"Hey, wanna buy me some Biggby's?" Shelby's younger sister, Michelle, asked, glancing down at Shelby as they walked down Central City.
The tanner sibling rolled her eyes. "If you want coffee, buy it yourself."
"I don't have any money." Michelle whined, stomping her feet slightly.
"Well I won't either if I keep buying you shit." The older sister grumbled, stuffing her hands in the pockets of her shorts.
"Don't walk like that, the people in the cars can see you." Michelle grumbled, looking over reluctantly at the stream of cars passed by. "Someone could recognize us."
"Well, it's a free country, so I can walk with my hands in my pocket if I want to." Shelby responded with a teasing smile.
"You're so stupid." Michelle grumbled, slightly irritated now.
"Ay! Ya two! Tern 'round a gander 'ere for a sec."
"See, ya can't jus' go shou'in at young ones like that, yeh waster."
Michelle glanced back anxiously. "Are... Those two talking to us?"
Shelby huffed. "Just keep walking. They'll cut it out eventually."
"Come on now! We're completely lost."
"Stop bein' so annoying, Jack. We can find the airport on our own."
Shelby glanced back now, out of pure curiosity. It was two men, although they were completely different ages. One was far taller, with pale skin, dusty brown, unkept hair, and glaring jade eyes with thick eyebrows similar to England's. Next to him was a much younger boy, probably a bit younger than Michelle, with porcelain skin that was covered heavily with freckles. His hair was so ginger, the messy locks could easily pass for pieces of an orange peel. His eyes were the exact same as his partners, however, and his eyebrows were thinner, yet twice as bushy. His smile was bright, and he waved at Shelby eagerly. "Ye, howya. Me and me brother 'ere are tryna find the airport. Ya got a clue?"
"You're in the wrong city. Metropolitan is in Romulus." Shelby called back.
"Yeah? Well, I don't know if ya could tell, but we ain't from 'round here. We ain't got a clue where the hell Romulus is. Could ye stop and jus' help for a sec? Then ya can crack on with yer business." The older one asked, his accent thick and obliviously Irish.
"Ummm, okay I guess." Shelby stopped, causing Michelle pause too and cross her arms in frustration.
"Ahhhhh, there we go. Thanks for the help, er, what's ya name?" The younger one asked.
"Shelby. This is Michelle." The curly-haired brunette responded.
"Well, I'm the Republic of Ireland, but ya can call me Jack. This is me older brother, James. He's Northern Ireland."
The sterner country nodded. "What's the story?"
"Huh?" Michelle inquired.
"Means hello." James explained curtly. He handed Shelby his phone. "Could ye put the address of the airport in the GPS?"
"Sure thing." Shelby muttered, taking the phone and typing rapidly. All the while, Jack was watching Shelby with an intense interest, while Michelle seemed utterly lost, probably at the fact that these two men just called themselves Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Finally, Jack spoke, not taking his eyes off of Shelby as she handed the phone back to James. "Ya know, ya look exactly like the young one in Alfred's phone."
Shelby raised a brow. "Why were you in Alfred's phone?"
"That's not important. How do ya know 'im?"
"Well, if you must know, I'm the state of Michigan." Shelby explained. "This," she pointed to Michelle, "is my lovely assistant." Michelle gave her an completely puzzled look, which Shelby refused to acknowledge.
"Well, thank ya, Michigan. Yer a real help. Come on, get." James grabbed Jack roughly and began pulling him away. "We got a ways to walk."
"See ya, Shelby! See ya, Michelle!" The Republic waved, and the girls turned away, beginning to walk again.
"What the hell was that?" Michelle inquired.
"I have no clue. Obviously, they were crazy. I was just playing along with it. Sometimes it sets them off if you don't." Shelby lied. She pretended to shake off the encounter, but really, she was quite satisfied, knowing she had finally met all the countries where her family had come from at some point.
Meanwhile, the Ireland brothers were making their way through Romulus, when Jack let out a cruel chuckle. "Yer a eejit if ya believe that story she gave us."
Northern Ireland glanced down at his younger brother. "Crack on."
"That one young wasn't no state. She was just a gal. That was a guff if I've ever heard one." Jack explained, looking up at James with a sly grin. "She lied straight ta ya damn face."
Northern Ireland looked to the ground, his eyes hardening. "Ya think so?"
"I know a lie when I hear one." His brother answered, shrugging.
James pursed his lips. "Keep yer mouth shut. I don't wanna start somethin' if it's not for certain."
