Part 13

I don't know if it was that my flirting skills were terrible, or if she wasn't noticing how much interested I was in her, every time I'd try to flirt with her, or anything, she would just take it as a joke or something. Or maybe she knew I was flirting and chose to ignore it?

I had been trying for like four months now, literally giving her so many hints but nothing seemed to be working, I tried everything I could but none of it managed to pass the message.

I obviously dint want to lose hope yet, but it was becoming frustrating, I dint even know if I should just tell her point black on what I felt towards her.

I mean in the past few months we had grown pretty close, she always had lunch with out and whenever she was free she would always hangout with us, it was like now we weren't just the three of us but the four of us.

"Why haven't you ordered anything yet?" I heard her voice, I lifted my head up and looked at her as she sat down opposite me.

"I was just waiting for Ansh and Manav and you to come so we could order." I replied.

"Oh okay... so what were you thinking about? You looked lost when I walked in." She asked.

"Have you found a boyfriend?" I asked and the immediately regretted asking the question.

"What? That's what you were thinking about?" She laughed.

"No, it's just a question..." I shrugged.

"No I haven't and maybe it's because I'm not looking for one. Did you think I had found someone?"

"No... So do you like anyone? Or have you noticed that maybe some guy likes you?"

"Nope, I don't like anyone like that and I don't think anyone likes me like that either."

"Are you sure? I mean from the entire college? You haven't even met or noticed maybe just one guy that you might have thought that liked you or something?" Seriously she never noticed? Why was she so oblivious? Anyone could notice how stupidly in love I was with her.

I mean if a stranger walked in here right now, they would also notice, but she dint notice. Oh God. She looked lost as if she was actually thinking if there was any guy interested in her, I was seated right here in front of her, she could just look at how I was looking at her and know it.

Why are you so oblivious Khushi?

"Nope, there's none!" She nodded negatively.

"Wow! I'll go order food." I said as I stood up in frustration and walked away from her. Jeez Arnav calm down, she isn't God, she can't know what you feel without telling her. It's not like I dint want to tell her, the problem was that I was scared of losing her as a friend.

What if I told her and she said she dint want anything to do with me? It would change the whole dynamic between us, and the last thing I wanted to do in the final few months of my life in college was to pretend that I was ignoring her.

"Bindiya! Fries as usual?" I shouted. She looked towards me and nodded excitedly, this girl ate a lot of junk, her lunch was usually fries and they were so unhealthy, I mean all that oil!

I walked back after placing the order and sat opposite her as I stared at her silently, she was staring at her phone having no idea that I was even looking at her.

A few minutes later Ansh and Manav walked in, they placed their order and then came with the food I had ordered for myself and Khushi. Khushi immediately started dipping her fries in the hot sauce as if she had been starving for ages.

"How do you not add weight despite eating fries daily? I'd eat for a day and my stomach pops out." Ansh looked at her in disbelief.

"What can I say, I am blessed with a great body." She giggled.

"Yeah but they aren't healthy!" I said in a serious tone.

"What's wrong with you Arnav, you sound really mad about something, did I do or say something to offend you?" She asked as she looked at me curiously.

It wasn't even her fault, I was just so frustrated with everything going on in my life right now. I mean I had like two or three months left until my final exams, and in all these previous months I hadn't even managed to give her a hint of what I felt towards her and it was just making me so angry, maybe I was doing something wrong.

"I'm sorry, I'm just... I have a lot going on." I sighed as I started eating my food while Manav and Ansh gave me looks but I ignored them.

In a while their food was ready too, but by then Khushi was done eating and she left for her classes while the three of us sat there as usual.

"So you want to tell us what's happening to you?" Ansh asked.

"Nothing." I shrugged.

"Lie to other people, you clearly look angry, what's going on Arnav." Manav asked.

"I am just... I talked to Khushi asked her if she thought any guy liked her or so you know indirectly and she said no, I mean all this month I've really been flirting with her any chance I get, I compliment her, I do stupidest things to give her hints but she hasn't noticed any of that? Why are girls so oblivious?" I said.

"So that's what's giving you mood swings." Ansh joked.

"I am not in the mood of jokes Ansh, we are going to be out of college soon, if I cant impress her now, I never will."

"Then how about you stop impressing her and just tell her how you feel?" Manav suggested.

"I can't do that! What if she rejects me, we won't be able to remain friends even, You know how awkward things get after confessions."

"You have no other option left Arnav, look you've tried everything you can, nothing has worked so far, maybe she thinks you're just joking so even if she knows that you're flirting with her, she must be taking it as a joke.

She won't know unless you tell her and maybe it's time to tell her what you feel and who knows maybe she will understand what you feel and try to make things work between you two, you've got to take your chances bro." Manav said.

"And what if she doesn't?"

"If she doesn't understand now, she won't understand in a few more months Arnav, I'm sure by now she knows you well and if she says she isn't interested in you, she wouldn't have been even if you told her on the last day. So how about you just end your frustration and confess to her already?"

"I agree with Manav, it's time you confess, you've flirted and tried to impress how, now it's time to let her know what you feel and see if any of it has worked." Ansh said.

"I am scared." I looked at the both nervously, this was a big thing, I dint know how I was even going to confess to her or anything.

"You still have to do it." Manav said.

"Okay fine, I'll think about it, plan on what to do and what to say then take her out to her nice place and talk to her, how does that sound?"

"Perfect." The both said together.

*****

At the end of the day, I waited for her at the parking lot, as usually, standing next to my bike. She walked towards me as soon as she saw me, it was as if she knew I was waiting for her.

"Hey, aren't you going home yet?" She asked.

"Nope Bindiya, I was actually waiting for you." I smiled.

"Why?"

"I just wanted to apologize about earlier today, I had some stuff going on and all so I'm sorry if I said something you might have not liked."

"It's okay, I get it. You don't have to apologize you just sounded mad but dint really say anything but so it's okay." She giggled.

"Okay great. So I had one more question for you and then I'll let you leave." I laughed.

"Okay, what question?" She looked at me curiously.

"Would you like to hang out, let's say weekend? Saturday or Sunday maybe? Whichever day you're free."

"Sure, where would we go?"

"I'll plan something and then let you know. Thanks for agreeing though, you can go home now." I smiled excitedly. She looked at me in confusion for a moment and then just smiled as she waved a goodbye and walked away. I figured I would think of something in a day or two and then plan accordingly, I just wanted to ask her earlier so she wouldn't make other plans for the weekend.

I was finally going to tell her how I felt, I had no idea what answer I was going to get but well, I hoped for the best.

Hopefully it was all going to work out just like I was imagining it to, please God be on my side this time, please.
