CXX. Blind [Dreamtalia Crossover]

First off; this drabble is absolutely awful. But I easily spent over a week writing it so I didn't like the idea of scrapping it, and I followed it to the finish.

Second, I know World takes the form of America is Dreamtalia, but I wanted it to be Reve, not World. My Drabble, my way fam.

Third, like Hope's Dreamtalia drabble, the real America will be referred to as America. Reve disguised as America will be referred to as Alfred. This makes more sense because I've made a point that my Drabble self tries to always refer to Alfred as Alfred, to make him feel more human.

All right, that should be all. Try to enjoy, I guess.

"We don't have time for this." Germany muttered as the group maneuvered their way through the dim castle. They had accidentally come across it after rescuing Romano, and England thought it was best to check and make sure that none of the countries were trapped there by Fauchereve. Unfortunately, once they entered, they couldn't find their way out. It was getting dimmer and dimmer as they went forward, and it was set up like a maze, filled with dead ends.

"As much as I hate to agree with the potato bastard," grumbled Romano from somewhere in the dark, "we have no idea where we are or what we're doing. Now we're completely fucking lost. Up a creek without a damn paddle." After a few moments, there was the sound of dry-heaving.

"Romano, are you okay?" Spain's voice asked anxiously.

"Yes, I just made myself sick from agreeing with the meat sack." Romano stated.

"How mature." Austria added in a snide comment.

"Maybe it's good that it's getting darker." Canada suggested in the shadows. "We could see when we first entered, and now it's almost completely pitch black."

"Ahh, I see." Japan said. "The waning light means we are nearing the middle of the castle."

"And whoever lives here may be residing in the middle of this maze." France finished.

"Exactly." Canada said.

"But if we can't see, how will we know that we've reached the middle?" China asked from somewhere in the darkness.

"Hey, shut up." Prussia hissed. "I think I can hear voices."

The group of countries fell silent as they stumbled forward. Once they quit the chatter, they realized quickly that Prussia was right for once.

"Can you find Cassiopeia?"

"Yes, right there."

There was a hearty laugh that was all too familiar. "How am I supposed to know if you're pointing to the right spot?"

"Alfred, are you doubting my skills?"

"Well, maybe~ Find Cepheus and I might change my mind."

"Alfred?" America's voice was flat.

"I have a feeling one of our mortal friends may have fallen victim to Fauchereve's sleeping fantasies." Russia muttered.

"There. There he is." The female voice stated finally.

"Took you long enough."

"You know I always have trouble find Cepheus."

"But you did it. You're so smart."

"Well, it would be embarrassing not to find him. After all, you are my Cepheus."

"And you are Cassiopeia, my Queen."

"That's Shelby." America growled. "He's talking to Shelby."

"Why does that matter to you?" England asked. "I thought you two broke up."

"We did." America's voice was bitter with remorse. "There was a misunderstanding between us. I thought she was using me, she kept a secret."

"Ah, but America is in love, and true love's bonds are too hard to break." The others could practically hear the smile in France's voice.

"Shelby's mind must have been weakened by the emotional toll of the breakup." China ventured. "It made her an easy target, aru."

America let out a frustrated sigh, "This is all my fault. I have to snap her out of this!" America broke away from the group, his footsteps ceasing to echo as if he had left the cement floor of the castle.

"America, no! She is not aware Fauchereve is not you! We have to take this slowly!" England shouted.

"I'LL TAKE THIS SLOWLY WHEN I'M DEAD OLD MAN!" America shouted. He continued to race forward, trying to see something, anything, but it was as if he was walking with his eyes closed. The ground under his feet felt as though he was now treading on grass.

He listened hard for Shelby's voice, but it was no longer there. He was left alone with the sound of his own heartbeat. He wanted to call out to her so badly, but he didn't want to give his position away.

Suddenly, he felt something cold and sharp press against the front of his neck, and he stopped dead in his tracks. "Stop moving if you know what's good for you." Shelby voice stated. She was right in front of him, yet he couldn't see her.

"America? America, where did you go?" England's voice demanded several feet away.

"There are more here." America's voice growled, but America hadn't spoken.

"Turn on the lights." Shelby's voice commanded.

"... are you sure, honey?"

"I don't need to see them."

"... As you wish."

The sudden change in lighting blinded America at first. He blinked, his pupils dilating to match his new surroundings. In front of him stood Shelby, her body shrouded in a loose, dark blue cloth that shimmered with what looked like millions are stars. The brightest stars were in the shape of a dented, upside down triangle. Her eyelids painted black and littered thickly with white glitter. Her eyes themselves were completely unfocused and pale, but the two swords she held in her hands were perfectly placed on America's throat. Her skin, paler than normal, was etched with marks resembling stars.

"... Shelby?" America muttered, hardly able to recognize her.

"Here I am called Two of Swords." She stated. Behind her was a spitting image of America, but his eyes were far more blue, and he wore shimmering cloth similar to Two of Sword's, though the brightest stars were in the shape of a rotated Y. She lowered the two swords, the golden words "Sirius" and "Arcturus" branded on the weapons. "I suggest you leave while I'm still in a good mood."

"No, you have to come with us." America urged, reaching forward. "You're in a dream right now." He grabbed Two of Sword's wrist.

Instantly, she yanked it away, taking a step back as she glared in his general direction. "I know, dumbass. You think I know how to use swords in real life?" She hissed.

"That sounds like a normal Shelby to me." England muttered.

"She must be a lucid dreamer like me." Austria pointed out.

Canada frowned. "Which means she's here by choice."

"Well, that's really stupid." Prussia laughed. "She can't even see in her dream."

"She sees all she wants to see. Which is only what you can see at night." Alfred stated, his glare extremely hostile.

America blinked. "The stars." He glanced around at the doom like room, which stretch for what seemed like miles. "This is one giant planetarium." His eyes found Two of Sword's seemingly emotionless face. "You can only see in the dark. Otherwise, you're blind."

Her lip curled in a snarl. "I may not be able to see, but you are the one who is truly blind. You believed an Internet article over my own words. You saw only what you wanted to see."

America flushed in agitation, "Well, I guess I'm no different than you then. Except I'm always honest with who I am. I don't hide behind lies!" He snapped.

Two of Swords froze, her jaw clenching. Alfred stepped forward. "Darling, let me take care of them. It was my job to keep them from you in the first place." He offered in a sweet voice, coming forward and placing a gentle kiss on her cheek.

"Hey, don't touch her like that!" America snapped.

"No, Alfie, it's fine. Hand me my cover, I'll take care of it myself." Two of Swords stated.

"Of course." Alfred sighed, pulling out a silver cloth and carefully tying it over the girl's eyes. "And once they're gone, we'll go back to stargazing."

"Shelby, stop." America urged. "This is ridiculous."

"I told you, here I am Two of Swords. And here in my dream, you will feel what it's like when your pleas for mercy are brushed aside." She stated, twirling her swords, which glimmered in the light.

America stood still as stone, staring at Two of Stones in horror. "I... I can't fight you. I don't want to hurt you."

"YOU ALREADY DID!" She screamed, slashing her swords towards the country. Before they could reach their target, however, a serrated whip cracked through the air, striking Two of Swords face and causing her to flinch and draw back, her hand flying up to the wound.

"Shelby!" America cried out, and was moved aside as Japan, England, and France rushed forward to join Germany's defense.

"Don't worry, America. We've seen before that our fighting snaps the victims out of delusion." England reassured him.

"Two of Swords, please." Alfred begged.

"No!" Two of Swords snapped. "This is my battle, Alfred. And my mom didn't raise no bitch."

The girl turned towards the countries, who stood ready to fight. Germany used his whip again, but this time she was ready. Even without sight, she knew exactly what was happening around her, and her sword met the whip in mid-air. She yanked it forward, Germany following the tug like a dog on a leash. The consequence for not letting go was a power punch to the jaw, which made the blonde let go of his weapon and stumble back in line.

"Really, West? A mortal can't have hit you that hard." Prussia patronized, earning a glare from his younger brother.

"This isn't reality, mi amigo." Spain reminded the albino. "We're in Shelby's realm now. And here, she is powerful."

"There has to be another way!" America urged.

"Wow. Mr. Bomb-the-shit-out-of-anyone-who-sneezes-the-wrong-way doesn't want to fight for once." Romano muttered.

"Unfortunately, America, we will have to stick with what we know. And we've seen before that fighting the arcana makes them see reason." England stated as Japan made his move. The wind picked up and buffered Two of Swords harshly, knocking her to the ground and making her fight to catch her breath.

"No, maybe America's on to something." Canada ventured.

"Wait, really?" China raised a brow.

"Canada is practicing comedy routine." Russia giggled.

"No, seriously." Canada flushed. "Shelby is aware she's dreaming, which means she's strictly here to escape reality. If we can convince her that this place isn't better than her life being awake, then we win."

"And since she is not under Fauchereve's spell, but simply enjoying his company like I was, then she may be easier to persuade." Austria stated.

"Uh, Young Master, we still had to fight you." Prussia pointed out.

"Be quiet, Prussia, you'll ruin the plot consistency." Russia warned.

"Well, I suggest you employ this plan quickly." France warned as England attempted to use Light on Two of Swords.

She frowned. "Seriously?"

France looked at England in disbelief. "Are you kidding me, mon amie? She is blind!"

"I was in the moment!" England snapped.

"Shelby, come back with us!" Canada began. "Think of everything you'll be missing if you stay!"

"Everything that gives me anxiety- what a pity." Two of Swords snarled.

"What about family?" China challenged. "You have that, don't you?"

"She sure does!" America chided, his eyes flashing with hope. "She's got a mom and a dad- still happily married- and two younger sisters who both really admire her!"

"Michelle and Alexis." Two of Swords muttered, her stance faltering. France missed his strike on purpose.

"Yes! And Apollo!" Canada smiled. "He misses you so much. I have to dress up like America every day just to get him to eat food."

"Wait, seriously?" Austria raised a brow.

"Long story." Canada blushed.

Shelby stiffened. "You wouldn't have to take care of my dog if his dad didn't abandon him." She hissed. She crossed her two swords in front of her, which began glowing red hot. A ball of light manifested where the metals crossed, and when she sliced through the air, the plasma shot forward and knocked England and Japan to the ground.

"Okay, dog is touchy subject." Russia shrugged. "What about friends? Hope, Dreamz, Sammi- all the other mortals are very worried about you."

"Ja!" Prussia nodded. "Dreamz is sehr worried. She talks about it all the time!"

Two of Swords frowned, her swords lowering as Germany and France both took the opportunity to feed scones to the fallen warriors. "I do miss the HetaSquad."

"And then there are your commitments. School, soccer, work- those things are very important to you. Fading away to this dream is like throwing away everything you've worked so hard for." Canada pointed out.

Two of Swords scowled slightly. "Those things do nothing but stress me out."

"That's because you'll do nothing but your freaking best, dude." America stated. "Not that that's a bad thing, but you have a lot of pride in what you do, and that makes everything a bit more of a challenge."

"Stop talking!" Two of Swords yelled. "You're the reason I'm here in the first place! You were the only person I've ever fallen in love with. The only person I've ever felt someone for, and you had the audacity to tell me who I am, who I love, who I show interest in. Off of an article on the Internet." She spat, her hands beginning to shake, and her swords along with them. "You didn't even let me explain myself." She cried, her voice breaking. Germany used Feint Attack, landing a fist straight to her jaw.

"Because I was angry!" America exclaimed. "I thought you were using me to hide the fact that you were gay. But Dreamz... She explained to me that you can't always believe what you find on the Internet." America rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.

"What a moron." England shook his head. Japan used Wind again.

"Can you guys seriously stop fighting her while we're talking?" America snapped.

"No! This battle isn't done!" Two of Swords argued. "I will beat every single one of you if that's what it takes to get you out of my dream!"

"Shelby, you must be sensible! If you do not come with us, you will die! You will slowly become brain dead staying in this fantasy." England urged as he used Ice.

Two of Swords sank to her knees, her swords scraping the ground as she gritted her teeth. "I don't know about you, but I'd rather die happy than miserable."

"Well, I'd rather not you die at all." America stated. "You're coming back with us. That's final."

"You're not my boss." She hissed. "You don't determine what I do."

"Two of Swords, mi querido, none of us want to let you stay here and fade away." Spain stated, stepping forward. Two of Sword's head swiveled in his direction. "The real world is not perfect, that is undeniable, but you must come home."

"The blonde bastard still loves you, idiot." Romano grumbled. "But this is hardly the place to hash it out. You sound like children and it's honestly embarrassing all of us to have to watch this fucking mess."

Two of Swords looked deep in thought. Alfred looked between her and the others frantically. "Don't listen to them, Two of Swords. If you leave, you'll be miserable. Stay with me." He smiled. "Together we will be so happy."

"He's lying!" France urged, before using Poison. For once, it met it's mark. Two of Swords gasped, writhing in pain as she dropped her swords.

"What the hell, France!" America shouted.

"That move usually misses!" France countered.

"Shelby!" America ran forward, only to be intercepted by his counterpart. "Get out of my way, you communist!"

"I take offense, aru." China grumbled.

"No, she's staying here with me!" Alfred yelled, shoving the country backwards.

"Both of you shut up." Two of Swords growled. Alfred reached for Shelby, but she slapped the hand away. "Neither of you are choosing anything for me." Her skin was losing color, and the silver fabric fell off her face, revealing her blind eyes. Her entire body was shaking, her weapons long forgotten.

America stared at her in horror. "Shelby... I'm so sorry." The world seemed to hold it's breath, their surroundings completely silent. "This is all my fault. I... I drove you to this. I pushed you away, kicked you out, didn't listen..." He took his glasses off, wiping them off. "I couldn't see past my own thoughts and feelings. I didn't trust you. And now you're dying in your own dream..." He quickly wiped away a tear that fell from his eye. "I'm sorry."

"Two of Swords, ignore him. I can heal you. We'll live here together and be happy forever. You're the Cassiopeia to my Cepheus. Say the word, and I live destroy them for you. Destroy him for you. Just... say... go."

Two of Swords gritted her teeth together. Her eyes looked moist, her face conflicted. Finally, after taking a series of shallow breaths, she managed to speak. "No."

"No?" Both America and Alfred echoed.

"America... run." She stated in a dark voice. "All of you. Leave." She staggered to her feet, swaying as she picked up to her two swords, which now seemed to heavy for her to yield.

"What?" America blinked, throwing his glasses back on.

"Just trust me. Go." Two of Swords urged. "I have one last trick on my sleeve. It's the only way I can leave."

"Leave?" Alfred demanded. "No, you can't!"

Two of Swords' weapons began to glow. "I can do what I want." She growled. She looked straight at America, despite not being able to see him. "Did I stutter? All of you need to leave!"

"We're in the middle of a battle!" Germany urged.

"Oui, and I have a strange feeling we will not survive this next move if we do not heed her warning." France stated, grabbing England's wrist and backing away.

"You can't leave me!" Alfred yelled, his eyes seeming glow a brighter blue. "This is your paradise! You're my Cassiopeia! I am your Cepheus!"

"Cassiopeia, Queen of Ethiopia, was placed in the sky as an eternal punishment for her arrogance and vanity." Two of Swords struggled to speak as the poison bubbled in her bloodstream. "Running from my problems-" she grimaced, "would put me in my own d-damnation, and this refuge of my own desire would become my constant reminder of what I abandoned."

Alfred's head swung around to face America, his face contorting in a livid expression as he bent lower, like an animal ready to pounce. "THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!" He leapt forward towards America, but Canada grabbed his brother's wrist and yanked him away, just out of Alfred's reach. The countries took off to the maze as quickly as their legs could carry them.

Two of Swords crossed her arms with her swords still in hands, closing her eyes as the countries raced to the exit, to shield themselves within the maze. "My sanction transforms into my eternal punishment for my cowardice and selfishness, and I would die a pitiful death."

"No!" Alfred screamed. "NOOOOOOOOOO!"

Two of Sword's whole body glowed with vigor, before the entire planetarium was engulfed in a huge explosion.

It shook the wall that the countries were hiding behind violently, causing them to shield their heads and shout in shock. Alfred's screams were drowned out rather quickly as heat filled the air.

The crackling in the air began to decline as the light faded, though there seemed to be much more light flooding into the space than there was to begin with. When the countries picked themselves up, they turned the corner and discovered that the planetarium was completely destroyed, the sunny, blue sky visible with the ceiling nothing but debris beneath their feet, and there was no sign of either Two of Swords or Fauchereve disguised as Alfred.

"Shelby?" America looked around with desperate eyes.

"She's gone." England blinked. "How is that so?"

"It seems our friend has gone Supernova." Russia pointed out. "An attack to take out her enemies entirely, but destroying herself in the process."

"Do you think Fauchereve is..?" China ventured.

"No. He's alive. Italy is his host. Shelby's death will not have affected him in the long run." England stated.

"So just like that? She's dead?" America whispered hoarsely. "Before... Before we could even fix anything?" His legs began to wobble before giving out.

"Wow. That really sucks." Prussia said. Austria elbowed him, muttering something about having more tact as Prussia yelled out in pain.

"My condolences, America. It was a brave sacrifice of Shelby to temporarily distract Fauchereve while we escaped." Japan placed a gentle hand on the blonde's shoulder.

"Well, if we don't want to waste this, we better get moving." Romano muttered, attempting to look and sound angry, though his usually attitude was half-hearted.

The group turned slowly towards the maze, towards their way out, when a breeze brushed by them, catching their attention with how warm and thick it was. It swirled around them, picking up dust and debris, the tiniest and finest of particles. The air swirled with these ingredients before them, compressing into a figure, which they backed away from. They shielded their eyes from another brilliant flash, and then it was over, there stood Shelby, looking perfectly healthy as well as perfectly normal, with no blinded eyes and starry clothing.

"Shelby?" America gasped.

"That would be me." Shelby shrugged.

"But- but how?" England stuttered.

"I went Supernova. And the blast of a supernova creates every element in the universe- there was bond to be enough to put me back together." She smirked. "It doesn't hurt that I'm also a lucid dreamer. I control my dreams, remember?"

America rushed forward, engulfing the teen in a hug and picking her up off the ground. "Shelby! Oh my God I can't believe you're alive! I thought you were gone! I had no idea what I was gonna do with myself or how I was even going to go on without you!"

"All right, bud, I got it." She grumbled, pushing him away and turning away to hide the blush creeping up on her face. "Let's get out of here before Jones here squeezes me to death."

"Finally. Let's move out." Germany nodded, taking the lead as the countries and Shelby followed.

America dropped back to where Shelby walked stiffly. Her face was hard and emotionless. "Hey Shelbs. I... I know you were here because of our break up. I just wanted to say-"

"It's okay, America." Shelby cut him off, shaking his head.

America blinked in surprise. "What?"

"I mean, we have a lot to talk about when I get out of here, but for the most part? It's okay. I forgive you." She glanced up at him. "Let's just... Wait til we're back home to talk, okay?"

He smiled slightly and nodded. "Okay."
