10 : I like you a lot

"Hey."

"Thiagooo," Constanze whined.

"I'm sorry, babe, I just want to tell you something and then we'll make out again like nothing happened, alright?"

"Did you just call me babe?" she smirked.

"I think I did."

"Okay," she shrugged. "Can we go back to us making out or do you wanna tell me your thing now?"

"My family wants to meet you," he blurted out, and suddenly, Constanze didn't want to make out anymore.

"Oh fuck," she mumbled. She sat up straight, taking her face into her hands.

"It's okay, Anze. Really."

"What if they don't like me?" she looked at him in the eyes. "Are you gonna break up with me even though you like me a lot?"

"That was a really bad imitation. I don't say a lot, I say a lot."

"I can't hear the difference."

"You can, you're just trying to annoy me," he smiled. "I'm not gonna break up with you and you know that. But I'm glad that the fact that I like you a lot is finally common knowledge."

"Well, you say it a lot," she shrugged, and he smiled.

"Do you know why?" he asked. "Because I mean it."

She smiled and took his face into her hands to kiss him.

"I like you a lot too."

"I know. That's why everything is going to be okay."

"Hey, sissy?"

"Yeah?"

"You need to chill. The Alcântara do Nascimento are a pretty cool family, really."

Constanze sighed.

Two days after the announcement, Thiago's family was in Munich. And she was about to meet them. And she wanted to die.

"I can't chill," she shook her head, and Mark was about to give her a pep talk when their father entered the room.

"Where are you going?" he asked her, and it was the first time since the "meeting" with Thiago that he was talking to her.

"I'm meeting Thiago's family," she said, a lump in her throat, and he simply nodded before turning around to arrange the cakes.

She was almost expecting him to apologize, but obviously, she was wrong. He didn't want to apology at all.

"Hey," she heard Thiago's voice behind her, and she turned around, smiling.

"Hey," she stood on her tiptoes to kiss him.

"You ready?" he asked. She nodded, and they both looked at Mark, who waved at them with a big smile on his face. "Let's go, then,"

The ride to Thiago's house was, unfortunately for Constanze, pretty quick. Ten minutes later, they were parked in front of the house, and she was still not ready to meet them.

However, she got out and suddenly, she had two arms around her body.

"Hi, Constanze! I'm so happy to meet you!"

"Thaisa! Let her breathe!" Thiago's voice said on the back in Spanish-Thaisa was speaking English to her.

"But I'm just being friendly!"

Constanze raised her head and smiled. She never saw Thaisa before, but woah, she was really pretty.

"I'm Thaisa, nice to meet you! You're so beautiful, Thiago was right!"

Constanze looked at Thiago with an eyebrow raised, but he pretend not to understand what was going on.

"Why were you two waiting for us here, anyway?" he asked to his siblings in English, and Constanze smiled at him because it meant a lot to her to understand what was going on even though he wasn't talking to her.

"Thaisa wanted to be the first one to meet your girl," Rafinha said before taking a step closer to the girls. "Hey again, Constanze."

"Hi again, Rafael," she smiled.

"You're lucky, I think that Thaisa loves you more than my girlfriend now."

"But I almost killed her," Constanze said, and Thiago shook his head, mentally facepalming himself.

"What, because of the cake? It's fine, I mean I should have noticed that I was eating blackberries. But I didn't. And I'm still alive because according to the doctors, I need to eat a lot of blackberries for the allergy to react. So you didn't almost kill me."

"See?" Thiago smiled, and Constanze nodded her head. "Let's get inside, shall we?"

The house was pretty quiet until the four of them entered the living room, where Iomar-Mr do Nascimento and Valéria-Mrs Alcântara were talking to each other.

And obviously Constanze was lost. They were speaking Spanish to each other, and she did study a little Spanish at school, but she had no vocabulary, let's not talk about the conjugation.

Valéria finally realized that her children-and Constanze-were back, and walk to be in front of Constanze, shaking her hand.

"Hi, Constanze, I'm Valéria, Thiago's mom," she said in a very good English, which makes the girl smiled. "So, why are you dating my son?"

"Mom!" said Thiago, but she wasn't listening to him.

"Money? Fame? Both?"

"Mom, what are you doing?" Rafael asked, as annoyed as his brother-Thaisa was biting her lip, and Constanze was just speechless, her heart broken in a million pieces already.

"I'm just getting to know her!" she answered.

"Really? Because you never asked that kind of questions to Kate when you meet her for the first time."

"Yeah, well, Kate isn't eight years younger than you!"

Rafael shook his head showing his inconvenience, and Thiago started to laugh ironically.

"So that's the problem? Is that a problem for you too, dad?" he looked at him.

"Son..." he sighed, and Thiago nodded. He didn't say a word, but clearly, he was mad.

"You are dating an 18 years old, Thiago!" she said, and Constanze was tired of this.

"No," she said. "He is not dating me. We are dating each other. So, yes, Thiago is 26, and yes, I'm 18. Yes, he was 8 when I was born, and yes, it is a pretty important gap. But does that really matter?"

She shook her head and left the room. She only started to cry once in Thiago's room, the door closed behind her, but a few seconds later, Thiago opened the door.

"Fuck, Anze, I'm sorry," he said, taking her face into his hands, wiping the tears with his thumbs.

"It's okay, you shouldn't have followed me," she shook her head, trying to calm herself down.

"Of course I had to, you were right."

"Yes but they are your family," she shrugged, and he shook her head.

"And you're my girlfriend and I'm in love with you so they don't have the power," he smiled.

"Now is really not the time to say that," she shook her head again, but she couldn't help but smile.

"You're 18 and I'm 26, and I'm in love with you, Constanze. And what people think about that is not gonna change my feelings a bit."

She nodded her head, and he smiled.

"Do you want to leave? I really won't be mad if you do."

"I'm here to eat with you and your family, I'm not leaving," she smiled. "I just need to go to the bathroom."

"Sure," Thiago nodded, and she went to the bathroom connected to the room. "Thaisa, you can stop hiding yourself."

The girl opened the front door, pouting.

"I wasn't hiding! I just came to make sure that she was okay as well, and now she is because her boyfriend is goals," she smiled.

"You do like her, mmh?" he asked.

"Of course I do. But it shouldn't matter."

"It does. Your opinions matter. But that's not gonna change anything."
