Chapter 11.
「 Yaoyorozu's POV 」
I was in the locker room right before the hotspring, I was undressing and trying to keep my thoughts away from Todoroki. Something inside me was tugging at my heart, like it wanted me to do something, I wasn't sure what it wanted. I'm sure that it was an impulse feeling as usual.
I wrapped myself in a towel, it felt soft against my skin, such a gentle touch from an intimate object.. It felt nice and warm.
I walked out to the hotspring and got into the water, feeling my muscles relax in the heat of the water surrounding my body. I took a few deep breaths and pushed myself out to a deeper part of the hotspring. I found a comfortable spot and settled down, slowly closing my eyes and letting my body relax.
I wasn't sure how much time had passed when I finally managed to open my eyes, I was staring up at a massive rain cloud. I let out a sigh, maybe I should stay at my parents' place tonight.. Get my thoughts together..
~Another Timeskip!~
I was walking towards my parents' house, I wondered whether they were home or not, I hadn't even asked them if it was alright if I came over.. But they'd just have to deal with it I suppose.. If they were home that was.
I opened the gates and walked towards the front door, I listened to the chirping of the birds and the running water that went through the front yard of the house, I felt calm, a sense of peace. My shoulders relaxed a bit as I walked up to the front door, putting my hands on the handles, idling there for a bit.
I stood there in front of the door, waiting for something. I didn't know what, it felt a bit weird, as if something was missing. I bit my lip and tightened the grip around the door handles, trembling a bit before I managed to open the door and walked inside.
I heard the doors slam shut behind me, I took a deep breath, it smelled familiar.. That scent that only a home could have, something that made my muscles relax more than before. I looked down at the lush carpet underneath me as I took my shoes off. It was unusually quiet in the house, my parents were probably out somewhere with sponsors or friends..
I let out a sigh and walked out to a hallway, I could hear a bird from somewhere inside the house, which confused me. Had it flewn in through an open window or had they bought a bird all of a sudden?
I walked through the house, looking through the different rooms on the first floor, I was slowly but surely getting closer to where the chirps were coming from.
The sound of the chirping was.. Soft and frequent. It didn't sound distressed, but if I knew my parents, they would probably buy a parrot, a bigger bird, and not a small one, because of image purposes.
I got closer and closer to the birds chirping when finally, I opened the door to the dining hall and there, right on the windowsill sat a little bird, it's lower body was a lighter blue, almost cyan, while the upper body was a lighter green, it's wings had a slight black spot on the bottom of them while the head had a black streak by the eyes and cyan right underneath it. The birds stomach was white with some hints of brown on it.
After a closer look on the bird, I determined that it was probably a blue tailed bee eater that had managed to get in through a window, vent or an open door, either way, it was stuck inside and wanted to get out. How I was ever going to get close to it without scaring it to death was my only issue.
I looked at it for a while, following the pattern of it's feathers with my eyes, thinking. It was a beautiful bird, I couldn't deny that, it didn't seem hurt anywhere. But I couldn't be entirely sure, I felt like I needed to check somehow. I needed to gain its trust, it wasn't like I was going to be fast enough to be able to catch it, if it could still fly then it would probably fly up to a chandelier as soon as I came close to it, and if it did that I would never be able to catch it.
I decided to slowly sit down on a chair and create some bird seeds in the palm of my hand. The bird was watching me from where it was sitting, it had moved a bit on the windowsill when I moved the chair, it was cautious of me, and for good reason, I would be terrified if I was a bird in this situation.
~Timeskip forward, maybe 15 minutes of sitting still~
The bird finally flapped its wings and flew over to my hand, landing on my fingers and starting to eat the bird seeds.
It allowed me to check for any injures, which it thankfully didn't have. It seemed to trust me slightly, because I managed to stand up with the bird and move towards the backdoor while constantly creating more seeds to keep the bird on my hand.
I opened the backdoor and tried to get the bird off my hand, but it was keen on sitting there, it had eaten all the bird seeds and was looking at me as I tried tossing it into the air, but it was clinging onto my hand for dear life, eventually hopping up on my arm and making its way towards my shoulder, it was using it's beak to climb, and it hurt a bit as it did. This was bad, really bad, I didn't mean it to become like this, the bird was supposed to fly off to a tree somewhere, not stay with me..!
I'm going to leave this chapter here, I'm in a bit of a writers block when it comes to Yaomomo, so any suggestions would help me a lot! x
