Ch. 35: Natsu's Type of Girl

{Lucy's POV}

I sighed dreamily at the sight of Gajeel giving flowers to Levy. I wonder what they're talking about. It was so obvious that I want the both of them to be together already. I had already told Levy about it, but she was just taking it as a joke. She told me they were just friends (although he calls her Shrimp) and that would never happen. I say that's just for now, and it will not last longer. That I promise.

With a good mood, I sat down an empty table and ordered a milkshake. My eyes glimmered at the sight of it when it was placed on my table a few minutes later. I am in love with milkshakes.

"You really love it like you want it to be your boyfriend." I looked up from the voice and saw that it was Natsu. I narrowed my eyes at his statement. What's up? "Your milkshake." Oh.

I knew he needed—no, wanted something because he wouldn't do this in normal circumstances. "So?"

A passive look was what I saw from him. "You know me well." He said as he sat down in front of me. "You used to drink one when you were a kid every after two hours." I think I know this already. I just hope it's not what I think it is. "You used to share them with me... so can I take a sip?"

With a shake of my head, I said, "No."

"Why not?"

I leaned closer to him. "Look back and reflect what you had just told me. "... you used to share them with me."" I quoted.

"So?" I felt like he just returned the question I have asked earlier. Not only that, I felt like I was a retard, too. "What's so wrong about it?"

"That was back then." I replied, leaning back. "I wouldn't want to share it to you too because..." As I tried to think of a more valid excuse, a horrifying idea popped in my mind. I only have one straw. If I let him take a sip...

"Fine then." He stood up. I guess he was annoyed. Why should I care? It isn't bad to not share something you like every once in a while. I watched him walk away.

"I sense some unusual atmosphere." More like tense. "What happened?" I replied with a shrug as he took Natsu's seat.

Erza came in the scene. She stopped by, leaning her elbow on the wooden table. "What happened?" She asked like Jellal, but she was answered by a really annoying silence. "Yeah, that happened. Why is the atmosphere like this? And why are your faces like that?" She queried but for the second time, she was answered by a long period of silence. Jellal seemed more awkward for some reason. "Thank you for answering me." She said sarcastically and walked away.

"I wouldn't bother you anymore. Hope to see you happy soon." He could've just told me that he'll apologize to Erza. It was so obvious anyway that Natsu could've figured it out too. And my hunch was right. I saw him talking to Erza with a pleading look. Much to Jellal's disappointment, he was just deliberately ignored. I felt guilty now. This was somehow my fault.

"We're going home in a few minutes!" Just in time, I had finished drinking my milkshake.

I went over to the van and tried to open the door. Locked.

"We're going home!" Juvia reminded as she unlocked the car with the keys. I was about to sit beside her when someone tugged at my shirt. I got cranky and turned to see two people smirking at me like they were planning something evil. Planned, rather. They're finished.

"Nope, you're going to sit at the very back beside Natsu." They both told me. I couldn't do anything about it because they pulled me out of the van. They were too strong for me to handle. I secretly gave Erza and Jellal murderous glares. Pissed off weren't the right words to describe myself.

I got to be the second to the last one who got in the car. The vehicle was already full on the first row. Mavis sat on the passenger seat, and guess what? Zeref is the driver.

I got no choice so I sat on the last row alone.

"Where's the flamebrain? He's taking way too long in the CR." Gray murmured.

Gajeel chuckled. "He might be doing something there." I sensed the deeper meaning behind his words. He must be really happy to say something like that especially with Erza around. The four boys cackled and so they earned themselves a smack in the head from Mavis and Erza.

"Zeref, be a mature guy. Geez, we're getting married, you know?" Mavis warned as Zeref raised his hands in surrender.

A few moments later, the flamebrain arrived. He sat beside Gray not before taking a glimpse at me. This was his favorite place. It was natural he'd frown because he liked to sit here alone. More like sleep here. He made this his bed. And of course, we weren't getting along at the moment.

"No." Gray pushed him off, but it wasn't because Erza and Jellal had told him to do so. "The space is too little. I can't breath. Sit at the second row." It was true. Gray, Juvia, Erza and Jellal sat there.

He looked at the second row the same time I did. I couldn't sit there because Gajeel and Levy were discussing something that seemed important. I'll look like a third wheel too. It doesn't look like Erza had told them to sit together.

Natsu must be thinking about that too because he frowned and stomped his feet. Scowling, he sat on the back row. The space between us was really large like we didn't know each other.

The ride wasn't silent at all with Juvia telling us how Levy rocked it when she sang on her gig. She also babbled about how the boy with Levy made her fangirl. It wasn't silent too with Natsu snoring loudly which ticked me off.

"Hmm?" When Levy turned to me, they all did, too. Except for Zeref of course because he was driving.

I stared at them with questioning eyes. "You two are far away from each other." Erza pointed out.

"Something wrong with that?"

"Maybe they need a little push." Gray smirked. Although some of them were talking about how they'd push us together, Natsu didn't wake up. I wonder how he did that.

I paled when I realized what they were going to do. "You are so not doing it."

"Yes we are."

"No, you are—ahh! No!! Bwahahahaha, stop tickling me!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. They really know my weakness, and that was one of the worst things in my life. Unfortunately, I was getting nearer and nearer to Natsu. He groaned at the noise I was making. Okay... that sounded wrong.

I bumped his shoulder and he flinched. "What's the commotion all about?" As he looked around, I accidentally turned my head towards him. And the worst thing happened.

My lips landed on his.

I stopped screaming as the seven of them stared at us in utter shock. Even Zeref's eyes widened as he stared at the mirror in front of him every once in a while.

We, Natsu and I, remained frozen for a few seconds until he gently pulled away.

"You should've made it a bit longer." Jellal advised, earning him two glares and seven chuckles.

Right after we reached our house, I climbed down the van. I inhaled the smell of home and I relaxed. "At last, I'm home." I grinned wearily and went upstairs. I flopped down on my fluffy bed.

Not a minute later my door made some noise. Oh, someone's knocking. I was too tired to tell that someone to go away. "Uh, Lucy?" My brain couldn't decipher the one that entered my room. Obviously though, it was a girl. I never allowed boys in my room. If they even try to open the door of my room, I'll knock them out. "There's a snake in your bed." My life jumped out of me for a moment and I screamed.

"F*ck! Who the hell put it in my bed!?" Not even looking back, I ran downstairs.

"All of you!!" I shouted with my thundering and scary voice. "Who the hell put a snake in my bed!? I swear I'm gonna scare the sh*t out of him or her!"

They had both afraid and confused expressions. "Snake? What?"

"I told her that so she'd be awake." Levy smiled at Gajeel. At what she said, I gave her a menacing glare. I had been glaring at everyone for all the bad things that were happening to me today. They were just gonna be the death of me.

Levy sat on the floor of the living room. "All of you, sit." She said calmly. I remained motionless which made her whirl her head towards me. "Lucy Heartfilia, sit." Her voice was so serious and demanding that it had made me follow immediately and forget about what had happened. "So, let's have it." We all looked at her, puzzled. "The talk." I swallowed. For the first time in years, we are going to have the talk. Whenever we were problematic or fighting, we were going to have the talk. "Let's start with the two vocalists." All eyes turned to me and to somebody. I looked at them nervously.

I tried searching for a pink headed boy. I was scared to look beside me but I did anyway. And, bingo! There he was, blushing like crazy. I couldn't help but blush with him too. "This is gonna be interesting." Juvia mused with a silly smile on her face. I glared at her the way I did with everyone today.

"Oh, so you want us to force you two to talk?" Levy asked in a deadly tone. She was quite serious about this. What was so serious about this? We aren't killing each other.

"Sorry." Natsu was the first one to apologize, and I immediately knew the reason behind it. He wanted to look like a gentleman. He did look like one, but I could never remember the last time he became one. One more thing: his apology wasn't sincere.

"I sensed the sincerity in it, yeah." Erza sarcastically remarked.

"Sorry." He said in a low voice. This time, I have heard it with his voice full of veracity. I have never heard him this veracious. He sounded so sincere, like he was the one who made the mistake. I admit that I was the one who made a mistake though.

"Sorry, too." He didn't reply. The eight of them—including Zeref and Mavis of course—just remained silent too. I looked up, expecting a reply from him but I forgot what I was supposed to say when I saw his dazzling smile. Yeah, it was dazzling. Just please don't tell that to anybody. I couldn't help but smile back at him too.

"Sweet! Too sweet that I was surrounded by ants." Erza joked as everybody laughed.

"At least now, the problem is fixed." Mavis chuckled.

"What about you guys? When is the wedding again?" Gajeel inquired.

"It's a secret as of this moment. But we'll tell you guys soon. Or maybe you'll know it when an invitation is given." Mavis and Zeref grinned. They were really sweet. Sweeter than anyone I know, I'd say.

"So, speaking of "sweet"," I started as I smiled at Levy. It was now time for my vengeance. "how was it, you guys?" Now all eyes were on Levy and Gajeel. I could clearly see their blush on their cheeks. Natsu did a hi-five with me, which caught Zeref's attention but nonetheless ignored it.

"Oh!" Juvia interrupted before Levy could even speak. "I was gonna ask Natsu something. Lucy too." I questioningly glanced at Juvia. "Lucy, do you have an interest with somebody as of today?"

I shook my head. "No. No. You could all tell if I'm lying or not. I don't have someone I like." It was true. I never lied because I didn't like it.

Juvia nodded. "What about you, Natsu? Do you have someone you like right now?" He also shook his head, and I could tell he wasn't lying. "Well then, what do you like in a girl, exactly?" I felt like we were in the hot seat.

"I don't know."

"I'll rephrase it. What type of girl do you like?" It was almost the same. I mentally groaned.

"Uh..." He scratched the back of his head. All of them leaned close to him. Jellal and Erza nudged me with their elbows.

"What?" I whispered.

"Listen carefully. You might need this someday." I rolled my eyes. I was planning to do so anyway, but not for some unnecessary reason.

"Maybe a bookworm? And someone who's weird like me. Someone who's moody so I can see her different expressions. Uh, what else? A girl with brown eyes. I don't know, I've got a thing for girls with brown eyes. Oh! I also like someone who shares the same interests I have. You know, so when we're together, I can enjoy her company."

Levy gasped, feigning shock. "That's exactly like Lucy!"

"Yeah, I know right." Gray agreed.

"It's not me." I said, irritated. "I've changed. I don't like the things he like now." I stood up and went upstairs to my bedroom.
