Part 16
It was the first day of college, Khushi was pretty excited for it, she was all dressed up for the first day and was packing her books when her brother's walked in.
"Someone seems pretty excited for college." Rudra smiled.
"Yup." She smiled brightly.
"You know going to college doesn't mean you get to talk to boys yet right?" Arjun looked at her seriously.
"At this point I think I'm never going to get married in the future, you have some sort of phobia of seeing a guy anywhere near me." Khushi said as she sat down on the bed.
"You will, but right now it's time for you to concentrate on your studies only." Rudra said.
"Okay, I get it, you don't want me to talk to boys, you don't want me to date or even be friends with them or anything, but can I at least know why?
I was a kid in school, now I am not... I'm eighteen, I'm going to college, I at least deserve to know the reason behind it, why? What is it about?" Khushi asked.
Until today, anytime she brought up the topic, her brothers would just ignore it or tell her she was too small to know yet, how was she supposed to keep doing something without knowing why she had to do it in the first place?
"Khushi are you re..." Suman stopped at the door of her room when she found her talking to her brothers, he eyes went immediately on Prem, they both looked at each other awkwardly for a moment and then looked away.
"Yeah I'm ready, we should leave." Khushi smiled.
Suman's dad had bought Suman a car after she got accepted in the college to make her travelling easier so they both decided she would be picking Khushi up and dropping her daily because her place was just on the way, that way Prem would not have to drive Khushi daily and given that her brothers dint want to buy her a car yet, this was the only option.
It was surprising that they even agreed for her to be going with Suman, Khushi had been expecting drama when she decided to tell them about it, but it ended up turning out well.
"You haven't eaten breakfast Khushi." Arjun said.
"I'll ignore it like you've been ignoring my questions." Khushi shrugged as she picked up her stuff and headed out of the room, she grabbed Suman's arm and walked away.

Arnav was just putting on his shoes when Shaina walked in, she was already dressed in her school uniform ready to leave for school.
"So... ready to go to college?" She asked.
"Sort of... imagine what fun it would be if Khushi is going to be in the same college with me." He smiled.
"No wonder you are that excited, you just have this hopes that she's going to me there maybe." Shaina smirked.
"Well what can I say, I have started to believe its destiny." Arnav smirked as he stood up and grabbed his stuff so he could leave.
"All the best finding her, I hope she's in the same college." Shaina giggled as they both headed out of Arnav's room and to the hall where Padmini was already waiting for them so that they could have breakfast together.
"Your dad called earlier today, but you were asleep so he asked me not to wake you, he will call later in the evening." Padmini said to Arnav.
"Did he have something important to say?" Arnav asked.
"No, I think he just called to make sure you were okay and wish you luck for college." She smiled.
Arnav nodded as he picked up a plate served himself some food and ate quickly, he couldn't wait to go to college he just had some sort of good feeling about it.

After they arrived, Suman and Khushi headed the opposite ways as they were taking different course so their classes too were separate, they decided to meet at the parking lot later at lunch time.
Khushi heard her phone beep in her pocked while she was heading to class so she pulled it out of her pocked to read the text she had received from Mr. Writer. She had been so busy preparing for college and everything, she even forgot to text him.
The text had nothing important just a link to another short story he had posted on his page.
"I figure you want me to read this?" Khushi typed.
"Of course, you gave me a great review about my last story so I wanted your views on this one too."
"Okay, I've got a class to attend for now but I'll read later and judge it." She giggled as she pressed the send button.
"Waiting for the judgement."
She smiled stupidly as she started typing a reply once again but just then she bumped into someone.
"I am sorry I wasn't looking." She apologized immediately.
"Wow. I mean I am sorry I was busy on my phone too but wow." Arnav smiled. It was like God was granting all his wishes, at first he just hoped she was around and he met her at the mall and then he hoped that she was going to be in the same college and here she was, now what was left? Maybe for them to be in the same class? How exciting was that going to be right?
"I know, we keep bumping into each other. I hope you aren't following me." She folded her arms and looked at him seriously.
"Of course not, it looks like it's destiny." Arnav smiled.
"Maybe. So you're studying here now or you came to help your cousin again?" Khushi asked.
"No, I'm studying here, I am so glad that I met you, at least I will have a friend." He smiled.
"That's great, so what course are you in?"
"MBA, you?"
"Shut up! I'm also doing that. Wow seriously." Khushi smiled.
Maybe until today Arnav dint believe in fate or destiny but after he kept on bumping into Khushi every time, it was like destiny, he couldn't wait to spend time with her, get to know her better, he really liked her.
"So let's go to class together?" Arnav asked.
"Sure." Khushi nodded as she put her phone in the pocket and continued walking.
"Why dint you tell me before that you were planning to move here? I mean when we went for that date in Shimla?" Khushi asked.
"I wasn't sure of everything yet, but I'm glad we met again." Arnav smiled.
"Yeah me too, at least if we never make any other friends we can be each other's friends." Khushi smiled.
The walked inside their classroom where a few students were present, they picked up a spot and sat down together, Khushi pulled out her books and got them ready while Arnav just kept on staring at her.
It was unnatural how beautiful she was, no matter how much he tried, he couldn't take his eyes off her, it left him wondering why he was feeling this way about her.
Of course he knew he liked her, but this was something else, something you couldn't just define as like, but whatever it was, it felt so beautiful.
"I know I'm pretty, you don't have to stare Arnav." Khushi giggled as she caught him staring.
"That's right you are. How do you have such flawless skin, what's the secret?" He smirked.
"No secret really." Khushi laughed.
"Hey so I was wondering, would you like to go out for dinner or something again?" He asked. He hadn't planned on asking obviously, but he just couldn't stop himself, he really just wanted to spend time with her.
"You mean a date or just a normal dinner between two friends?" Khushi asked.
"Umm... I'm thinking a date. I mean in Shimla it was so perfect, and we just left it there because we thought we wouldn't meet again but we did, so don't you think we should give it a try?" Arnav looked at her nervously.
She remembered that date and how great it was, plus it was also her first date and yes Arnav did sound great and maybe if she had never talked to Mr. Writer, there were chances that she could be interested in Arnav but she liked Mr. Writer a lot.
Of course she hadn't met him, but that was the whole beautiful thing about it, liking someone for who they actually are as a person.
"Sorry, I think I asked too soon." Arnav apologized because Khushi was just staring at him blankly and she hadn't said anything for a while.
"No, no, it's not that I just... you remember I told you about my brothers, they would kill you and me if they ever found out." Khushi said.
"Yeah, I understand." Arnav smiled as he looked ahead trying to avoid looking at her, he just ended up making a fool out of himself.
Khushi just looked at him sadly, she did want to tell him that she liked someone else but she dint know what to answer him in case he asked who, he could make fun of her for liking someone she hadn't met.
