Part 41
"What is wrong with you? Are you serious right now?" Prem shouted angrily, he stood up and started pacing around trying to calm himself.
"I mean all this while we've made sure she doesn't even talk to a guy and now you're just going to let her have guy friends? We did not agree on that." He said as he stopped in front of his laptop and looked at Rudra angrily.
"You know one day she will get married have her own life and she would have friends who are guys, it's not like we're going to force her forever not to talk to guys.
After whatever happened, I don't want to make the same mistakes again Prem. We were too strict for her and that's why she never told us about Arnav, I don't want the same thing to happen again, I want her to tell me about her friends so I can make sure they are the right kind of friends.
If we keep being strict she will still have friends and not tell us about it, so tell me, what do you think is the better option here?" Rudra asked.
"I agree with Rudra, we already risked her safety once, I mean what if Arnav was a serial killer or something and she dint tell us about him because we were too strict, a lot of things would have gone wrong." Arjun said.
"So what, now she can talk to all the guys and be friends with them?" Prem asked.
"Well even girls can be serial killers, it's not the gender that determines a person's character. Look the only way I've realized to keep her safe is to let her free, to trust her, to create friendship with her where she feels comfortable telling us about everyone she's interacting with, that way I would at least make sure they are the right kind of people and if not, I would warn her against them.
Look Prem, being strict got us nowhere, she still had a boyfriend behind our backs for a whole damn year, I am not making that mistake again." Rudra said.
"Fine do whatever you want, you guys never listen to me anyway." Prem said.
"You need to calm the hell down Prem. I get it, you love Khushi you want her to be safe but you are just too much, don't forget Arjun and I are elder than you and we agree upon this so you have to agree with us, because deep down you know it is the right thing to do.
And for heaven sake, calm your anger, if you keep getting angry about everything in life like this, you're going to have a lot of problems in the future.
Also, it's high time you talk to Suman and mend your relationship with her, I've had enough of your dramas. You are just punishing her for no reason, in real you are just angry at Khushi and at yourself, so for once do something right and stop being angry about everything." Rudra said.
Sometimes Prem's anger was out of nowhere, like no one would even understand his logic, he acted so harshly always.
"I thought the discussion was about Khushi." Prem said.
"You are also our brother Prem, we worry about your future just as much as we worry about Khushi's. You really need to so something about your anger, I'm serious." Rudra said.
"Don't worry, I'll handle it." Arjun assured Rudra as Prem just walked away angrily.
"Please do, I am worried about him. Anyway, how's everything there? The business, you and Krystle?"
"Everything is good, just normal." Arjun smiled.

Khushi walked through the corridors heading to her class when suddenly she felt someone's hand on her shoulder.
"Hello Khushiiii." Jake smiled at her.
"Hello, why are you being so friendly suddenly?" Khushi giggled nervously as she continued walking.
"What do you mean?" Jake asked.
"This." Khushi said as she pushed his hand out of her shoulder making Jake laugh.
"I'm sorry, I'm just used to being like this with my friends." He apologized.
"It's okay, I get it..."
"So, do you want to hang out with me and my friends after classes?"
"You mean with you and your guy friends? Me being the only girl there? No thanks. I'll be awkward the entire time. Also, if my brother found out I was hanging out with like five guys, you all are going to be dead." She giggled.
"Wow, you sound like you come from a very reserved family. So what's the deal with your brother?"
"Just a long story..."
"Okay then how about we hang out right here in college after classes, no other guys. Or will your brother kill me for it?" Jake laughed.
"Very funny." Khushi rolled her eyes as she walked away from him.
"See you after classes, on the bench." Jake shouted, Khushi just smiled to herself as she headed to her class, this guy was too friendly, but it was good, that way at least she had one friend.
*****
After her first class was over, Khushi walked to the bench where she would usually sit and call Arnav and talk to him for a while as around this time he was usually on lunch break.
She settled down on the bench and pulled out her phone to call Arnav, she tried to video call him as usual but the internet connection seemed to weak, it wasn't going through so she decided to wait a while and then try again later.
She sighed and looked around when she saw Jake approaching him, she just smiled as he walked towards her and sat down beside her.
"You aren't talking to your boyfriend today? Is the trouble in paradise already?" Jake asked.
"Just because I am not talking to him doesn't mean there's trouble." Khushi replied.
"Oh is that so?" Jake said as he suddenly snatched her phone from her.
"What are you trying to do with my phone, give it back!"
"Calling your boyfriend, I want to see him." He laughed as he looked at the screen where Arnav's contact was showing.
"Oh... so his name is Arnav, and you were calling him, so he dint pick or what? Let me call him for you, I see who he is." Jake teased.
"Dare you, I will punch you like you told me to punch that other guy." Khushi said as she tried to take the phone back but he stood up and started running around with it while she followed him trying to take the phone back, Arnav could get jealous if a guy called her from her phone out of nowhere, the last thing she wanted in their relationship was insecurities.
"Jake give it back!" Khushi shouted.
"Take it back." Jake said.
"I swear I will kill you! Jake!" Khushi ran behind him as he kept on running around for a while.
He stopped running around when he finally got tired, Khushi caught up with him and tried to take her phone back but he lifted his hand up in the air and he was of course taller than Khushi so she had to jump to try and reach it.
"Oh Jake come on! Please." She jumped a few times trying to take it but she couldn't just reach it.
"Jake!" Khushi shouted angrily now, he was literally testing her patience.
"Oh don't you love my name, you have said it like fifty times already." Jake teased her.
"Give me my phone back!" Khushi frowned, he just smiled as he finally handed her the phone back.
"I hate you for this!" She said as she walked back to the bench and sat down there frowning like a baby.
"Okay at least show me your boyfriend's picture." Jake followed her.
*****
"Is everything okay?" Saira asked as she sat down beside him and smiled.
"Yeah." Arnav shrugged.
"You look tensed, you don't look okay. What's up Arnav?" She looked at him worriedly.
"Khushi called me." He said.
"So? You should be happy about it, why do you look tensed?"
"She... I think she called by mistake or something. Anyway let it be, I have to go." He stood up quickly and walked away. He dint understand whether Khushi called him or it was a mistake, if she had actually called him, she would talk but all he could hear was her shouting Jake, Jake and Jake.
Who the hell was this Jake? He had some sort of rage building up inside him, whatever he heard on that call, she sounded like she was with a guy, he remembered her telling she had made a new friend but the conversation he heard was just making him uncomfortable.
"Relax Arnav, she already told you he's a friend, and you should trust her!" Arnav said to himself as he tried to calm down, he knew Khushi, he knew she would never do anything to hurt him, he was just getting worried for no reason.
He tried to brush off the thoughts as he headed back to his class just trying to convince himself that nothing was like he thought, it was just Khushi having fun with her friends.
