Part 8
"We're going to Shimla tomorrow." Khushi said to Suman excitedly.
"For midterm break?"
"Yup and you have to come with me, I can't be just with my brothers the entire trip plus I know Prem would like it better if you come." She wiggled her eyebrows at Suman.
"Shut up." Suman rolled her eyes as she walked inside the class and Khushi followed her.
Once they were settled, their teacher walked in and started writing something on the cupboard, Khushi just stared at her silently pretending to concentrate but all she could concentrate on was Mr. Writer.
It had been over a month now since she started talking to him secretly and no one had any idea about it, she managed to keep it secret and it was going all well.
She liked talking to him about random stuff of telling him how her day at school was, he also told her a lot of things about his school and he would never let go of a chance to flirt around with her. Well if things kept going this way, she was sure she could start trusting him and maybe they can finally tell each other their real names and meet someday.
"Khushi." A piece of chalk hit her forehead.
"Yes ma'am"
"I asked you a question, answer it."
Khushi stood up wondering what question she had been asked, she was lost in thoughts about this guy she had never met that now she wasn't even concentrating in class, maybe this was why her brothers never wanted her to date, they knew she wouldn't concentrate on her studies if she dated.
"I'm sorry ma'am, what was the question again?" She asked nervously, while looking at Suman hoping for some hint but instead, Suman was looking at her in a weird way.
"Open your text book, page ninety four question number two." The teacher said, she nodded as she settled down and quickly opened her book. She had to stop thinking about Mr. Writer!

"What happened to you in the classroom today?" Suman asked once the class was over and they walked out for a short break.
"Nothing, I was just thinking about some stuff." Khushi shrugged.
"What stuff? I've never seen you not concentrate in class, it's strange." Suman looked at her curiously, of course she knew there was something Khushi was hiding from her.
"It's nothing seriously. Come we'll get some snacks from canteen, I'm hungry." Khushi grabbed Suman's arm and pulled her along.
"So you dint tell me, are you going to come or not?"
"I'll think about it, I have to ask mom for permission too."
"Oh please, your parents aren't even strict, I know they'll agree, you better be ready, we'll pick you up from your place at six in the morning." Khushi rolled her eyes.
"Okay, I'll come on one condition."
"What?"
"You won't try to fix me and Prem up, neither would you tease us or anything. I don't it to be awkward."
"Fine, at least you agreed to come. Do you think I should invite Krystle?" Khushi looked at Suman excitedly.
"She's a working lady Khushi, she doesn't have a midterm break like you do, neither does she own a business like your brothers that she would be able to come." Suman sighed.
"She works for my brothers, she can get an off if I talk to them."
"You know Arjun will know there's something fishy. Stop trying to play Cupid in everyone's lives, they would figure things out themselves, no one needs your help Khushi." Suman shrugged and walked away.
She seemed moody and mad about something, it was clear from the way she was talking.
"Why are you mad at me now? What did I do?" Khushi asked as she rushed behind her.
"Prem and I were okay before you started with the teasing and made it awkward, now he doesn't even look at me."
"So you are mad because I teased or because he doesn't look at you? Admit it Suman, you like him, you can't hide the fact forever!"
"Yes I like him but you also know nothing could ever happen between us, he wouldn't let it happen so stop teasing me about him and just let me try to forget that I had any sort of feelings for him okay?"
"If you say so. I'm sorry I dint know I was hurting you, I wouldn't do it on purpose you know right?" Khushi pouted.
"I know." Suman sighed.
*****
Khushi was really excited for the trip, every time she had any sort of break from school, her brothers would always plan to take her somewhere, even if it was a short trip, they really liked spoiling her.
The midterm break was usually four days which was enough for them to travel nearby and Khushi was the one to pick the place and this time she felt like visiting Shimla so they all decided to go there.
She had her stuff packed and she couldn't wait for morning so they would leave for the trip, she loved travelling so much. Once she was sure everything was packed, she lied down on the bed excitedly when her phone beeped, she picked it up and looked at the screen, she had a message from Mr. Writer which made her happier than she already was.
"Hey there talkative girl, you have been lost."
"Looks like you missed me." She replied immediately.
"I have to admit, I actually did. I had been busy with school so couldn't text you much, but now I have a midterm break so we can talk."
"Oh I have a break too, so what are you doing in the break?"
"Nothing really, just at home or will go around shop for college, I have like one month left to finish school, I'm excited. What are you plans for the break?"
"I'm travelling, I'm over excited, I love travelling so yeah those are my plans."
"Oh travelling to where?"
"Nice try, do you think I'd tell a stranger on the internet where I'm travelling? How am I supposed to be sure that you aren't a serial killer or a stalker?" She laughed as she typed the text.
"If I was, you would be dead by now."
"On a serious note, do you think you'll ever tell me your real name, or show me your picture? Do you think we would ever meet?"
"Okay slow down, I might think you are in love with me."
"You wish! Never happening writer guy. When I fall in love it won't be with a complete stranger online."
"My feelings are hurt."
"That was the intention. Anyway I'll talk to you tomorrow, I've got to wake up early so I'll get to bed, Goodnight."
"Goodnight Talkative girl, you can dream about me, you have my permission." A text came. Khushi just giggled as she put her phone aside and covered herself with a blanket.
*****
The next morning, Khushi was all set on time, she headed downstairs hoping her brothers were ready too, they had to go and pick suman too but it was okay as they were travelling with their own private van so they would just pick her up on the way.
She found Rudra and Prem seated in the hall, both looking at their phones.
"Where is Arjun?" Khushi pouted thinking he was still asleep or something, although it was unlike of Arjun to be asleep, he was the one that was always ready first.
"There he is." Prem said as he looked towards the entrance and saw Arjun walk in followed by Krystle.
"Oh My God! You're coming with us." Khushi smiled excitedly as she ran to hug Krystle, she never thought that Arjun could actually invite her to join, but if he did, it meant there was something starting between them and she felt so happy about it.
"Umm, so are you two dating already?" She whispered to Krystle.
"No. We've just become good friends over time so he invited me, nothing like you're thinking." Krystle laughed.
"Now I'm disappointed." Khushi pouted making her laugh even more.
"Okay you girls can have your secret discussion later, can we leave? We have a five hour journey." Rudra said as he grabbed his and Khushi's bag and they all headed outside. One by one they settled down in the car and then the driver drove off.
"Don't forget we have to pick Suman." Khushi said as she looked at Prem who was trying to hide the smile on his face. It was so clear he liked her, why wouldn't he just do something about it already? Why were her brothers so oblivious when it came to girls?
*****
"Finally! I'm hungry!" Khushi said as she stepped out of the van breathing fresh air. They arrived in Shimla at around twelve o'clock and now they had stopped at a restaurant to eat before they decided to go sightseeing or something.
"I need to use the washroom first." Suman said.
"Okay how about you order food and wait for us, we'll be back from the washroom." Khushi looked at her brothers and Krystle, they nodded as the picked a table and settled down while she headed to the washroom with Suman.
They asked one of the staff members for direction and ran towards it quickly when out of nowhere Khushi bumped into someone.
"What the hell." She said angrily.
"Okay all the best I need to rush." Suman said without stopping, she knew when things like this would happen, Khushi would argue for over an hour and right now she really needed to use the washroom.
"You! I know you." The guys standing in front of her said.
"I know you too." Khushi said as she kept on staring at him trying to remember where she met him. He was hot, she couldn't forget meeting him and then slowly the flashbacks came.
"You are the dupatta girl." Arnav laughed.
"What kind of a name is that? I mean I get it my veil got stuck in your watch but I have a good name, it's Khushi." She said.
"Nice to meet you once again Khushi, I think now that we keep meeting over and over again, it's good to know each other's names, I'm Arnav." He smiled as he held his hand out for a handshake.
Khushi stared at him wondering whether she should shake hands with him or not, she had never really had any form of physical contacts with other guys apart from her brothers.
"I wouldn't say it was really nice to meet you but yeah whatever." She shrugged as she finally shook his hand. When her hand touched his, she felt some sort of an adrenaline rush and butterflies in her stomach, maybe the butterflies were just because she was hungry but what about the adrenaline?
She just stared at him wondering why a simple touch from him was making her feel that way, was it because it was the first time she was shaking hands with a guy?
"Wow... that felt..."Arnav said as he pulled his hand off, making Khushi realize she wasn't the only one that felt that way.
When he shook his hand with her, he felt different, of course he had shaken hands with a lot of girls before but this was different, it made him feel different. Was it even possible for a person's touch to feel this way?
"I know right. Anyway got to go, good bye." Khushi said as she ran to the washroom looking confused while Arnav just laughed as he headed back to the table where his friends were waiting for him.
"Who was that hot girl you were talking to?" Krrish asked as Arnav settled down.
"I don't know, I mean we've crossed each other's paths a couple of times." Arnav said.
"She's so hot man, do you happen to have her number or something?" Ronit asked.
"I just met her a couple of times, how do you expect me to have her number?" Arnav asked.
"No wonder all you can do is flirt with a girl you don't know online. You should be flirting with girls like her in real life dude, next time you meet her, get her number." Ronit suggested.
"There's not going to be a next time, we just met by coincidence." Arnav said, although he was starting to wonder whether it was a coincidence or not.
Like meeting her twice in Mumbai was fine, it might be a coincidence, but now she was here in Shimla all over a sudden and out of all people he could have bumped into, why did he bump into her?
He brushed off the thought in his mind and concentrated on his food.
"So what should we do after this? I don't want to sit at home and get bored." Arnav asked his friends.
"We'll think about it after we are done eating." Krrish said to which both Arnav and Ronit nodded positively.
