Chapter 14.
「 Yaoyorozu's POV 」
I was sitting on my room, the annoying bird still with me. I had gotten a message from one of the students in the General Studies Department, Shinsou Hitoshi. I don't remember ever exchanging phone numbers with him, but I suppose it would have to make due. Maybe he used his quirk on me to get my phone number, or I had just forgotten the incident.
(The following italics are the texts)
Shinsou: "Yaoyorozu was it?"
Yaoyorozu: "Hm?"
Shinsou: "So you replied.. Well, I was thinking."
Shinsou: "You are one of the.. Sane students in the Heroics Department, so I wondered if you wanted to meet up sometime?"
Shinsou: "Get to know eachother a bit better."
Yaoyorozu: "Oh? Sure, I'd love to."
Yaoyorozu: "When are you free?"
Shinsou: "Not counting school, I'm free all day."
Yaoyorozu: "That's wonderful! Where did you want to meet up and when? I'm free as well!"
Shinsou: "I didn't come that far when I thought about it."
Shinsou: "What do you like to do?"
Yaoyorozu: "Anything, really."
Shinsou: "Not exactly making it easier for me here, Yaoyorozu."
Yaoyorozu: "Haha, my apologies, well.."
Shinsou: "Well?"
Yaoyorozu: "Well.. Considering we don't know eachother too well, we could go somewhere simpler?"
Shinsou: "What do you mean by that?"
Yaoyorozu: "Perhaps a café or a restaurant, a nice field of flowers, a simple walk. Small things, you know?"
Shinsou: "What would you count as bigger?"
Yaoyorozu: "Skydiving, scuba diving, uhm.."
Yaoyorozu: "Helicopter rides.."
Shinsou: "Alright, alright, I get it. There's a nice cat café not far from the school grounds."
Yaoyorozu: "Oh, a cat café! You like cats, right?"
Shinsou: "Yeah- where did you even find that out?"
Yaoyorozu: "I overheard you talking about cats with someone else from the General Studies Department, I happened to be passing you by during lunch and accidently heard it."
Shinsou: "Ah, okay. I need to be more careful, somone might know my weakness."
Yaoyorozu: "Is your weakness cats?"
Shinsou: ".. Yes, if I ever managed to become a hero, that would be my only weakness."
Yaoyorozu: "Oh, right.. Well, back to the main topic, when are we going to meet up?"
Shinsou: "Hm.. Tomorrow? After school?"
Yaoyorozu: "Oh, sure!"
Shinsou: "Great, I'll meet you up outside the 1-A classroom then. Sound?"
Yaoyorozu: "Yup! I'll see you then, Shinsou!"
I locked my phone and laid down on my bed again, I felt a gentle smile spread across my face. Shinsou had asked me to get to know him a bit better, I felt.. A bit honoured, his quirk was no doubt powerful, and he would have a pretty good shot at becoming a hero, it's a shame that he wasn't put in the Heroics Department. It made me feel a bit guilty and sad, considering what he had said during our short text conversation, I jumped to the conclusion that he wanted to become a hero. Which I don't blame him for.
I wanted to see everyone succeed and achieve their dreams, including Shinsou. Even though the first time I ever saw him, he was just as bad as Bakugou, personality wise. But during our exchanges of texts, he seemed nice. But I couldn't know how he really was through a screen. I doubt anyone really could, no matter how much they tried. Unless you had some kind of quirk to help you with that of course.
I started to think a bit, how much easier it would have been if you were in another department, no villains to come and try murder you and the rest of your class once a week. But I suppose they also have their encounters with villains, at least that's what I assumed. I would have to ask Shinsou tomorrow after school to see if that had ever happened to him. Maybe even talk to him about becoming a hero.
I sat up and gave the bird who was sitting on my windowsill a glare. Why wouldn't it leave? So far it had ruined one book and hid a few of my scrunchies, which would be impossible to find, because the bird was very small and could probably get into places I would never be able to fit through. Well, that was obvious, because it was a smaller animal.
I got up and tried to catch the bird again, however this time it refused to let itself get caught. It flew around in my room and landed ontop of a bookself, looking down at me and letting out a cheerful chirp. The soft tone of the bird filled the room and reached my ears. It was annoying, yes, but it had a wonderful singing voice. I couldn't help but sigh as I grabbed a chair and pulled it towards the bookself.
I climbed up onto the chair and tried to reach for the bird. When my hand got close to the bird it shot itself away from the bookself and to the chandelier hanging from the roof. The sudden movement of the bird scared me and I slipped off the chair, falling backwards and somehow managing to get my wrist behind my back as I landed. I felt a sharp pain run up my arm and down my spine as I worked myself up into a sitting position, I looked at my wrist, it had a redness and the sharp pain returned as soon as I tried to move it.
I let out another sigh, this was just my luck.. Wasn't it..? I got up from the floor and walked downstairs to get bandages so I could wrap my wrist in them. I would have to set up a trap for that damned bird or lure it outside to something.. Because this sure wasn't working.
;o what's this? I'm getting over my writers block, yay!
