Chapter 8.

「 Todoroki's POV  」

I wondered a bit about Yaoyorozu, she seemed so.. absent, just now and a few days ago. Was she coming up with a cold..? I wasn't quite sure.

I was preparing my evening, tomorrow I was going to visit my mother, I had told her that last week, so I couldn't fall out on my promise now. I wondered what she was going to say, was I really going to tell her about my newly discovered feelings for Yaoyorozu? Perhaps, I wasn't entirely sure though, either way, she would probably find out if I hid it from her, so what was the point? She can see right through me when I'm hiding things, it could be a relieving feeling but still not, if I was hiding something that would be seen as embarrassing, I would have to tell her as soon as she saw through my stoic expression. I guess it was just something that mothers just had, naturally.

I was standing in the kitchen and making some cold soba noodles, I felt my heart beat a bit faster and I quickly put my hand over my heart, jesus, what was going on? This is love? Maybe I could ask her about that, I knew that Ashido had given me a vauge description of love before in the library, but it was still not something that I could understand, my mother was always good with her words, so I suppose that it would be the easiest option.

I let out a sigh when I finished my soba noodles, picking up the bowl and walking up towards my dorm room, I couldn't be bothered to talk to any of the other students because most of them made me exhausted in only a few minutes of talking. Everyone was so energetic and always jumped onto me with conclusions, opinions and worthless words. It felt like my brain short circuited every time that stuff happened, I often reatreated into my room whenever that happened and sat down with a book or listened to some music while studying, I live a boring life.

I sat down behind my desk and ate my soba noodles while reading a manga volume, furrowing my brow, I couldn't fully get into the reading as my mind was going places that I didn't want it to go, like my conciousness decided to defy my body and wandered off, pulling me along on a string to see whatever it decided to venture out to.

I closed the manga volume and closed my eyes, leaning backwards, letting my mind wander out to wherever it wanted to.

~Daydream~

I was sitting underneath a tree, holding a lizard-like creature. It had a big mouth and big eyes that were staring up at me. It blinked and kicked with one of it's six legs, I had decided to name the little lizard, Clyde. Clyde was going to be my new little friend on this journey in this dreamy world.

I stood up, holding Clyde in-between both of my hands as I looked around the forest that I had been placed in. The trees were lush and had bioluminescant moss running around the trunk and some hanging down from the branches. There was a small path between these trees, it had more bioluminescant flora growing beside the path.

I kept Clyde close to me as I started to walk down the path, I was unsure of where I was going, but it was beautiful in every way, no matter how I looked at it.

The sound of running water caught my attention and I slowly turned to my right, a waterfall, everything here seemed bioluminescant at this point, even parts of the waterfall was. The waterfall ran out into a deep lake that had some interesting flora growing at the bottom of it, at least as far as my eyes could see.

My chances of surviving down there in the water were slim, as I had no gear to go that deep.. But I suppose I had nothing to loose, except Clyde of course, but I'm sure that I would find him again on the road.

I gently placed Clyde down on a rock and his legs seemed to stick to the surface of it, which was odd, but practical.
I slowly started to take off my clothes so I could dive into the water without ruining them. This included a blue jacket with white seams, a white undershirt as well as a pair of snuggly fitting jeans.

After I had folded the clothing items I walked up to the water, poking the surface with my foot, gently. It was actually pretty warm, considering normal bodies of water that is.
I took a step into the water, to my surprise a gentle tingle was heard whenever I took a step deeper into the water.

I looked around for a source of the sounds when I had gotten to a deeper part of the river, the water was up to my waist now. I couldn't see anything that could have caused the tingles, which dove me into a slight confusion.
But over there, in the distance, was that..? That was a light, a gentle light in the distance, it wasn't big, it was small and shaped like a circle.

I took a step back and felt no ground underneath me, so I fell down into the depths of the river. I expected myself to be terrified at the feeling, but it was quite the opposite, I was calm. The silence of the river was calming, nobody here to disturb it.

To my surprise I could see very well under the water, and I seemed to have no need for oxygen, unlike what would be necessary in the real world. I was free to do whatever I wanted here.. No father to limit my freedom, I was in full control.

I started to swim downwards into the deeper parts of the river, I felt my confidence build up immensely as I reached the bottom, I must have been underwater for at least 15 minutes now, without any need for air.. This was fantastic..!

I saw something in the corner of my eye move and I immediately turned around, pushing my hair back to try and see clearly. That was definitely a tail of some sort I had seen.. It seemed to have chunky bones on the outside of it, nothing I had seen before.

I finally felt an emotion that I hadn't felt before in this world. Fear. A small feeling of fear was bubbling up inside me, however I couldn't stop myself from investigating in this creature that I had seen. Maybe it wasn't even real, but it was worth investigating.

I put my hand on the stem of a gigantic mushroom and pushed myself towards where I had seen the chunky tail. I felt myself peacefully glide through the water in search for this thing.

I managed to make myself through a smaller cave network and there, behind growing seaweed, I saw it again, it was still this time, almost as it had died.
My curiosity only grew as I swam towards the tail, my mind coming up with different ideas to what this could be.

I got close enough to the tail and put my hand on the top of it, which made it flinch, had I scared it? I pushed the seaweed aside and saw.. A girl? A woman with raven hair and jet black eyes, but who did the tail belong to?

Me and the girl kept eye contact for a while before she quickly looked away, trying to scoot backwards, as she slowly moved away I felt the tail underneath my hand move, then my brain connected it, a mermaid.. However the tail looked nothing like what we were told their tails look like.
It was sturdy and long, had spikes of bone running down the sides of it and ending at the end of it with a chunk of bones that made it look like a club of sorts, the fins were also made of bone.

A mermaid made out of bones.. What a find.. I took a closer look at the mermaid and saw that she had two almost transparent lines running down the side of her fin which mirrored on the other side, I could almost see some organs in the transparent line when all of a sudden it got a calm glow to it. I couldn't watch her more before she disappeared down into what looked like an endless abyss underneath us.

I smiled to myself and pushed myself off a ledge and up towards the surface.

Just as I emerged from thw surface-

~Boom, Daydream Over~

I opened my eyes and stared up at the ceiling, that experience.. Was something else, I would love to experience it again.. That mermaid made out of bones.. Kind of looked like Yaoyorozu in a way.. Maybe I was overthinking it, I most likely was.

I got out a notebook and quickly wrote the daydream down before closing it and breathing out, something to remember for sure..

I felt the feeling of tiredness wash over me as I stood up. It was getting a bit late, a bit earlier than I usually went to bed, but it would have to make due, the earlier I get to bed, the more sleep I could get, if my body decided to sleep for that long at least.

I brushed my teeth and walked to the bed, changing into PJ's before climbing into bed and making myself comfortable. I slowly but surely fell asleep while looking at the wall.

This is all I'm going to write for tonight, it got a bit longer than the usual chapters, I apologize for that!~
