Chapter 24: Battles and The Wounds That Come With Them

"Christilia!" I yelled turning in all directions.
Where is she?
Lunacy continued laughing. She evidently thought this was hilarious.
"Well she certainly is helpful!" Lunacy remarked sarcastically.
"Shut up." I growled.
Lunacy didn't listen and instead went on to say:
"I mean, you two just had an argument about how she wanted to fight beside you and then she runs away? Seriously, how are you two in love? She's terrible!"
I spun around.
"You heard all that!?" I said shocked.
"Well duh! I was behind you the whole time!" Lunacy said.
I clenched my teeth in frustration.
Christilia isn't terrible you monster!
I turned back around. Lunacy grinned.
"Oops! Have I made you angry?"
I looked at her.
"Yes. Yes you have."
"I was—" Lunacy started, but I cut her off.
"And do you know what I do when a monster like yourself makes me angry?"
"No. No I don't." Lunacy replied.
I grinned.
"Well lucky you! You're about to find out!"
I lunged at Lunacy. Surprised, Lunacy tumbled over as I hit her and fell to the ground. I took that chance to blast her in the face, Lunacy screamed writhing in pain as my magic took effect. She stood up and I saw that I had cut her left ear clean off.
"You'll pay for that princess!" she gasped and hurled herself towards me.
The wind was knocked out of me and I struggled up gasping for air. Lunacy leapt at me once more, this time raking her claws across the back of my neck. I yelled out in agony and fell to the ground pain searing from the bleeding wounds. I tried to get up and fight back but the pain in my neck was enough to make my legs crumple beneath me.
"So this is what you do when you're mad!" Lunacy grinned. "Be a pathetic excuse for an alicorn? I can see you inherited your father's weakness!"
I looked up at her.
"I mean he just gave up!" Lunacy shrugged. "Aura was always an idiot after all."
I continued to look at her, confused. Lunacy rolled her eyes.
"Let's just say that when a king "disappears" even another dimension will find out some how! You didn't think I was alone all those years did you? No, no, no, far from it! There are creatures in my world that enjoy traveling to your world collecting gossip and all that."
"My... father... wasn't weak!" I said struggling to speak.
"Do you really believe that?" Lunacy bent down so that she and I were at eye level. "You were his daughter and he just left you to grow up on your own! I know he was "traumatized" or whatever, but that didn't change the fact that you were his child! Did it?"
"Y-your...wrong!" I said angrily.
Is she though? She isn't wrong... no he would never abandon me!
Lunacy just laughed. She stood up.
"I'm right!" Lunacy grinned maliciously. "And you are about to die!"
Her long horns started to glow, she was going to kill me! I realized there was no way I could escape, it was all over!
Heaven help me!
She lowered her head so that her horns were pointed directly at me and—
BLAM!
A pink bolt of light blasted Lunacy in the face and she was thrown backwards into the ground where she lay still. I attempted to turn around and failed.
Who did that?
Then I saw her. Christilia walked over to me and I saw that in her hooves were the tokens of kindness, honesty, and laughter.
"Y-your... Tokens Of......Peace! Y-you...used them?" I managed to blurt out. "How?"
"It turns out all you have to do is be in danger and all I have to do is want to save you!" Christilia smiled despite the danger we were both in.
Her face fell as she looked at my wounds.
"Are you ok?" she asked nervously. "You've lost a lot of blood!"
I looked down at the pool of sanguine fluid that was steadily growing larger and deeper around me. I grimaced.
"I'm... not... sure I am." I admitted. "It hurts... a lot."
Christilia's expression grew worried. She bent down to take a closer look at my wounds, she drew back almost immediately a look of horror on her face.
"My god!" she exclaimed.
"What.... i-is... it....?" I asked.
What did Lunacy do to me?
"Well........ the wounds seem... to go down all the way to the bone!"
I looked at Christilia.
How am I alive?
"Its a wonder you're still alive!" Christilia said, bewildered.
I started to hyperventilate.
Am I dying?
My thought dyed away as a loud roar sounded from behind me. I looked and saw that Lunacy had recovered and was walking towards me. I tried to make a force field to protect Christilia and myself but I was weak and my magic just flickered and died. I wasn't strong enough. It was up to Christilia to save our skins.
"Ah, Christilia you came crawling back to save your love?" Lunacy smirked. "How 'romantic'."
"I didn't crawl." Christilia said ignoring Lunacy's snarky comment.
Lunacy rolled her eyes sarcastically. Christilia growled. Nobody moved. Silence fell and they just stared at each other.
C,mon Christilia! Attack her!
But still no one moved.
I waited unable to move, breath coming in short gasps. When I thought this would last forever Christilia suddenly flew at Lunacy, but the Empress of Chaos was prepared. She blocked Christilia sending her flying, but Christilia caught herself and soared up before she could hit the ground, she hovered, wings beating like a hummingbird's a look of defiance on her face.

"Nice try." she growled. "But it'll take a lot more than that to beat me!"

"Good thing you're fighting me then!" Lunacy smiled. "I have a lot more than that!"

She hissed and flung herself at Christilia, Christilia dodged and caught Lunacy mid-jump, kicked Lunacy with her back legs sending the dragonequus falling towards the cobblestone street below, then blasted her in the back just as she was about to hit the ground. Lunacy hit the earth with a crash and didn't move.
Christilia crumpled with exhaustion on the ground, breathing hard. I sighed, relieved she'd won. Christilia got to her hooves and walked over to me, but the battle wasn't over yet. Lunacy rose from she had made when she'd hit the ground.

"Not. So. Fast." Lunacy growled, eyes glowing with anger.

Christilia spun around around and a blaze of light shot from her horn. Lunacy dodged and left at Christilia, the alicorn met her mid-air and both tumbled to the ground, writhing and yelling each trying to shove the other off. Lunacy grabbed Christilia's tail and flung her to the ground. She yelled as her back hit the stone and Lunacy laughed at her suffering. I tried to call out to her, to tell her to get up, to tell her to stay strong, but I couldn't speak. My lungs were already struggling to keep air flowing through my body and my voice gave out as soon as I tried to shout.

C,mon Christilia! Get up! Please get up!

My breath came in shorter and shorter gasps and my vision began to blur, the sounds around me became nothing but a ongoing ringing. I watched in horror as Lunacy stalked towards the limp figure of Christilia and her smile widened. She was going to kill her! And that's when everything went black.
