Prologue

Long ago, in a time when ancient cities were starting up, there were was a girl. She was said to be the most beautiful girl in the world. She had creamy skin, ebony black hair, large blue eyes, and a set of pink lips. Everywhere she went, spread happiness, and joy. She helped out as much as she could, either looking after the children, preparing dinner with her tribe members, or helping make the skins into clothes for everyone to wear.

The leader of her tribe was strict and cruel to everyone who talked to him. Though he had blond hair, and tan skin, his rough demeanor and steel grey eyes pierced everyone through the heart. Though he was cruel, when it came to his tribe, he ruled over it fairly, and always made sure his people were happy, even if it seemed like he didn't care.

One day, the girl was out collecting flowers to give to the children, when she accidentally came while the tribe leader was bathing in the lake. She had never met nor seen the leader till now, but from the moment she saw him she was mesmerized. At the time, his was back turned, but she could see the way his muscles moved as he cleaned himself. The water went up to his waist, thankfully, but even then, it showed a lot of skin. then in a flash, he turned around and saw her. Their eyes locked and it was love at first sight. But the girl ran, before he could even talk to her, in fear of getting in trouble.

The very next day, while the girl was helping the woman cook a meal, the leader pulled her away. the way he looked at her scared her, while at the same time excited. "How come I haven't seen you before?" he asked, his voice lough and rough. She sucked in her breath at the sound. Goosebumps formed on her skin at the sound. "I-I don't k-know," she stammers, "What did you want to ask me?" she asks, her blue eyes looking into his grey ones. "I-" but before he could finish he heard a ruckus from the fire. "I-I have to go help them"  she says, turning to walk over there before turning back. "It was nice to meet you," she says meekly, before walking back. She didn't know what came over her, but every time she saw him, her brain turned to mush. The leader sighed softly. He wanted her so badly, ever since he saw her yesterday. He sighed, before going back to help with men with the hunting.

A week went since the girl talked with the guy. Every so often though, she would catch him watching her though. The guy watched her whenever he could. He could watch her all day. The way she smiled and cared for the children, or when she helped the other women gather berries when another mother stayed behind to watch the kids. He knew her father, so during that day, a week after he talked to her, he walked to the girl's tent, and asked her father for his daughters hand in marriage. Her father said yes, making the leader smile a little for the first time in a while.

They were wedded the next day. It was a small wedding, just the brides family. That night was the first night she spent with him, and though it was nerve wracking to think of herself as a married woman, she was more then happy.

A few months after they were married, the couple were very much in love. Taking on the role as the female leader wasn't as hard as the girl initially thought. They were mainly the same jobs as she did before, she was just married to the leader of their tribe. At first, the leader had trouble opening up to her, but he eventually did. Over those months, the couple got closer, The girl loved when it was night, where they would share a passion filled night, before she would fall asleep in his arms.

One fateful morning though, she woke up early, running out of their shared tent and throwing up on the ground outside their tent. Her husband immediately ran out to her to check on her. She shooed him away, saying she was fine. She put on her skins, and did her normal duties. That was until, while working on some clothes, she fainted. The next time she opened her eyes, above her was their tribes healer and her husband. "Don't scare me like that again" he says, pulling a strand of hair away from her face. "Do you know why she fell like that?" her husband asked the healer. Woman checked the girl's forehead before placing her hand on the girls stomach. "She is with child, that is why she ended up like that in front of the women."

Months go by, and what the healer said was in fact true. Her belly started to protrude and grow round from being with child. And while the couple had there rough patches, usually silly fights, they were still in love as always.

Soon the girl's pregnancy came to end and she gave birth to a girl. It was rough but her husband, who she told could be like the other males and not be in the tent, stayed with her the whole time. Eventually though it came to an end and they had a happy baby girl.

Everyone in the tribe was happy and wanted to meet the new addition to the tribe. To the leader and his wife, everything seemed perfect.
That was, until that one day, that would change the tribe for the worse. The girl had taken her daughter to the lake to clean up. She didn't go far out into the water, and left her daughter on the sand, though she could see her. Just as she was done, she saw a jaguar near her baby. She screamed and ran to her baby, picking the child up and cradling the girl in her arms. The jaguar stalked towards them before lunging. Just as the jaguar was about the land on them, her husband came and took the blow. He fought of the jaguar as much as he could. Soon, the rest of the tribe came and attacked the jaguar, killing it. The girl ran with her daughter over to her lover, and saw the claw and bite marks all over his body. "You will be okay, I will get the healer," she said but her grabbed her free hand. "Don't, I am dying anyway," he says, his voice strained. "You will be okay!" She cried. He had to be okay. She didn't know what she would to without him. He was bleeding and there were puncture wounds in his torso. "Let me just hold you one more time," he croaks. She complies, crying into his chest, as everyone watched them. He held his wife and child close to him, as he said "I love you," before he took his last breath and died. She cried and stayed where she was, even after he died. Finally relenting to her mother, the girl walked back to her tent with her daughter, and into what was one the tent she shares with him. She laid on the furs and cried, clutching her daughter close to her.
A week later the girl fell ill. She was feverish and hallucinated about her husband. She wasn't able to feed her daughter. She started to get better after a few days, just as they thought she would be okay, she died that night in her sleep, leaving her daughter all on her own.
•••••••••••
Right after the leader died, his spirit came free from his body. He could hear the cries of his wife and daughter and it broke his heart. The tribe that night prayed for him during a funeral they held for him, and prayed for him to be with the gods. Right when they were doing that, he felt his spirit travel up into the sky and into a body. He looked the same, but the body was strong, and in fact immortal. He looked around to see if he was with the gods, but he was alone. He confusion to turned to joy when information started to come to him, telling him what happened and what he was. He had been turned into a god, not just any god, but the first god. He was the god of the sun, having died during the day. He watched from up in the sky his now mourning wife and his child, his heart still hurting every time he saw the look on their faces. He watched his wife grow sick, and came down to talk to her. He knew the people thought that she was hallucinating but in actuality, she was talking to him. Every night he would talk to her, before always giving a kiss to her and their daughter. He was there when she died that night. He took her up in the sky where she too became the same as he was. She became the moon goddess, due to the fact she died at night.
Their daughter, though still a a baby, became a burden to the tribe. She had no parents, and while they missed her parents, they didn't have time to take care of her, so they left her out in to forest to die. But a mother wolf came passing by and took the crying child in, raising her as if it were her own daughter. The now god and goddess watched the wolf raise their daughter, upset that the tribe didn't raise her.
When the girl was old enough that she might possibly understand the situation, the God and goddess came down and talked to her. They told her there story, and to go find some one special. The girl nodded but cried when they left. She always hated not being able to always understand the wolves, and the people who she finally understood left her. One day, while the pack was out hunting, the girl cried so loud that the goddess heard her daughter and granted her something. She let her daughter be able to change into a wolf.
Ever since, her daughter changed between forms. She eventually met a guy, and they got married, had many kids and died from old age. The god allowed the pair to become immortal as well, granting then each a power. The girl became the goddess of mates and her husband the god of destiny.
The gods watched human civilization develop, as well as the population of shifters grow. The god and goddess daughter told her kids the story of her parents. They then spread told their children till all the werewolves knew of them and looked to them as a symbol of hope.
Now the names of these gods had changed over the years until Rome came along. Roman culture spread so much that the werewolves all adopted the use of just calling the god an goddess by what they represented in Latin.
They called the god Solis, and the goddess Luna. They them called Solis's and Luna's daughter Amare and her husband Sors. While different countries would call the gods by different names, the gods were still the same.
