selfish
If one had assumed the scene what occurred weeks back would have made Mila afraid enough to face up to Alfredo then they would have been proved to be incorrect. It terrified her to no end, seeing him threaten someone's life so casually... just so casually walking about as if he owned the world; as if he owned her. It angered her that he felt he could have every single thing he wanted at the click of his fingers. Ignacio did not deserve any of the humiliation that Alfredo had caused him. In return Mila disappeared, taking an early leave. Only informing Della that she would be in Florida for a while. Gathering her thoughts. That she did, by the time she returned. Her anxiety had lessened down. She felt she was ready to face it all. In her mind, at-least because in reality... she stumbled back and forth between fear and anger. She wanted to confront him but she also did not want a short lived life. She wanted to hide but for how long? Her mind was in disarray. One thing she told herself she wouldn't miss was her Godson's birthday party. Mila decided to forget everything for a while, pretend this was her life before Alfredo came into the picture. Mila was going to confront him soon enough, the nightmares were unbearable. This couldn't rule her life forever. She would confront him but she would not inform him whom she really was in fear for her life and loved one's.

Felipé looked at his boss. He had never seen Alfredo like this in his whole nineteen years of looking after him. Not necessarily looking after him but being his shadow and protecting him from any harm. Alfredo heaved a sigh for what seemed like the hundredth time. Felipe was getting sick of it. Alfredo was watching his favorite telenovela, Forbidden Passions. He always repeated it and repeated. He felt it was somehow related to his sad reality, a dead first love and the second love refuses to be with him.
If only he knew there was one love; Mila Riviera.
"No, Bruno don't fall for her, she will break your heart and leave you in a ditch. She is a selfish cunning Perra Bruno!!" Alfredo yelled at the large screen television.
"She is just so selfish. Selfish, I tell you. She knew what you both shared on that last night of bliss and still went to kill herself. Selfish is what she is. You set her free and she still killed herself? Selfish." Alfredo added. Was he still talking about Forbidden Passions?
"You promised her you would come back for her and she still did it. She is selfish. She didn't care. She must be burning in hell." Felipe could only shake his head in despair.
"Ugh Bruno don't fall for it. She is just a cunning Pendeja. She gives you her all only to take it back so you can be left in agony. Selfish!!" This was not what a gang leader would be expected to be doing after having his heart broken years ago. It was as if he remembered it all like it had happened yesterday. He should be out killing and spreading blood on walls not getting mad at a television screen for a fictional story.
"Alfredo, you do realize the ending will always stay the same.." Felipe said softly. "No matter how many times you yell at Bruno who might I add, can't hear you." Alfredo turned to look at his bodyguard more like his babysitter. He stood there dressed in black, his head bald and his muscles bulging out of his black shirt.
"I know." Alfredo said throwing the remote on the other couch.
"I just want to feel even more sad than I am, does that make sense?" Alfredo asked. In any way Felipe acted more as a Father and brotherly figure to Alfredo for as long as they could both remember.
"It does." Felipe went to sit next to him.
"How about we go out today? This has got to be the longest Telenovela there is, it will take a whole month.." Felipe suggested. "We could go to any club of your choice and get you laid, yes?" Felipe convinced in Spanish. Alfredo immediately shook his head like a toddler. He was the softest, Garreth always warned him to not show this side of himself to anyone. He acted cold because it was all a facade.
"I want Mila." He said like a child, needing and begging for candy. Felipe immediately rolled his eyes, this was not going anywhere now was it? He might as well just tell him because this was becoming depressing.
"You want to know what is even more sad about Forbidden Passions?" Felipe said and Alfredo shook his head.
"Bianca actually died in real life and left a six year old child. This was her last telenovela.."
"You lie!!" Alfredo stood up in nothing but his boxers. It was a very cute scene.
"May I bring your MacBook so you can search for it?" Felipe added. Alfredo ran his hand through his jet black hair, his grey eyes flickered towards the Felipe.
"No." He said sternly.
"She is really dead?" He questioned again.
"Died in 2014." Felipe answered his question.
"We could arrange a call or meeting with Jencarlos Canela, your so called Bruno to answer these questions for you... you do know that you hold that much power-"
"No no.." That's alright.
"Either you're going to sit here and sulk about a telenovela or you're going to go to that seven year olds party and get Mila." Felipe added.
"Right, I forgot about that.." He said walking away before Felipe called for him.
"Alfredo?"
"Yes?" He turned back, intently listening to what Felipe had to say.
"Mila is your amour."
This knocked the air right out of his lungs. He blinked a few times, no it couldn't be. He hadn't known her name so he just always called her amour even with the tattoo that was inked right below his right bicep.
Alfredo chuckled.
"She is dead." Alfredo said.
"She killed herself because of me."
Felipe shrugged his huge shoulders. It was getting ridiculous and frankly he was tired of it all. "You want to believe that? Sure. I thought you would have figured it out by now."
Alfredo chuckled.
It wasn't happiness.
It wasn't anger.
It wasn't...
"Mila is my amour?" He questioned again.
"I could recognize her face from a mile away." Felipe added.
"Why didn't you say anything? Do you realize I could kill you for this? I could-"
"You won't do anything, I'm the closest thing you have to family." Felipe shrugged.
"I hate you." Alfredo whined.
"Go get dressed, I'm not Mila. I don't fancy seeing you in boxers." Felipe faked a frown. Alfredo didn't question it, his heart sat well with it. Mila really was his amour. He had a lot of questions, he wouldn't let her out of his sight not now, not ever.
"Tell Antonio to get the car, ready." Alfredo instructed.
"I thought you would never ask." Felipe said with a smile.
"Oh and Alfredo-"
"Yes?"
"If you're going to get her back, please make it fast. Pedro won't be able to hold up without us for that long." Felipe said, Pedro was the second in command who was taking care of everything that needed to be taken care of in Mexico. Alfredo was too happy to even think about that. He just needed to see Mila and hold her in his arms. Nothing would matter at that moment. Not even the Mafia that his father and great grandfather had worked so hard to uphold for years. He was willing to leave everything for her.
Mila his Amour.

"Hey Spence." Mila came into the dining room, she had been outside looking after the kids near the pool or rather taking pictures.
"Hey Mila, Alfredo has been looking for you." Spencer said with a smirk. It seemed he knew it would annoy her, anything to tick Mila off. Spencer remembered having a solid conversation with Alfredo where he whole heartedly admitted; he did not want Adela as a wife. He wanted off the deal and Spencer could outrun with. Alfredo had made it clear that he did not want anyone other than Mila. Patience was a virtue he had to learn with her. She needed time, Felipe was right. As much as Alfredo had wanted to take drastic actions in search for her; he knew being forceful would only push her away from him. After all, she already saw him as a criminal.
Mila groaned, the name Alfredo, itself made her skin crawl. She wanted to forget about the relations they had, had in the last few months.
"Isn't he back in Mexico by now?" She questioned. "Do whatever rapists and criminals do..." She added lowly but Spencer heard it. Seemingly he shrugged choosing to ignore the remark. This was not his business to butt into.
"Nope, he decided to stay for a bit." Spencer added.
"I actually invited him to my grandson's party. Poor young man is always locked up in his hotel suite. I hope you don't mind Della?" Garreth grinned said. At this point Mila looked at the old man with a cunning face of disgust. She thought she'd strangle Garreth, in her head... she already had.
"It's alright." Della said softly looking at her Bestfriend who gave her a look of disbelief, a 'wtf' look. Mila thought to herself, Alfredo is a son of a mafia... he wouldn't show up to a seven year olds birthday party obviously he wouldn't. Andre Levette had already walked away, he felt uncomfortable in his own home. Two murderers were amongst innocent little kids and another one would be on his way so called Alfredo.
As if right on time. Mila watched Alfredo putting his huge present amongst the rest of the other gifts. Mila clenched onto her glass gulping it in one goal as they made eye contact. It had been weeks and unsaid words were evident between their silence. Della thanked him, Mila looked else where. She looked as calm as could be but her body was in self destruction mode. Everything about him irked her. She hated herself for once finding him attractive. She thought of a lifetime when she did not know his name. Mila wished so badly to return to those peaceful times. Needing time out, she rushed to the man rooms in the Levette home. Discreetly, Alfredo followed. He was just as upset as she was. They both had different feelings regarding the whole situation. Alfredo had abandoned a lot of his Don duties back home just so he could wait for Mila to come around but timing was running out and he couldn't entertain this cat and mouse chase especially now that he knew who she really was. He had spent decades blaming himself for her death yet here she was alive and well. Being a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, this time he wouldn't let her slip out of his life again. They were destined to be together, that's why the attraction had been instant. No other woman had ever made him feel the way she did. They had not met at the right circumstances but—
"Alfredo, you can't force me to be in this room with you when I don't want to." Mila yelled at him. Within her anger she couldn't deny he was one devilishly handsome bastard. He was too up-close and it scared her. "Alfredo please tell your body guard to open the door before I scream.." There was no doubt they wouldn't be heard because of the music downstairs.
With a straight face, hands in his pocket Alfredo took a step forward closing the remaining distance between them and lightly whispered "Scream." as if daring her. His voice laced with amusement.
"I hate you." She sighed feeling defeated.
"And I love you, hermosa. I loved you when you were eighteen—" Mila's eyes bulged out. "I still love you now."
"What are you talking about?" She said nervously backing away from him only to hit the wall. Silence devoured the scene. Mila was shaking with fear, she could only think Ignacio had told on her because Della wouldn't. It had to be Ignacio, he had sold her out just so he could be safe and keep his good relations with McCarthy. Her tears were close. Glass eyed, they simply stared at each other replaying every scene from their past.
"You know what I'm talking about..." He hissed dangerously. Now they were so close, they were breathing the same air. His lips hovered over hers, it made her tremble. She hated her body for giving in.
"I'm afraid, I do not. Please don't be delusional. I have never came across you until that night—"
"The night of my eighteenth birthday." He dismissed.
"No, you're probably mistaken. The night at club Savannah."
"Don't fucking lie to me Mila." He hissed, his Mexican accent playing in tune. "Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant?" He asked her. Mila wanted to cry, she felt as if her demons were chasing her back from the past. She didn't want anything to do with the mafia. She loved her life here, she worked, had her own little apartment, went clubbing, got laid, baby sat Leo, traveled with her savings. She loved her life. She was comfortable with it. Alfredo wanted to complicate it all.
"I-" She stuttered. She finally broke. Realizing if she told him she didn't know she was pregnant at seventeen, she would have painted herself as a compulsive liar or an idiot. Mila assumed she had known earlier, perhaps she could have saved her child from her parents wreath and fake goodness.
"You thought I wouldn't want the child?" He asked emotionally.
"My parents decided for me, it wasn't my decision." Now Mila was crying heavily, Alfredo only wanted to hold her. "They even had multiple priests pray for me saying I had been tainted by the devil and the fact that I was once caring your child.. made it worse. Please, I beg of you. Please leave me alone, you ruined my life once... don't ruin it twice. I will pretend, I don't know your status... I won't say anything."
This hurt Alfredo, so they really saw him as the devil. Well from his stance if some mafia came and stole their innocent daughter only for her virginity then brought her back pregnant-
Personally Alfredo would have killed anyone who did that to his little girl.
"I'm sorry." Alfredo whispered bringing Mila into his arms. She was emotional. She was crying heavily not being able to control her emotions she leaned into his embrace seeking comfort even with knowing this was wrong. She couldn't help it, feeling beyond vulnerable.
"I looked for you.. but they told me you killed your self.. they even showed me your grave." He whispered as he rubbed circles on her back.
"I haven't seen them in years..." She mumbled, her tears were probably messing up his suit she thought, quickly pulling away from him. Felipe couldn't help but feel warm at the scene of his son and the girl he had longed for, a very long time.
"I apologize Mila, for taking your innocence without your permission. I won't blame my father or anyone but myself. I did that willingly, after laying my eyes on you lust took over my thoughts. It would have been noble of me to let you go or help you run away but I didn't. I played along.. and tainted you." He said softly.
"It's fine, I have forgotten about it. I just need to go help out downstairs now.." She excused herself but he pulled her back. "I love you Mila and I need you." He said calmly before letting her go, allowing Felipe to finally open the door. Mila was confused, as she wiped her tears. She was glad she didn't wear any make up. It would have been a mess. She didn't know how to feel about everything happening around her. It all felt like a distant dream. One thing she knew for sure was, perhaps Della was right her burden felt less heavier.
