ARNAV

I sat there watching Manav and Ansh rush around and handle everything for me, it was funny how they wouldn't let me do a thing. Khushi might have thought I never got her hint but I really did and if I was being honest I had been thinking about it for a while now, I just wanted for her to be ready so I could pop the question.

I still remember how much she loved everything that we did for Anjali's proposal and I knew she wanted a proposal like that, not something big but something cute and surprising for her, I'm sure every girl wanted that.

As I sat there, I remembered about the time I had given up on all my hopes and thought that my love was always going to be one sided, but here we were today, so much in love and so happy together that I couldn't wait to ask her to marry me.

I knew she was going to agree, after all she was the one that gave me the hint, I couldn't believe that tonight I was going to be engaged to the girl I had loved for so long, it all felt so exciting.

Who knew things would change like this right? I mean one moment she was telling me clearly that she dint want anything to do with me and then fast forward to a couple years later she was telling me that she was in love with me.

So far, that was the best memory I had and I never wanted to forget the exact moment she told me those words, I had been dying to hear them, and when she told me, I was on cloud nine.

"Earth to Arnav." Ansh waved his hands in front of my face.

"Sorry, I zoned out." I apologized as I looked around, the decorations were done, everything was set up, now the only thing left was for me to pop the question.

I had told Khushi that I would be taking her for a date tonight so that was sorted too, I had even picked out the most beautiful ring ever for her and now I was a little nervous.

I had also asked for permission from her mother so she knew what was going to happen tonight and she was also so happy for Khushi. Everything had finally fallen in place and I couldn't wait to start this new chapter of my life with her.

"How does it feel to be finally taking the big step?" Manav asked.

"Exciting... I have waited for this day for so long and it's finally here, I can't explain how happy I am."

"Just wait until she says yes, it will be another level of happiness." Manav smiled.

"I can't wait to see the happiness on her face either, everything is going to be so perfect."

"You guys are going to be perfect together. Now come on let's get going, you still have to get ready and then pick her up. Everything must happen according to our schedule." Ansh said.

I looked at my watch and realized I had like two hours left, I had to get back home and get ready for the date quickly and finally propose to her... oh I couldn't wait for it.

I stood at the door of her house nervously, I inhaled a deep breath as I pressed the door bell, her mother opened up that door and smiled at me, from the looks of it, I could say she was unable to contain her excitement.

"Khushi! Arnav is here, come on now." She shouted.

As a few seconds later, Khushi walked to the door, oh how gorgeous she looked. She was dressed in a beautiful white dress, her hair was curled and left open hanging till her waist, she had minimal make up on and she looked just perfect.

"Ready?" I smiled at her.

"What are you all dressed up for?" She asked looking at me from top to bottom.

"I dress up like this always." I said looking at myself, I was dressed in a three-piece suit, it was something I usually wore to work also.

"I know, I'm just messing with you. Anyway where are we going?" She asked as she walked out and headed towards the parking with me.

"You'll see... it's a nice place." I smiled as I opened the door for her, she got inside and settled down while I waved a goodbye at her mom who was still standing at the door looking at us knowing her daughter will come back with some big news tonight.

I drove us to the hotel where I had arranged for the proposal, I hadn't done anything extra, I just booked a garden table for us where we managed to do some simple decorations, it was going to be a cute dinner date until I would finally pop the question to her.

"What's going on in that head of yours? Why are you being so secretive today?" She looked at me curiously.

"I am not being secretive, I just found a nice hotel and thought I'd take you there for dinner, it's a pretty place you'll like it so relax." I smiled at her.

"Okay, if you say so."

She sat beside me silently while I kept on driving, she dint ask any more questions after that and just waited until we arrived.

I pulled up to the parking lot, parked the car and then rushed to open the door for her, I held her hand as she stepped out of the car and looked around.

I led her to the garden area where everything was set up while she looked around in awe.

"You were right, this is a beautiful place, I've never been here before." She smiled as she looked at all those tiny lights all around the garden.

"And that's our table." I smiled as I pointed towards our table.

"Wow, it's like we have this whole place to ourselves." She smiled as we settled down at the table.

"So, what's the plan?" She smirked at me.

"The usual, have dinner then go back to our place, you know the usual love making where you can't stop moaning my name." I smirked.

"Arnav!"

"See you're doing it now even." I teased making her blush.

I had already made sure our meals were prepared in advance so the waiters brought them to us as we ate our food, Khushi couldn't stop saying how yummy everything was and I was glad she liked it. This place did have some great food and that was one of the reasons why I chose it.

"I'm craving some dessert, should we get some cake or ice cream?" I looked at her.

"Sure, I think I'll have ice cream." She said, I looked at the waiter who took the hint and rushed to bring the ice cream. In no time he was back with two cups, he handed me one and the other one he handed to Khushi who started eating it immediately.

I stared at her while she ate it hoping that the ring would come up anytime soon.

"Why are you staring at me like that?" She laughed noticing how I was staring at her.

"Just... it's cute how you're eating it like a baby." I laughed.

She rolled her eyes and continued eating, a few scoops later, she finally noticed it, it was at the bottom of the cup, she picked it up and looked at it for a moment.

"This is disgusting, there's a ring in my ice cream Arnav." She pouted making weird faces and then she looked at me as realization hit her, I went down on one knee, taking the ring from her and holding it out.

Her eyes were moist already and she was trying so hard not to cry, she had this beautiful smile on her face that I had been dying to see since I started planning this whole proposal.

"Khushi... Will you marry me?" I asked.

She jumped up and down excitedly and nodded her head vigorously, it was cute and funny at the same time.

"Yes I will." She said as I slid the ring onto her finger, it fit her so perfectly and it looked so beautiful on her hands, I stood up and kissed her immediately.

"Oh... I love you so much Arnav." She pulled apart from the kiss and hugged me tight.

"I love you too Khushi." I smiled as I held her tightly.

She broke the hug and looked at her hand once again, she kept on staring at the ring for a while then looked at me with a huge smile.

"I love it, it's so beautiful... and Oh God, this was totally unexpected, I really thought it was just one of our normal dates." She smiled.

"I know... but hey I took your hint." I winked at her, she smiled as she cupped my face and pulled me closer smashing her lips against mine.

Here's to us, from thinking I'd never get to be with her to finally making her my fiancé, we had really come a long way.
