...' He looked from (Y/N) to everyone, 'I...could get used to this...' He smiled happily.
"Never got a chance to say goodbye to Nana!" Their Mother cried, hugging Harrold, as she bawled and then stood up, "Damn, you're good!" She smiled.
"Okay, Flame, (Y/N), you're up!" Harrold pointed at the two.
Wade pushed Flame's chair in front of where (Y/N) now stood. Both smiled at each other before looking off. Wade looked between the two and walked back to his seat, knowing that (Y/N) was going to give in.
"Okay...this is unfair!" Flame smirked, "No offense...but I have literally never cried!" Flame crossed his arms.
"You saying I have no chance?" (Y/N) scoffed with a slight smirk.
"Oh...I think you know I am..." Flame narrows his eyes, still smirking.
(Y/N) smiled brightly, "Sounds like a challenge!" She put her hands on her hips.
"Ready...Go!" Harrold turned over the hourglass to begin.
"Butterfly, windshield wipers...half a butterfly!" (Y/N) almost started to break but didn't, her family did.
Flame smirked at (Y/N)'s attempt to make him cry.
(Y/N) looked at Flame, looking into his eyes as she took a deep breath, "Okay...An old woman...on her deathbed...remembers the summer...she fell in love!" (Y/N) smiled happily, "She was out of his league and she was young and scared..." (Y/N) sniffled, "She let him go, thinking surely summer would come again...It...never did..." (Y/N) kept her tears up.
Flame didn't even break, still smirking a smug look. It was hot but...it got (Y/N) a bit annoyed.
(Y/N) looked down in thought as she quickly looked back up at Flame, "...Flame...when...I met you, I thought I was drowning..." (Y/N) smiled sadly.
Flame's eyes widened, a huge blush streams his face. He seemed confused but intrigued by her words.
"But that light, that light inside you has made me feel so alive...and...all I want now...is to be near it..." Everyone was listening to (Y/N)'s words, "Near you..." She smiled sweetly, like a puppy in love.
Flame felt his heart beating faster than ever. In his soul, he felt himself dancing with (Y/N)'s soul. Like they fit. Like Ying and Yang. Like (Y/N) was a missing piece of something that he's been missing for such a long time and he's finally found it.
But...something felt wrong.
He was scared. Scared to hurt her. Scared to lose her. Scared. Just scared. He feared something. Rejection. Humiliation. His Father's disapproval. Before he knew it, Flame had cried.
The family stared, "Awww..." They all smiled.
Flame wiped the tears and just stared at (Y/N) who was staring at him with love in her eyes. He didn't know how to reply to that love but he felt it too. He really did.
Suddenly, the phone rang as Wade rushed over.
"Hello?...Gale, Hi!" Wade smiled happily as Flame and (Y/N) snapped out of their love trance to smile happily at each other to look back at Wade.
- Glass? You repaired it with Glass? Hold the storm! -
Flame and (Y/N) looked hopeful, staring at Wade.
- Tempered glass...Solid as rock, I like it! Consider the tickets cancelled! -
Wade hung up the phone was a sad look on his face as (Y/N) immediately looked up at Flame who seemed slowly heartbroken. But a smile on Wade's face made the two light up with smiles on their faces too.
"We did it?" (Y/N) smiled.
"Yup!" Wade looked so excited.
They all smiled as Flame torched the pamphlet. Flame turned to (Y/N) with a huge smile.
"I could kiss you..." He muttered out as (Y/N) blushed.
"Excuse me?" She questioned.
Flame's face turned redder as he quickly turned away, "N...Nothing! Sorry..." He called himself 'stupid' in his head.
Later, (Y/N) walked Flame out.
"Thank you, Mrs. Ripple..." Flame smiled, "This was...This was really great..." Flame looked at her.
"Yeah, it was...and I mean what I said about your talent!" Mrs. Ripple smiled happily, "I have a friend who runs the best glassmaking firm in the world...During dinner, I slipped out and I made a call...and I told her about you!" Flame's eyes widened, "They're looking for an intern! It could be an amazing opportunity!" Mrs. Ripple smiled.
"Really?" Flame's eyes light up with hope.
"It's a long way from the city, but it would be an incredible start! You have a bright future...look at me, I have an original Flame!" She smiled kindly as Flame chuckled nervously.
Flame turned to leave as (Y/N) sighed, "Hold up, I'll walk you out!" (Y/N) followed quickly.
The two walk outside as (Y/N) quickly catches up to Flame.
"Flame!" She pants, "Hold up, what's going on?" She faces Flame, concerned.
"I...can't believe she basically offered me a job!" Flame huffed.
"I know! Could be cool!!" (Y/N) smiled happily, "I'm so happy for you!" She faced Flame.
Flame's fire turned purple slightly, "Yeah, super cool, (Y/N)! I could move out and make glass in a faraway city! Do whatever I want!" He yelled.
"I don't...understand?" (Y/N) seemed hurt and confused.
"I'm going home.." He hopped on his motorcycle.
"Fine!" (Y/N) huffs and hops on the back, "But I'm coming with you!" She pouts as Flame couldn't help but slightly smile.
Flame drove off, still upset. But they both didn't notice Flame's Mother watching them leave.
Cinder saw it all.
