Part 30

Khushi stood in front of the mirror staring at her reflection, she liked how the black velvet dress hugged her figure and just highlighted her shape perfectly, it was so flattering.

Today was their first dating anniversary and Arnav had planned something for her which he wouldn't tell her about, he just got her a dress and told her to put it on for their date.

It was a pretty black dress with very thin straps and a V-neck, it was a velvety material with tiny silver studs all around giving it a beautiful look.

She looked at her watch realizing it was time for her to leave and Suman hadn't arrived to pick her up yet, of course she had to sneak out for her date, it wasn't like her brothers were okay with her dating and going out on dates.

For the past one year, she had actually tried so hard to keep it all from her brothers, despite Prem occasionally smelling something fishy and trying to keep an eye on her, she was lucky to have Suman by her side who always told her what Prem was up to and she somehow managed to make everything look normal.

She couldn't believe that it had been a year since they started dating, it just felt like yesterday that they had joined the college and now time had flown and it was already an year. Everything between them was so perfect, it was just like the fairytale she had though, of course they had their own share of fights and arguments but it was never something big, also it was very adventurous since the had to hide it, it was kind of fun though.

The amount of work they had put into keeping this from her brothers was kind of difficult at times, but they always managed to keep it a secret.

The door to her room opened up and Rudra walked in, he stopped and stared at her with his eyes wide open.

"Wow, I have never seen you dressed up like this before, you look beautiful." He smiled at her.

"I am growing up, my fashion is growing up too." Khushi giggled.

"Are you sure you aren't going to see a boy dressed up like this?" Rudra asked suspiciously.

"I have had the doubt since she told me she was going to a hens party with Suman, now looking at her dressed like this I am suspicious too. Who goes to a hens party so dressed up? This looks like a date." Prem said as he walked in.

"Jeez guys seriously, girls like to dress up unlike you guys wearing pajamas at your bachelors party." Khushi said.

"How did you even make a friend that's old enough to get married anyway, you are just nineteen?" Rudra asked.

"She was in my college finish her last year when I joined first year, we just hanged out and became friends." Khushi lied about her imaginary friend.

"What's her age again?" Prem asked.

"Twenty-three, why?"

"Who gets married at twenty-three?" Prem asked.

"Indians!" Khushi laughed, her brothers just nodded well it was common wasn't it, so many people got married at twenty also.

"So what are you girls exactly going to do?" Rudra asked.

"Just meet up go to a restaurant for dinner and take lots of pictures." Khushi said.

"You better not be drinking, I'll wait for you to come back home and check on you." Rudra said.

"Jeez relax you two, I am not going to see any guys neither am I going to drink, now can I go? Suman must be here already to pick me up."

"You know we are letting you go because she is going so it sounds kind of genuine." Prem said.

"You two should joined the police force ad do your detective work there, I'm heading off." Khushi rolled her eyes as she grabbed her clutch and headed downstairs, her brothers were getting really suspicious day by day, she wasn't sure how she was going to keep this from them any longer.

The problem was she dint want to keep it from them, she wanted to tell them all about it, but she couldn't, because they wouldn't understand.

She walked out of the mansion just as Suman's car drove in, she was happy that Suman was finally here, she was so done with the questions she was getting from her brothers. She just wanted to escape. Usually when Arjun was around he would take her side a bit but he had a date with Krystle tonight so he had left a while ago.

"Thank God you are here, I felt like I was going to get caught." Khushi rushed to hug Suman as soon as she stepped out of the car.

"Why, are they suspicious again?" Suman asked.

"When aren't they?" Khushi rolled her eyes. Prem came out to see her, of course he was going to come see her, that's why Khushi had told Suman to dress up when she was coming to pick her up or her brothers would never believe her.

"You look so pretty." Prem smiled as he walked towards her and hugged her, after he broke the hug he just stared at her for a while admiring her.

"Okay, we're getting late." Khushi said.

"Yeah fine go, but you better be home early." Prem said.

"Don't worry, I'll bring her back as soon as the party is over." Suman smiled at him, he nodded as he waited for us them get into the car and drive off.

"I don't like lying to him." Suman pouted.

"Do you think I like lying to them Suman? They never try to understand me." Khushi said sadly.

"You know he's going to get so mad at me if he finds out I had been hiding about you and Arnav, also helping you sneak out to go on dates with him. Look at the things I'm doing for you, I literally dressed up just so I could come pick you up." She said.

"That's why you are my best friend." Khushi smirked.

"If you and Arnav ever break up after I put so much effort into your relationship, I swear I'll murder you both." She said.

"Don't worry, we wont." Khushi smiled.

"Wow, you are quite serious while saying that, you're still a teenager Khushi, you still have a long way to go."

"Look who's talking, you just turned twenty a week ago." Khushi rolled her eyes making suman laugh.

*****

Suman parked the car outside a garden, Khushi had been here a couple of times, it was just a pretty floral garden, there was nothing else. She wondered how Arnav had planned a date here, what were they going to do.

"Go, celebrate your first anniversary. You two better kiss for real this time." Suman smirked.

"Shut up." Khushi blushed.

"What, you've dated for a year and the furthest you've gone is hugged each other and pecks on the cheeks, who would believe you two are dating." She laughed.

"Just because you and Prem kissed doesn't mean we should too... we're taking it slow." Khushi giggled as she stepped out of the car and sighed nervously.

"Call me when you're done, I'll come pick you up and Kiss!" She said as she laughed and drove away.

Khushi walked inside the garden nervously, it was pretty dark as it was at night and there were no lights on, but as soon as she stepped inside the gate, a bunch of lights turned on and she was left quite surprised.

"Happy anniversary baby." Arnav came from behind her, held her by the waist and pecked on her cheeks.

"Happy Anniversary. Arnav, this is so beautiful. It kind of reminds me of our first date, at your place when I sneaked out of the hotel, remember?" Khushi smiled.

"Of course, I remember, it's how I started liking you in the first place." Arnav smiled.

"You look so hot though." Khushi looked at him from top to bottom, he was dressed in a black shirt and a black trouser, it made him look so hot.

"You look hotter than me, this dress on you is just wow." Arnav said as he stared at her for a moment and then licked his lips in a very seductive manner which made Khushi blush.

He held her hand as he led her towards the setup he had created in between the garden. He had set up a carpet on the ground and then some cushions on the carpet and all around the cushions were small lamps forming a heart shape, he must have put so much efforts into it.

There was a picnic basket there which had the food in it, it was so simple and beautiful, she loved it. It was the kind of date where no one could actually disturb the also no distractions or anything, just them and their beautiful date.

"I can't believe it's been a year since we got together." He smiled.

"Neither can I, time flies don't it. I still feel like I haven't known you fully." Khushi giggled.

"Don't worry, we have forever to get to know each other, we will keep learning new things about each other even after ten years." He smiled. They both sat down on the couch as Khushi struggled to make sure she could sit well with the kind of dress she was wearing.

"Sorry, I should have picked a comfortable dress according to the date I had in mind." Arnav apologized.

"It's okay, besides I love this dress, it's so pretty." Khushi smiled.

"I love it because you make it look pretty." Arnav smirked making her blush. He then grabbed the basket and laid out the food on the carpet, he then served it on two plates and handed one to Khushi while he grabbed another one and sat beside her eating.

"Did you cook this?" Khushi asked.

"Not really, I ordered from a restaurant, I hope you like it though." He said.

"I love it." She smiled as she continued eating, there were three different dishes he had brought along, this date was just so perfect.

Once they were done eating, Arnav put everything back in the basket and then they both lied down on the cushions which was way comfortable for Khushi than sitting.

They stared at the stars silently for a while and then just looked at each other and smiled.

"What time are you supposed to go home?" Arnav asked.

"As soon as I can, my brothers were really suspicious today." Khushi sighed.

"Then I promise I wont keep you long, I just have one thing to say to you, I don't even know why I've waited so long to say it, I mean somehow we both knew it but never said it to each other." Arnav said.

"What is it?" Khushi asked as she tried to sit up.

"How about we just stand up instead, I can see how much you're struggling with the dress." He smiled, she nodded as she held his hand and stood up, they both looked at each other as Arnav cupped her face and looked her into the eyes.

"I love you Khushi... of course I dint realize it today, I just never knew how to say it, but today being our first dating anniversary I thought it would be better if I just said it, I mean we both know it's already gone from liking each other to loving each other. So, I just wanted you to know how much I love you and I really wish someday your brothers are going to understand that too." Arnav smiled.

"I love you too Arnav... it's funny how we've never said it out loud." Khushi giggled.

"it's okay, showing love is way important than saying the words and in the past year, you sneaking out to see me every time despite knowing how risky it was already showed me how much you loved me, also the little things you've been doing for me."

"It just feels good to say it though, and hearing you say it to me." She blushed.

"I know." Arnav said as he moved a step closer towards her closing the little gap that was left between them.

"Umm... Can I... God I can't believe I am so nervous about this." He laughed to which Khushi laughed too, she knew where he was going with this.

"Can I kiss you, and I don't mean on the cheeks?" He asked.

"Why have you never asked this before? Were you waiting for our anniversary?" Khushi giggled.

"No... we were just young... and I felt we should give it time and I know we aren't so much of adults yet but it's a start... Slow is always romantic." He smiled.

"I am nervous, I have never been kissed before." Khushi said."

"Neither have I ever kissed anyone before, it's both our first, I guess it will be perfect, only if you are up to it. I'll be okay if you're not ready." He said. Khushi grabbed his shirt immediately and pulled him closer as if there was any space left between them.

"Then kiss me already." She said, Arnav smirked for a moment and then he grabbed her face, bent over slightly and brushed his lips against hers, slowly parting her lips and he kissed her, they both shut their eyes experience how beautiful their first kiss was.
