Part 13
Their last day in Shimla had been fun, they did a lot of things, went to visit lots of new places and all the while, in her mind, Khushi kept hoping that she was going to bump into Arnav one last time, since she came here, they had met some way or the other so she expected the same but it dint really happen.
They left for Mumbai after having lunch and as usual, everyone was asleep in the car except for her. The little experience she had with Arnav was so beautiful, just something she had always dreamt of that she couldn't stop thinking about it.
But well she knew that they weren't ever going to meet again, so she had to keep her hopes minimum, she dint want to think much about him so she decided to distract herself and the only thing she could do was text 'Mr. Writer."
She wasn't the type of a person to fall asleep in the car, no matter how tired she was, she would never sleep in the car and given that everyone else apart from the driver was asleep, she had nothing much to do.
'Hey Mr. Writer.' She hoped he was free and he could talk to her, she wanted to do all she could to take her mind off Arnav.
'Who's missing who now?' A reply popped up immediately making her smile.
'I was just bored, not missing you.'
'Excuse, Excuses.'
'If you don't stop flirting, I'll stop texting.'
'I told you before, I know you like my flirting so stop pretending.' She smiled stupidly as she read the text, he was right though, she did somehow like his flirting.
He sounded like a great happy kind of a person, he was always making her smile, he wrote good stuff too, so in short he was an interesting person.
'What are you doing? If you aren't busy, tell me some stories. I'm travelling and everyone else is asleep.'
'Why don't you sleep also?'
'Are you chasing me away? I can't sleep in the car, it's scary.'
'The last thing I would do is chase you, who would dare chase such a cute beautiful girl.'
'What makes you think I'm cute and beautiful?'
'What makes you think you aren't?'
'Jeez, isn't this too cliché. Just say good stuff to the girl and she would start liking you.' Khushi rolled her eyes as she typed the text.
'Is it working?'
'Maybe.' She giggled.
'Great, I've got a chance then.'
'Nope, stop dreaming.'
*****
Khushi headed upstairs to her room as soon as they arrived, because everyone else slept on the way, they weren't as tired as she was, so she headed to her room, freshened up and went to sleep, she had school the next day and she dint want to go feeling tired.
She lied down and shut her eyes and out of nowhere, she started thinking about her date with Arnav and everything and then her talks with Mr. Writer which lasted forever, they talked about so many things, got to know each other better, it was great.
She broke the rule, and not only with one guy but two, if her brothers ever found out, she was going to face the fire really bad.
Well she did hope they would never find out as she wasn't going to ever meet Arnav and Mr. Writer was just an online friend.
Just as she was falling asleep, her phone beeped, usually she would ignore it and sleep and check it when she woke up in the morning, but lately she had been weirdly excited to talk to Mr. Writer and every time her phone beeped, she kept hoping it was a text from him.
She picked up her phone and looked at the screen, and as she expected, it was a text from him so despite being so tired and sleepy she still decided to talk to him for a while.
Teenage attractions were so interesting weren't they?
*****
"Khushi" Arjun knocked at the door of her room as usual, but today Khushi was too sleepy to be able to wake up, she just rolled on the other side and continued with her sleep as her brothers kept knocking at the door.
After a few knocks, they walked in because she wouldn't respond, Arjun sat down beside her as he tried to wake her up.
"Khushi, wake up, it's time for school dear."
"I'm sleepy." She pouted.
"We know, but it's your final year, you can't miss any classes, come on hurry up, or Prem will also get late.
"Why can't I miss school just for one day?"
"Because studies are important, come one no more drama, get out of bed." Rudra said as he grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the bed.
"But I want to sleep."
"Sleep after school, now come on take a quick shower, I'm getting breakfast ready for you." Arjun said as he headed out of the room as Prem and Rudra stayed to make sure she got into the shower, once she took a shower she wouldn't be as sleepy.
For Khushi, it looked like staying up late last night and talking to her online friend was really causing her problems in the morning, but well it was worth it. The butterflies and the goosebumps she felt while talking to him or every time he would try to flirt were worth it.
"Okay now you two go out and let me get dressed." She shouted from the shower. Her brothers just laughed as they headed outside leaving her to get ready.
The all settled downstairs in the hall while Arjun made sure the breakfast was ready.
Just when he was done setting up the table, Khushi walked downstairs all ready for school. She couldn't wait to finish school and finally go to college, college always sounded more fun than school.
"Khushi, dint you go to sleep early? How come you're still tired?" Prem looked at her curiously once they all settled down at the breakfast table.
"Yea, you've had like ten hours of sleep if I'm not wrong." Rudra said.
"Excuse me, I'm a sleepy head, besides, you all slept in the car, I dint so I was more tired than you all." She pouted.
"Okay fine, come on now eat quickly so I can drop you to school." Prem said.
"Yeah, yeah, drop me to school and get a chance to meet y our lovely Suman." She smirked.
"Oh God! Not this again." Prem stood up angrily and walked away, he headed straight upstairs to his room and banged his door so loud they heard it even downstairs.
"What's wrong with him? It's not the first time Khushi teased him?" Rudra asked.
"Maybe all this time it dint matter but now it does." Khushi said still looking towards the direction of his room.
"What do you mean?" Arjun asked.
"You three brothers of mine and your stupid rule, I can't date any boy so neither of you can date a girl. It's clearly eating him up, maybe his feelings are no more just like, maybe it's more than that."
"And you know that because you're so mature?" Rudra looked at her.
"I might not be as mature as you three but at least I can see what my brother feels, he clearly likes Suman more than a lot and the fact that he can't do anything about his feelings is hurting him, we just saw how he reacted on it." Khushi replied angrily.
"It was his choice, no one force him to stay away from her."
"But your rule for me does force him to do exactly that, he doesn't want to be a hypocrite and he's right in his place. Why do you even have this rule? What could me talking to a guy or dating one do to me? Kill me?" Khushi asked angrily.
"Khushi!" Arjun looked at her angrily.
"Yes Arjun I am your sister and you care about me, but Prem is your brother, maybe you should care about him too." Khushi stood up as she headed out of the house angrily. She really couldn't understand why her brothers were doing this to her and to themselves.
Not that she was dying to date someone or anything, but it was having effects on Prem too which she wasn't liking at all.
She just hoped that with time things were going to get better.
She stood outside for a while just thinking about all this when she felt a hand on her shoulder she turned around and saw Prem standing behind her.
"I'm sorry for getting mad, I was just mad about something else."
"Are you sure it wasn't about Suman?" Khushi looked at him curiously.
"No, it wasn't about her. Now come on, I'll drop you to school." He smiled at her as he headed towards the car, Khushi just nodded and followed him. She did know he was lying, she just dint know for how long he was going to be able to keep up with the act that it wasn't about Suman.
