Ch. 39: Warm Hug For Winter
Happy New Year!!

{Jellal’s POV}
“Thank you for coming!” The eight of us exclaimed as the people cheered. I smiled at their overwhelming support. It really is making us happy. “See you on our third concert!” And that was our cue to exit. I heard our latest album echo in the stadium.
“That was amayzayn!” Lucy laughed crazily as we looked at her.
“We do not know her. She’s a directioner.” Erza said, pushing us away as we stifled a laugh.
“Hey!”
“So how should we celebrate?” Mavis asked with her hands on her hips. “It wasn’t a bad concert. There are still many fans supporting all of you.”
“I know. But I don’t want to celebrate. I’m tired.”
“Yeah. Me too.”
“Let’s just stay home?”
“But that would be boring!”
“Some of us are tired, you know.”
“But we need to celebrate!”
“Okay, all of you shut up.” Zeref interrupted. “We don’t need to fight. We can celebrate tomorrow.” We all agreed to celebrate tomorrow.

“Karaoke?” Natsu inquired, and I was sure he wasn’t in the mood for it. “Can I just stay home and play video games?” Lucy punched his shoulders and I could tell it wasn’t a light punch seeing Natsu whimper.
“Is that what you call celebrating?” Lucy wrapped an arm around me, making me startled. “This guy,” She said, pointing to me. “We can let him choose. Make sure that it’s something unique, all right?”
I scratched my head, not knowing what to say. “Uhh, what do you guys say about a movie marathon?” I suggested politely as everyone paused to think. “At least we can have fun while staying home.”
“I can agree to that...” Juvia answered, though her voice seemed a little hesitant.
Natsu had this irritating face, and I knew he was gonna whine. “But I wanna play video games!”
Lucy pinched his ears. “Shut it.” She was still moody.
“If we’re gonna have a movie marathon, we’ll need food. I am gonna be the one in charge of food.” Erza crossed her arms, smiling. “Exciting, isn’t it?” She nudged Juvia who nodded.
I don’t know what has gotten into me, but I raised my hand. “I'll help.”
Gray smirked and sniggered. “Ohh, that’s how you gotta do the “Way To Erza” moves.” I accidentally cussed at him.
“Well...” Erza trailed off with a flushed face. “Well, now that that’s been settled, I guess I’ll go to the kitchen already.” I started to feel her awkward aura when I followed her all the way to the kitchen.
“Get me a corn.” Erza commands as she grabs a big bowl from the cabinet. She put her hand on her chin as if thinking about something before pulling out a butter from the refrigerator and sliding it around the plate. Erza stops a moment later just to see me gawking like a fangirl in front of her. “What? Get the damn corn!” We both blush at my action as I rushed to find the corn.
“Here.” I handed out the corn in a haste, and she grabbed it with flushed cheeks.
The red head in front of me slowly strode to where the microwave was. “Don’t stare at me like that ever a-gain! Ahh!” Erza slipped, and I caught her just in time. With closed eyes, she spoke. “Am I okay?”
I made her stand up, beaming. “Yeah. And you know what, you’re still the same old Erza. Clumsy as ever.” Her red face made me chuckle, earning me a glare. She turned away with a “hmph” as she put the corn in the microwave.
“Well then, I’ve got to prepare the drinks.” I murmured, smiling to myself... but not before looking at Erza.

I wasn’t watching the entire movie, but I was watching Erza shake with drops of sweat trickling down her neck and forehead. I may look like a creep staring at her like that, but I just couldn’t help it.
“Eek!” She yelped, clinging onto my arms as a ghost appeared in the tv screen. We were having a movie marathon on Paranormal Activity, and now we were halfway through its second movie. I shook my head. I should’ve known her reaction was going to be like this if ever she watched a horror movie.
The girls, except for Lucy, trembled in fear as they bit their lips. Lucy stared at the screen with boredom. “Really? Why are you guys so scared? It’s not really scaring me at all.” Natsu looked a little bothered by something we all don’t know.
“Gah! Natsu!” Levy shrieked, gripping Natsu’s arm. Gajeel muttered curses under his breath as Natsu tried to shake off Levy. I think I now know why everyone acts like this.
“This is... insane!” Erza cried in a whisper as she let go of my arm and hid her face behind my shoulder. I could smell her scarlet hair for she was just really close that it made me blush. “Let me hide, okay?” She spoke softly in my ear. The action sent me shivers down to my spine.
“O-Okay.” I stammered, uncomfortably changing my sitting position.
“Ahhhh!!” The girl in the tv screamed and I felt Erza hug me sideways. I felt my ears heat up along with my face. Dang it. I thought.
“Nice.” Gray smirked, pertaining to Erza who was already snuggling the back of my head. Juvia was pushing him as she got scared and would unintentionally punch him when a ghost appears.
Twenty minutes later (with the women shouting and hurting us literally), the second movie was finished without any of the boys actually understanding anything. We could’ve felt some fear if the girls hadn’t screamed at our ears like they were fangirls.
“Let’s just watch Harry Potter.” Levy said with a determined voice.
“Nah, that’s too boring. That’s just for bookworms.” Natsu commented. We three boys closed our eyes as Lucy and Levy whacked Natsu’s head relentlessly. Potterheads.
Juvia smiled at the three of us boys mischievously. “I should probably tell the girls that we must watch a romantic movie. You know, the ones with a sad ending.” She mused, getting ready to tell the girls. Gray covered her mouth as Juvia struggled from his grasp.
“Nice.” It was now my turn to give Gray a smug look. He looked like he was hugging Juvia. He glared at me, and I just made fun of him.
A moment later, Juvia kicked his you know. Gray caressed it and groaned. “Ow... that hurt.” He mumbled, wincing.
“Suits you.” Juvia replied as she went to Erza. “Let’s watch a romantic movie with a sad ending! Or maybe something that’ll make us cry.” And that’s when we were forced to watch The Fault In Our Stars.
*-*-*-*-
“Oh my gosh, best movie ever.” Erza mumbled with tears in her eyes. She sat beside me and wiped her tears with my jacket.
“Hey! Do I look like a hankerchief?”
She sniffed before answering. “Sorry. I just... I just can’t help it. The movie is just amazing.” Oh yeah? I think I just slept all throughout the movie. “Ow! What was that for?”
“That’s for sleeping all throughout the movie, doofus.”
“How did you know?” I paused when an idea popped in my head and I smirked. “You weren’t watching the movie, were you? You were watching me.”
Too bad, the room was dimly lit up so I couldn’t see her blush. But I was sure she was blushing. “No! Why would I even do that?”
“Liar. A big fat lie.”
“How come I’m big and fat?”
“I was talking about your lie. And don’t change the subject.”
“Okay, I was occassionally giving you guys glances while watching the movie.” I threw her a suspicious look and she glared at me. “But I’m telling you the truth!”
“Yeah, yeah. Whatever.”
“Quiet, you lovebirds. The movie is starting.” My cheeks heated up from Natsu’s notice. I looked at the screen and sighed in relief as I saw that the movie playing was Fast and Furious 7.
*-*-*-*-
The lights were turned on after watching the seventh movie. There on the far side of the room was Gajeel and Levy, sleeping with their heads leaning against each other. They sounded really asleep, so we decided to crawl out of the room silently.
“Those two should date already.” Lucy grumbled under her breath, popping a popcorn in her mouth. “Denying fools.”
“Well, aren’t you the same?” Juvia said and Lucy rolled her eyes. “Oh, it’s dinner time.”
Lucy grinned and nudged me. “Oh, Jellal. Would you like to go with Erza and buy some food for us?” I rolled my eyes, but I agreed anyways. There was nothing I could do.
Erza and I walked silently to a fastfood chain wearing eyeglasses and sweaters for disguise. It was a chilly night to my surprise, and I just remembered that winter is coming.
“It’s cold.” I heard Erza murmur, clenching her teeth. I shook my head and removed the scarf around my neck and put it around hers. Upon doing so, I smelled her weird and intoxicating cologne. But I liked it. I felt her blush at my action as I backed away.
A moment later, we have reached our destination. I was the one who ordered as Erza sat at an empty table.
“Order coming right up, sir. Please wait a moment.” The girl said politely.
“Take out, please.” I added.
After the order was given to me, Erza and I walked back to our house as she started making small talk.
“It’s been awhile since we’ve been alone like this.”
“Yeah. I think this is the first time in years.”
“Time sure flies fast.” I replied with a “hmm” as we went back to being quiet again.
Continuing on our way, we suddenly saw a white cat. “Hey look, a cat.” We went to it and Erza’s eyes softened. “What a cute kitty. I’m sure Millianna would melt if she saw this.” I chuckled, but stopped when I saw it was freezing.
“It looks like it’s feeling cold.”
And because Erza and I were somehow having linked minds, we both built a little shelter for the kitty. We put the cat there once done as it meowed.
“Now that I think about it, I’m cold too.” Erza chortled.
“Still?” I blushed at what I was thinking. Hesitantly, I wrapped my arms around her, and I guess both of us felt warm. She didn’t struggle from my arms, and we stayed like that until a snowflake fell on her hair.
