34 | third time is the charm

"Come onnnnnn," You whine as you use all your strength to pull Ambrose out from his chair. Your head tilts back as your heels dig into the floor.

The chair he sits in moves slightly but he holds his ground. "Ugh, quit being annoying!" His prepubescent voice commands.

Your mother sighs from the table as she rubs at her forehead, a stack of paperwork in front of her. "It'll only take a second, Ambrose. Stop complaining and play with your sister. You don't do it nearly enough."

He stomps his foot hard on the ground. "But I don't want to!"

Her frustration for the lack of quiet snaps. "Why can't you be more like your brothers? Elijah and Malakai are helping her. Why can't you?"

"Ughhhh," He groans loudly before he forces himself up from the chair and out of your grip. Before he passes you up, he sends you the death stare for disrupting his peace.

Regardless of his intimidation, you smile in his wake. "I want a fairytale wedding like in this book." You explain to him as you hold it in your hands.

You lead all three of your brothers down the hall and into the ball room. In a small basket, you had plucked wildflowers from outside and placed them neatly inside. "Kai, you're going to throw the flowers."

You hand Kai the woven basket but before you do, you take out two handmade rings you made from the stems of the flowers. "Ambrose, you will carry the rings."

Finally, you turn to your oldest brother who was no more than 9 years old at the time. "You are going to be the priest, 'kay?"

"This is so stupid." Ambrose snarks. "You're six years old. Why are you getting married?"

"Just shut up and play along." Elijah warns. He had always been so mature for his age, even back then.

Kai scratches the side of his head. "Wait, who is the groom?"

"Uhhhh," You hadn't thought that far ahead yet. You turn your head every which way for the answer. The first thing to catch your eye was Pascal who was a puppy at the time and wagging his tail innocently. "Pascal?" You offer as you lift the dog into the air.

"You can't marry a dog, sicko!" Ambrose crosses his arms.

"Aw," Your lower lips pouts out. "So, then who?"

Almost as if it were divine timing, the doors open and Mama Kirstein and Jean, a decade younger, stumble into the ballroom. She was balancing bags in one arm and holding Jean's hand with the other. "Good morning, sorry we're late!"

All four of them turn to door and see Jean who was still half asleep and rubbing at his crusted eye ducts. Your eyes widen and sparkle all at once when you see him. "YOU!"

You rush up to him and pull him away from his mother. "YOU! Come here!"

He points a small finger at his chest. "Me?"

"Yup." You clarify as you drag him toward the front. "You're the one I'm going to marry."

"Wh-what?" He stutters as his sleepy legs attempt to keep up with you.

His mother giggles as she sets her things down. "How adorable."

You point at the floor next to Elijah. "Stand right there by Eli. Little more to the left... No, to the right. Perfect! Stay right there!"

When he's in the perfect position, you fix your wild locks of hair and adjust your dress. "Okay!"

You rip out a bouquet of flowers from a nearby vase, the vase almost tilting over and crashing unto the floor as you do. You then hold the flowers up to your chest and run toward the back of the room. "Close your eyes! Don't open them until I say so!"

Jean's skin was becoming damp to the touch as sweat began to form. Elijah quickly notices. "Don't worry, it'll be over before you'll know it. Just stand there and smile." He reassures the boy.

Jean nods. Ambrose yawns obnoxiously, and Kai begins to pluck the petals from the flowers and throws them in disarray into the air.

"More energy!" You yell at the flower boy from behind the curtain.

Jean looks over his shoulder and at his mother who was practically rolling with amusement. "I'm not actually getting married to her, am I?"

She laughs loudly, the sound echoing in the empty ballroom. "No, my darling. It's just pretend." She then leans in closer and whispers along side his ear. "But maybe one day you'll get to do it for real."

His face turns bright red and he gulps loudly just at the thought. The sound of your voice screaming, "Okay, I'm ready!" only makes him even more nervous.

You begin to walk down the aisle as you hum Here comes the bride. They all sat front and center as you dramatically make your entrance.

Finally, you stand before Jean and smile. Ambrose hands him the fake rings of twisted green vine and Jean clumsily slips them onto the wrong finger before you correct him.

Elijah holds up the book that gave you the sudden and abrupt motivation to get married this morning and pretends to read aloud from it. "Blah, blah, blah. You may now kiss the bride." He cuts to the chase.

The moment hits you as surreal when you hear the words. Blood rushes up to your face and you quickly command for everyone else to look away.

Ambrose groans and leaves the room, no longer having the energy to continue to entertain your daydream. Kai rolls his eyes before his hand comes up to cover them. Elijah humors you by smiling with his eyes closed.

Now it was only Jean who was looking at you. His hazel eyes were wide and full of both fear and nerves. His cheeks were turnip red and he kept messing anxiously at the collar of his shirt.

You feel your tiny heart pitter patter in your chest as your small fingers hold your bouquet tightly. "Eeee!" You throw the bouquet on the floor and slam both hands over your face. "I can't do it! I can't kiss him!"

Before you can say anything else, you take off running out the ballroom, leaving everyone else in your tracks.

Jean now stands there alone at the "altar." He look over at his mother and your two brothers who stuck around. "What did I do wrong?"

She chuckles and squats down to his level to pinch his cheeks. "Nothing. You were perfect. She just got cold feet."

Kai sighs and shoves the now empty basket toward Jean's chest. "Be glad. You probably dodged a bullet."

                                         ❧

You hear a knock on your door that was about the same speed in which your foot tapped against the floor. "Come in!"

Kai slowly sticks his head into the room, his hand over his eyes. "Can I look?"

"Sure." You respond from your seat. "I'm not dressed yet."

He throws the door open. "WHAT?!" He then shuts it as quickly as he can behind him. "What do you mean you're not dressed yet? You get married in 20 minutes!!"

"I know that!" You shout back. "I'll be ready soon. I just... I just need a moment, alright?"

He sighs and sits at the edge of your bed, his hand rubbing at his head. "You've been planning this wedding for three months now since you returned from Paris. Don't tell me you're just now starting to get cold feet? You know how much money is going into the wedding? How many people are out there waiting?"

"Can you just shut up for a second?!" You snap back at him. "I'm not getting cold feet. I just need a moment to just... think!"

"Think about what?" He sits up. "For as long as I could remember, you wanted to marry Jean. I mean seriously, since kids. What's the issue?"

"He isn't the issue." You clarify.

"Then what is?" He stands up from the bed. "Let me help you with whatever it is."

You look up at your brother from your seat. You were grateful he was even to offering to help even though you knew this was something he just couldn't fix for you.

You look toward the mirror, contemplating opening up to him or not. "I'm getting married."

"Obviously." He responds.

"My father isn't here to walk me down the aisle." Your voice says the words so quietly but the impact the sharp edges had on your throat were brutal. "I know there's bigger problems in the world than that. I know that."

"I can walk you down the stupid aisle." He tries to convince. "Dad would've slowed you down anyway."

You shake your head. "There's hundreds of people out there and not a single one of them are the people I always imagined to be here. Not mom. Not dad. Not Eli. Not Ambrose."

"What am I, chopped liver?" Kai tries his best to not take offense.

"I'm scared, Kai." You turn to him. "I've been engaged twice! Married once. I'm doing this again for the third time. I've had this planned in my head since a child and yet, all three times I've come close... it's never what I imagined."

"Since when do things ever go as planned?" He asks. "You're setting yourself up with an unreal expectation you created in your head as a child. You're not a kid anymore, you know that right?"

"Obviously." You respond dryly.

"Look." He squats down to be your level. "I'm sorry that this isn't happening on the first shot. You got engaged to Phoenix and then married Marco. Your luck with marriage isn't the best. We all know that."

Your eyes fall straight. "Is this supposed to make me feel better?"

"Give me a second, damn it!" He grows frustrated. "I know it didn't start off perfect. I know dad isn't here to walk you down and mom isn't here to make sure you look perfect. Elijah and Ambrose aren't here either. No one you wanted to be here is here. I'm sorry for that. If there was anything I could do about it, I would."

He reaches for your hand, the skin to skin contact feeling foreign for a second. "But I'm here. Haven't I also always been part of the plan? You want me to throw some crusty flowers into the air? I'll do it."

You laugh for a moment, reminiscing on the dried wildflowers you had forced him to throw long ago.

"But most importantly," He continues. "The one person who truly only matters is here with you today. The same person who was always in both the daydreams and when you would play pretend."

He doesn't even need to say the name. You smile as you do. "Jean."

"Jean." He repeats. "Who gives a shit about everything and everyone else? This is about you and him. As long as he is waiting for you at the end of the alter, nothing else fucking matters."

You feel your shoulders fall as your heart grows heavy. "But what if he isn't? What if I go out there and he's gone? What if I humiliate myself for yet the third time in a row?"

"You're an even bigger idiot if you think he's going to be anywhere but standing there." He says firmly. "This has been his dream just as long as it has been yours."

He groans as he stands back up on his feet and dusts off his suit. "Besides, I'll kick his ass if he embarrasses you, alright?"

You smile and nod. "Thank you. I needed this."

"Yeah, yeah." He adjusts his attire in the mirror. "Repay me by getting dressed. I want you out there in ten minutes, got it?"

"Okay, okay." You stand up. "I'll be out soon."

There's another knock on the door. Kai looks back at you before he opens it. "Also, I got you a surprise."

You stare back at him in confusion. "A surprise?"

Mikasa slips past the open door. His hair was much longer now and instead of its usual pin straight look, it was curled and thrown into a beautiful, elegant look. She smiles brightly when she sees you.

"Mika!!" You gasp as you run toward her and collapse into her arms. "You're here! You made it! I thought you weren't coming!"

She hugs you tightly for the first time in almost 8 months. "As if I would miss the biggest day of your life."

Kai smiles as he watches the stress fall from your shoulders. "I'll let you take it from here." He says as he pats Mikasa on the back. "TEN MINUTES, YN." He reminds you. "Not joking."

"I'll get her out of here in five." Mikasa replies as she releases you. She holds onto your shoulders as she admires how much you've grown in such a short amount of time. "Let's make you the best damn bride the world has ever seen."

                                         ❧

Jean paced the front of the room back and forth as every seat began to fill up. His mother was attempting to catch up with his movements as she tries to fix his hair. "She's coming, right?" He bites down on his nail.

"Of course, she is." His mother replies. She sticks her thumb into her mouth and uses the moisture to wipe away something from his face. "Ew, mom! Stop!" He groans.

"Would you prefer my spit?" A voice says behind Jean. The ash blonde quickly spins around to the find the owner of the sound and immediately sighs with relief. "Oh, thank god!"

He embraces Eren in a tight hug. "You made it." Jean sighs. "You've got to save me from this woman. She's driving me crazy." He whispers.

Eren pokes his head past Jean's shoulder and smiles at his mother. "Mama Kirstein, it's so good to see you. Each time I do I swear you look five years younger."

She giggles like a teenage girl and waves him off. Eren places a strong hand on his friend's shoulder. "Why don't you take a seat, Ms. Kirstein? I'll make sure Jean is ready."

She nods as she lets go off the reigns. Before she takes her seat, she places both hands on her son's face. "She'll be here."

As she finds her seat, Jean looks at the closed doors at the end of the aisle and then back at Eren. "She's late."

Eren looks down at his watch. "Five minutes left. She'll be here, don't worry. Mikasa is with her now."

For some reason, knowing Mikasa was with you helped calm his nerves. If anyone knew how to get you to do what you're supposed to, it was her.

Eren laughs and shakes Jean by the shoulder. "Geez, relax man! This is supposed to be the happiest day of your life! You look like you're about to shit yourself."

"Feels like I'm about to shit myself." Jean admits as his hand comes up to his torso. "Maybe I should use the restroom while I'm waiting."

"Aht," Eren stops him by placing a hand on his chest and pushing him back into place. "Too late. Look."

The music begins to play and everyone stands from their seats. Their backs all face away from Jean and stare toward the doors that began to pull apart.

Eren smirks and whispers by Jean's ear the second he sees a hint of your white dress poke out from the open crack of the doors. "Better hold in your shit."

You stand there, your dress gleaming in the chandler light and Kai linked to your arm beside you. Collective gasps of awe swim around the room as they admire the ethereal beauty before them.

"Oh..." Jean breathes out. "Wow."

Your eyes lift up from the floor as they look straight ahead. In perfect synchronicity, your eyes meet his and you both smile in harmony.

It felt unreal. He could've sworn he was dreaming. He had even contemplating asking Eren to pinch him for a moment.

A real life angel made his way toward him. He couldn't wrap his mind around how surreal you looked. Light. Perfect. Pure. Snow in human form. Oh, how desperately he wanted to hold it in his hands.

The walk felt like it lasted a million years. He wanted to jump down the steps and meet you halfway as if you'd melt on your way to him. His heart thumped loudly in his ears the closer you got.

In that moment, everyone else in the room faded away, including the one stuck to your arm. It was just you and him.

He had pictured this moment over and over in his head. Not just since he proposed but even before then. Since the moment he realized he loved you. Since the moment you forced him to pretend to marry you at seven years old.

It was finally here. This time it was real. There was no pretending. No daydream. It wasn't all in his head or yours. The time had finally come.

When you make it to the front, Kai releases your arm and kisses your cheek before he leaves you to stand alone. You make your way up the steps as Jean holds up his hand to help you.

When your fingers touch, you feel electricity shoot through your veins and adrenaline consumes you whole. Your smile widens as you meet his eyes. "Hi."

"Hi." He breathes out, speechless as he pulls you in front of him.

You hand Mikasa your bouquet as she scurries behind you. With your now vacant hands, you hold onto Jean's. "How are you feeling?" He whispers.

"Like my stomach is going to fall through my ass." You admit with a laugh.

He laughs too, his nerves unwinding when he realizes the feeling is mutual. "Any doubts?"

You look over at the crowd. Although there were people you were missing, you see faces you appreciated regardless. Historia sat toward the front, waving with a big toothy grin. Beside her, Jean's mother was already beginning to tear up.

Sasha and Niccolo sat behind her and shot you both a thumbs up. Both Kai and Eren stood behind Jean and send you winks of support. Mikasa quite physically had your back.

You look away from them all and back at your soon to be husband. You smile gracefully. "None at all."

His thumb caresses your knuckles as your hands continue to remain conjoined. The priest goes on and on with his speech but all the words echo far away as you both stare right into each other eyes in an attempt to picture the rest of your lives together from here on out.

"Jean Kirstein, do you take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife, to live together in matrimony, to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, to have and to hold, from this day forward, as long as you both shall live." The man says.

"I do." Jean says without hesitation. "Always."

The priest smiles before he faces you. "And do you, Queen Y/n of Eldia, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband, to live together in matrimony, to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, to have and to hold, from this day forward, as long as you both shall live."

You wink at Jean. "In sickness and in health."

"Then it is by the power vested in me," The man begins. "That I pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."

It was just as you had rehearsed all those years ago. Instead this time, you didn't squeal and run away from him. This time, he didn't look like he might pass out if you kissed him.

This time, for the third and final time, he takes you and he kisses you. He kisses you in a way that made all the other times seem as if they never happened. This moment was the only one that would replay endlessly in your memories for years to come.

As your lips come together, the crowd begins to cheer. Pink rose petals blast through the room like confetti and the band begins to play much louder. The amplified sound of people clapping and chanting swallowed your ears whole.

Your cheeks stretched impossibly as you smile. Jean places both hands on your face before he kisses you one more time. "My beautiful wife."

You do the same gesture. "And my handsome King."

Eren tackles Jean from the back and begins to whoop loudly like a gorilla as he teases him about pulling it off finally. Mikasa and Historia both rush up to congratulate you and hug you.

Although it wasn't perfect and everyone wasn't where they should've been, the memory would forever hold dear to your heart. It was a fairytale ending in its own weird, twisted way. It didn't matter how you had gotten to this point, you were infinitely grateful that the butterfly effect got you here regardless.

                                           ❧

People surround you pair by pair to offer up their sincerest congratulations. You could tell they all meant it unlike the day of your coronation. There were no weird, unnecessary comments about how your parents weren't there or how much trauma you suffered. It was all just genuine love.

You had narrowed your guest list down for that exact reason. Your coronation was out of your hands. It was mandatory that all residing kingdoms Eldia had business with needed to attend to be aware of the drastic changes. But your wedding? You made extra sure to select everyone carefully.

You were glad you had done it this way. There was nothing but pure love and joy in the atmosphere from everyone who approached you.

You weren't just grateful for yourself but for Jean as well who everyone made sure to acknowledge just as much. They all congratulate him on his new position as king and as a husband without any underlying bitterness between the words.

It was perfect.

You would sneak some looks in his direction to ensure he wasn't overwhelmed at any point but the permanent grin he had on his face made you realize you had nothing to worry about.

He was surrounded by friends and family who made him feel just as special as you had hoped. His mother was crying happy tears. Eren and Niccolo both hype him up as the new king. His brother Julien and your brother Kai both send him words of encouragement as icing on top.

Your heart was bursting with happiness and content. It seemed like the evening couldn't get any more perfect until you hear the sound of silverware tapping gently but firmly on a glass of champagne.

All heads turn to the sound and Kai stands at the center of the room, patiently waiting for everyone to put their attention onto him. "Well, as the only living member of the bride's family, I feel it's only necessary I make some big speech, right?"

Soft murmurs of laughter echo throughout the room. Kai chuckles awkwardly with relief when he sees the crowd was about to take the joke. "Here goes nothing."

He clears his throat. "Most of the time, the older brother gives a speech about how the new husband better treat her right. To be fair, that's because the brother has known his sister his entire life and not the husband."

His dark eyes meet Jean's. "In this case, it's not that way. I've known Jean just as long as I've known my sister. Because of this, I know with everything inside me how much these two truly deserve eachother."

He adjusts his footing as well as the grip of his glass. "They both have taught me things growing up. Embarrassing to admit but I will."

You smile in his direction, subliminally sending your support from across the room. He nods when he catches your telegraphic love from the distance.

"I've always been a weird kid." Kai begins. "My mom used to say I was emotionally stunted. I didn't process feelings the way normal kids would. I preferred to be alone and quiet. Hidden. That was what made sense to me."

He looks at you with eyes that are both sad and happy at the same time. "My sister is one of the most courageous people I've ever known. She loves deeply. Passionately. Even when the other person doesn't deserve it. She's never been scared to put her entire heart into something. She's loyal and kind. Thoughtful and caring. Even at such a young age."

He then turns to Jean. "Jean on the other hand was just as clueless about feelings as I was." He laughs. "But he was brave in another sense. He always put himself out there. Always stepped up when someone needed to. Would fall on his ass and get right back up. He was a force to be reckoned with."

Kai then turns his gaze back to the crowd. "They've both taught me how to be brave in such different ways. They both brought me out of the darkness and into the light. They both showed me what it means to no longer be scared."

He looks back at the newly married couple. "My sister has been in love with Jean since the moment she knew him. Jean has been in love with my sister since he the moment he knew what it even meant. Even with all the odds and obstacles in their way, they still managed to come together to stand here tonight united as one."

For a moment, you couldn't tell if it was just the way the light caught his eye but there was a glimmer of sheen spread across his dark irises. "I am so honored and so blessed to be able to witness a love so pure coming from two people so immensely important to me. It's truly a gift. Thank you for sharing it with me."

He raises his glass up to you and then gestures for the crowd to do the same. "To Jean and Yn, may their love reign as strongly as their hearts do combined."

"To King Jean and Queen Yn." The crowd repeats back before they take their sips from their glasses.

"Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?" You say once your glass leaves your lips.

"I could get used to it." Jean teases in return.

As the party goes back into the flow of things, you make your way over to your brother and hug him tightly before he can squirm away. "That was beautiful." You sniffle. "I never would've thought you had that in you."

He tries his best to wiggle out your grip. "It was humiliating." He admits. He then pulls away and admires the happiest he's ever seen you. "But it's worth it just to see that look on your face."

He hugs you one last time before he lets you go. "Enjoy the rest of your night, sister. It belongs to you and Jean only. Don't forget that."

He disappears into the crowd, probably off somewhere to reunite with his own lover who had just arrived a while ago. You decide to go do the same.

You were in the middle of dancing the night away with your new husband when you feel the sensation of a soft tap on your shoulder. You and Jean both stop and turn to see Armin standing there.

"Congratulations to the both of you." He smiles when you both meet his blue eyes.

"Thank you, Armin." You smile in return. Your eyes then catch the envelope in his hand. "You got us something? You didn't have to do that."

He jumps and lifts up the letter. "Oh, this isn't what you think it is." He holds it out to the both of you. "It's actually my letter of resignation."

"What?!" You take the letter from him and rip it open. You speedily rush through it while Jean tries his best to keep up over your shoulder. "You're leaving? Where?!"

Armin rubs the back of his neck. "Your parents hired me on as your teacher. You and Malakai are past the education level now so there really isn't a place for me anymore."

You shake your head and lower the letter. "But where are you leaving to? Why aren't you staying in Eldia? We can always offer you another job."

"I actually got a job offer in Cicily." He clears his throat to make his voice sound more clear and prominent. "Prince Phoenix offered me a position there."

"Cicily?!" You shout almost over the music. "What on earth are you going to do over there?"

He seemed to grow more nervous the more you spoke. "Well, I've always had a love for marine biology. You know this. And well, Cicily is surrounded by water so the marine life there is absolutely endless. I've only ever dreamt of places like that." He admits.

"I see." You were unable to disguise your sadness. You look at the letter of resignation one last time. "And the prince specifically requested for you?"

He nods. "We got to speak a lot during his time here. He's a brilliant man. He knows things that I can't even wrap my head around. He said he could show me an entirely different world than what I'm used to."

You watch as Armin's eyes grow wide with imagination and excitement. His energy and enthusiasm was almost contagious. "Well, I can't argue with that. Cicily certainly has things to offer than Eldia does not."

You sigh and bow your head. "Fine, I accept."

Armin blows air from his mouth as he sighs with relief. "Thank you, your highness. It truly was a pleasure working with you and your family for all these years. I'll never forget how kind and hospitable you all were to me. I just..."

"Need something new." You finish for him. "I get it. Trust me." You place a hand on his shoulder. "Go reach your fullest potential, Artlert. Lord knows you haven't even come close to it yet."

He grins and bows at an almost perfect 90 degree angle. "Thank you, your highness. And once again, congratulations to the two of you."

When he stands back up, he nods a goodbye and waves his hands in the air. Before he departs he says, "And don't worry, your highness. I'll make sure Phoenix is warm!" He winks.

Your mouth drops open and you look at Jean who had the exact same expression on his face. "Does he mean..."

Jean shakes his head. "I don't even wanna know."

You cover your mouth with your hand as you laugh. "Looks like we're not the only ones who get a happy ending after all."

He looks down at you with a smile, his hand coming up to your chin to lift your face. "Now that just wouldn't be fair to everyone else, would it?"

You scrunch your nose. "Screw 'em." You joke. "We're allowed to be selfish for the night."

He laughs before he plants a soft, wet kiss against your lips. "I'm fine with being selfish for the rest of our lives if it means we get to live in such bliss."

A new interruption appears except this time, it's Sasha and Niccolo. "Ouuu, look at the two lovebirds." Sasha coos as she elbows you playfully.

"Congratulations to the both of you." Niccolo beams. "I mean it from the bottom of my heart."

"Thank you." You respond. "Also, not just for the kind words but for all this!" You gesture to the eight foot table spread that had every inch covered with food. Not to mention the ginormous cake that rested in the center.

He waves it off as if it were nothing. "None of it it would've been possible if it weren't for you healing this." He raises the hand he almost lost completely in the midst of the madness. The same hand Sasha fought to bring you back to save.

Now it was your turn to brush it off. "Anytime, truly."

Sasha releases her clutch on Niccolo and bounces in front of you and Jean. "I know it may be too soon but I just can't hold it anymore! The question is eating me alive!"

You frown. "What's your question?"

"When are you two having babies?" She asks, her hands clutched together by her chest.

Jean begins to cough wildly as he chokes on his drink. You try your best not to laugh. "I'm not sure. We haven't really gotten that far."

She whines. "Awe. Well if you need help with names, I got you! Don't forget who stayed up hours and hours helping you achieve the perfect elbow angle to beat Ambrose." She reminds you. "Just saying. Ya know, in case it's a girl."

Niccolo nudges her. "Babe."

"What?!" She answers defensively. "I'm just saying! Sasha has a cute ring to it, doesn't it?"

He can't help but laugh. "They just got married two minutes ago. I don't think making babies is on their mind right now."

Sasha then turns to the both of you and grins. "Oh, I'm sure it is."

"Oooookay." You giggle as you attempt to get her to come off. "I think you've had too much to drink." You say as you take the glass from her. "We have some names in mind already but we'll add Sasha to the list, alright?"

"Promise?" She slurs.

"Promise." You laugh, hoping she doesn't remember the conversation tomorrow.

Niccolo mouths the words thank you before he pulls his girlfriend away and leaves you and Jean alone again. You turn to him and the second you're alone, the both of you burst into laughter.

"Man, this is a high I never want to come down from." Jean admits as he wipes a rouge tear from his eye.

You look around at the celebration around you. "Yeah, me either." You then shift your eyes to the side to look at him. "Although, making babies does sound like fun right now, doesn't it?"

His eyes widen as he looks at you. "Wait, seriously?"

You shove him playfully. "No, not seriously, dummy!"

His hand comes up to his chest as he fakes a heart attack. "Oh, thank goodness. You scared me for a second there."

"Buttttt," You sing as you come closer to him, your fingers slipping between the buttons of his shirt. "We could get some practice in. For you know, when we are ready."

The ends of his lips curl upward as he grins. "Now we're talking." He grabs your hand and darts out the ballroom before another soul can stop the two of you.

With no distractions, you both successfully sneak out of your own party and prepare to spend the rest of the night alone to consecrate your holy marriage.
