chapter 2 Nagisa avatar

Nagisa looked on in dismay. As soon as he had quit the game, there were no changes. He felt the same as he always had. He enjoyed this sense of relief, and sighed because of it, for neither his body nor his mind had changed. Looking at the clock he decided to make himself some dinner.

When he got downstairs, his mother was there. No words were exchanged. The frequent animosity that was only enlightened when he did not  dress as a girl, which was not frequently anymore. Dinner was spoken with few words exchanged. 'Clearly this game is a hoax, albeit a fun game it's rules are clearly incorrect. I knew it. Nothing can be proven until it's been tested, and oh boy, it's been tested now.'  With this sense of security firmly in Nagisa's mind, he decided that he would play the game after the allotted time for his banishment was up.

'What was the time again? 24 hours? I received the game at 4:00-ish and was it's been 5 minutes since I started dinner, 15 minutes to cook, so I died at roughly 7:20? Woah, I guess it plays in real time...'

Whilst Nagisa was sitting in bed he begun reading a book which until recently, never really crossed his mind. He picked up a philosophical book which explained in overly complex terms that there are an infinite number of Nagisas, in an infinite number of universes, doing an infinite number of things... Naturally, this would include all decisions and scenarios placed on Nagisa in his lifetime which playing out in the way it could, might mean an infinite number of disasters for our Nagisa. With this thought still in his mind, he turned the light out, and went to sleep.

As he awoke the next morning, he noticed differences. First of all, his room was pale blue instead of it's usual dark grey colour, secondly, there were many more chests and draws in his room, thirdly, he had a vanity mirror in his room, fourthly, his books were not by his bed or on a bookcase, in fact, there was no bookcase, finally, and this is the most important detail of all: his room had a television in it. With the game.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But was this the worst part? No. It was not. As 'he' stood up, 'he' felt lighter. And shorter. And his hair was down. His hair was never down. He checked the vanity mirror. There he was, in full glory, pale blue pyjamas, long, electric blue hair, rounded chest and with no... penis...

She flurried around, desperately trying to find some sort of all, brief inkling to her previous masculinity, but no. Alas! It seems the game did work after all. She wandered over to her laptop, it wasn't Windows, it was Apple 'Ugh, well, I might be able to sell it for money... Perhaps not like this though.'  she was pointing out the numerous stickers on the back of the screen and decided to touch as little as possible in this body.

"Come on sweetie! Time to get up!" Nagisa was terrified, but at the same time curious. Why was she curious? Well the voice came from that which he rarely hears. His father's. As she flailed, trying to find her school uniform she started noticing things which had previously been unseen to her. Pictures of friends, classmates, diaries, jewellery and so forth. But getting dressed was on the priorities list here.

From what he considers to be the worst part of the assassination island holiday, he learnt some basics of female dress. Blushing as she remembered what had happened he pulled out the plainest set of white bra and panties she could find. Putting one slender leg through each one of the designated spaces, she clipped the bra with great difficulty; clearly something that needed practising, she pulled on her black tights, wiped up the grey skirt and attempted the blouse. Oh the blouse. That was the bane of her life the moment she first attempted it, finally, after five minutes of fiddling around with each individual button, she tied the tie, packed the bag and ran to school on no breakfast, without once seeing her father.

As she made her way up to the mountain-top classroom, she was met with disdainful stares. 'What have I done to misplace their trust?'  As the Class E representative, Isogai came up to her with a slightly disapproving voice and asked her a question which immediately blew her mind.

"So, student council president. What brings you here? We were told that we would be inspected tomorrow."

As Nagisa looked around her, she noted the cold, icy stares emanating from each student. Having no idea how to react to this situation. Nagisa turned around and walked out. The glares of Karma, Terasaka, Isogai, Kayane, Chiba, Okuda and even the feel of Koro-Sensei's eyes on her back as she left.
