Chapter - 15
After acknowledging their family, Vineet and Anamika leave the house with Ansh. The ladies were not pleased but couldn't deny it as the child is really unwell and they don't want to risk his health though they still feel Anamika had done things purposely.
In the car, Vineet and Anamika were sitting in the backseat and the driver was on duty. Ansh was in his mother's lap, Anamika was not ready to leave him, she had held him tightly and securely to avoid any mishappening but Vineet felt she was in discomfort, her face says it all. She had been up since early morning and hadn't taken a rest. She was super active all the while but her body is tired and it needs rest.
"Ana, Ansh ko mujhe de do aur tum aaram sey baith jao, tum thak gayi ho!" He offered but she straightly denied.
"Main bhi usse ache se pakdunga, don't worry, please usse mujhe sambhalne do!" This time he requested, her motherly still doesn't agree but how can she not trust a father with his child? How can she stop him? She can't, so without a word, they securely place the boy in his arms, who took him in his custody with utmost care.
"Don't worry, he'll be fine!" Vineet assures her to which she just shook her head and rested her body on the back post.
Lately things are getting out of control, though they had been unbearable since the day she got married but now, she finds herself losing not just her - self but ruining the lives of her kids as well. Whatever happened today is totally unacceptable, even when her child is unwell the family is not ready to co-operate or provide her emotional support. Though Vineet is by her side and she doesn't feel good about it, why would he take her stand all of the sudden? He had never even cared about what she has been through all these years but in the past few days he's suddenly helping and supporting her, even arguing with his family. Why?
Is he really realizing things? Or is he just trying to be good in front of kids who had pointed it out a couple days back when he was unwell?
Anamika glanced at him, patting Ansh's back gently, calming him. Is he just being good? Really caring towards the child? Well, he does love the kids but his overwhelming care is doubtful, at least to her.
As she fought with her thoughts, juggling to make a clear point, the car halted. She brushes off her thoughts and descends the car, she holds the gate for him as he was holding the boy, Vineet smiles at her and descends. Together they move in and directly meet the doctor for their son.
The doctor did a brief checkup of the boy and let out a sigh.
"Kya hua doctor? Is there anything wrong?" Vineet enquires as he again takes his boy in his arms and settles before the doctor.
"No Mr. Vineet but your child needs attention. He's 4 years old and underweight, that's why the cut is bothering him this much because he lacks the strength. Your child is weak and you guys need to look into it. I'll write down the diet for him, please follow that. And the fever, it'll go by noon, still if it doesn't then I'm writing down a medicine give him that, just once!" The doctor instructed to which the couple shook their heads like obedient kids and take the leave.
Anamika let out a deep sigh as they move out. Just then she again receives a call from Aakash to which she tells him that she's already at the destination and cuts the call when Aakash tells her that he's at the entrance of the hospital. Moments later when both the couple meet, Aakash shows his gratitude towards Vineet and Anamika for getting the appointment for them while the couple just smile as they're grieved by the deteriorating health of their son. Aakash ask the matter finding the little boy in his father's arms. With a heavy heart Anamika told him the incident to which they sympathized with the boy.
As the atmosphere grew heavier, Vineet diverted the attention by reminding them about the appointment and the couples headed towards the gynecologist, Dr. Salini.
It was Vineet who first had a talk with Dr. Salini, while Aakash had held the boy securely, trying to feel the pain and emotion of a father who's pained because of the pain of his child but still chose to help a friend in need. Though Anamika wanted to have her but when Aakash insisted on holding Ansh, she was left with no choice but to let him.
Briefly discussing the matter, Dr. Salini asked Aakash and Aarti to prepare for some tests which they obeyed and moved in, handing back the boy to his parents.
Anamika finally got her boy in her arms, she sighs in relief and takes a seat in the sitting area. Vineet got coffee for two of them and offered her, without a word she took it.
"Ana, tum aab kyun itna tension le rahi ho? Doctor ne kaha na Ansh thik hai! I know he's weak, but he'll be fine, we'll take care of him!" She comforts her.
Anamika gazed at him, "Thanks Vineet! Tumne aaj itni help ki meri, Ansh ko yahan leke aaye, Aaksh ki help ki. Thank you for everything, it really means a lot!" She expresses only to surprise him.
"Thank you? Ana, why are you thanking me? Ansh mera bhi beta hai! Usse yahan lana mera farz hai! Tum aise kyun baat kar rahi ho? Hum jab aa rahe the tab bhi tum Ansh ko mujhe nahi de rahi thi, as if main usse gira dunga, aab tum mujhe thank you bol rahi ho, kyun? Ana, main uska baap hoon! Mujhe bhi uski fikar hai, main bhi uss se pyar karta hoon, aise thank you bol ke tum mujhe itna chota mehsus karwa rahi ho, i..." Vineet fell short of words as he found himself getting enraged, he grunted curling up his fingers in fist and turned away.
Anamika let out a laugh, "bahut jaldi tumhe tumhara farz yaad aaya! Bas das saal lage tumhe ye samajhne mei ki tumhare bache hai jiske taraf tumhara koi farz bhi hai, good! I appreciate your efforts and hope you'll abide by it nahi toh aisa na ho do din badh sab farz bhool jao jaise aab tak bhoole hue the!" She exclaims and again laughs.
Vineet didn't reply but felt humiliated.
As they sit there savoring their coffee, Aakash and Aarti join them, telling them about the test and hope for positive results to which Vineet assures them with the same. Having a brief talk, they leave the hospital. Before parting ways, Aaksh thanked Vineet for his help. Vineet smiled at his friend and told him to let him know if he needs any help in future. Aakash shook his head in affirmation and parted his way.
Anamika and Vineet too settled in their car and headed home. They reach their destination in no time and at the same time Advay to reach home, Anamika was relieved to see the boy. Together they moved in, the family was in the hall. Kaushalya immediately reaches them and takes the boy in her arms, asking about his health, to which Vineet throws light on what the doctor told them.
"Aabse main iska poora khayal rakhungi. Ye ladka khata hi nahi jaldi, uspe badmashi karta hai par aab main ispe poora dhyan rakhungi!" Kaushalya exclaims, determined.
"Agar koi bigadne ka ilzaam na lagaye toh!!" Bua spoke sarcastically.
Vineet was enraged but let it go, it's not the appropriate time to argue when his child is unwell. He just followed Anamika who took Advay in his room to help him change.
...
As the night falls and the ladies of the house excluding Anamika begin to discuss what to prepare for dinner. Anamika was with Ansh whose fever hadn't fallen. But as the lady started to put up a suggestion, the doorbell rang, a servant opened the door and called Kaushalya as a delivery guy at the doorstep. Kaushalya was confused but approached the person meanwhile Vineet reached the spot and before Kaushalya could proceed he paid for the parcel which the servant had already taken.
"Ismei kya hai bunnu?" Kaushalya asked her son.
"Khana hai maa! Ana Ansh ko chor ke aa nahi sakti aur aap teeno ki tabiyat bhi thik nahi rehti toh meine order kar dia taaki kisi ko pareshani na ho!" Vineet replied, explaining his point.
"Iski koi jarurat nahi thi beta, main kuch bana leti. Aur Ansh ko bahar ka kaise de sakte hai? Uski tabiyat thik nahi uspe bahar ka khayega toh aur bigad jaayegi. Nahi nahi!! Uske liye main kuch bana deti hoon!" Kaushalya exclaims, showing her concern for the little boy.
Vineet didn't stop her from preparing something for the boy, he just nodded and moved to his room but the oldies of the house certainly didn't like the change in the house though they can't speak a word for the fear of losing their son.
