{Lucy's POV}
"Hm. I like this one." Erza grinned, holding up a simple blue cocktail dress that I think reaches her knees. For some reason, the dress she picked up reminded me of Jellal. The shade of blue was just like Jellal's hair. "Hey, are you alright? We're now going to pay up for the dresses." Erza smiled, going on ahead. I chuckled and followed her.
Well today, we were chilling out by shopping. We bought new dresses for Mirajane's birthday party the next two days. We were invited... too bad, along with the Elemental Boys. Really, Lucy? It's that bad? I thought you hate Natsu, but then a few nights before, you asked for Natsu and the others' numbers and were giggling to Natsu's every reply! And then you got mad about— I smacked my head as everything replayed into my head.
♪Flashback–the time where Lucy told Natsu it was her who was texting him♪
To: unknown number
fine fine. this is Lucy. hi, Natsu-kun.
I sighed when Natsu didn't reply. Lucy, you idiot! You shouldn't have told him that it was you who was secretly texting him! I put my cellphone on the table. Yawning, I laid back down on the bed, pulling the headphones from my head. It's almost 11. I better go to sleep or else Erza will kill me.
Just as I was about to drift off into sleep, my phone rang. I thought that it was just Jason reminding us of our photoshoot for tomorrow, so I shrugged it off. But then the ringing never stopped, so I hastily grabbed my phone and answered almost angrily. "Hello?"
"Did I wake you up? Sorry 'bout that." My eyes shot open just upon hearing the voice. It never changed. His voice never changed. I silently sat up, still not responding to his question. "Hello? Are you still there?"
"Yeah." I replied, my breath hitching. I missed my best friend. A lot. He's my bestfriend, after all.
"So uh... hi there, Lucy." He said awkwardly. I bit my lip. What are you nervous about, Lucy? You hate him, right? So why are you acting like this?
"Hello, Natsu-kun." I mentally slapped myself. Really, Lucy? Natsu-kun? Are you still little kids to call him like that? I cleared my throat. "O-Oh. I'm really sorry, Natsu." Good. I dropped the 'kun' in his name.
"How're you?" He asked. I just had a really weird feeling. I think he just smiled a little while asking me. And he sounded a bit nervous. Probably an imagination.
"Uhm... chill life. We're already a ba—" I covered my mouth. Oops. I was about to tell him that we formed band, and that we were the famous Color of Girls. It was a secret, to be exact. I'm gonna get killed by the girls if I spilled it.
"You're already a what?"
"Oh, never mind," I laughed nervously. "How are you?" I questioned.
"We're fine. Actually, we formed a band. Guess what band." It's the Elemental Boys. I know. "It's the Elemental Boys!"
I acted surprised. "Really?!"
"Yeah." He chuckled. "Pretty shocking, right? Hmm... what else... oh yeah. I forgot to tell you that I was a casanova back then."
Now I didn't act like I was surprised—I was totally surprised by the news he had brought me. "You were a what?! A casanova?!"
"Shocking, but yeah. Don't worry, it was just back then—"
I didn't let him finish. I ended the call, only to find out that my phone's battery is about to be drained out now. "Good timing." I told myself. I was so angry at him. I don't know why.
♪End of Flashback♪
Ugh. I was still mad about it. Lucy, why would you be mad about something like that?! He isn't your best friend anymore, is he? Quit acting like you're one protective bestfriend.
I stomped through the counter, Juvia looking at me curiously. "Is something the matter?" I shook my head furiously, glaring at the yellow wrap dress designed with stars that I was holding. She frowned at me, giving her dress to the lady on the counter. "You know you can tell me anything. You can trust me just like Levy and Erza, you know."
I sighed after we got our packed shopping bags. "I'll tell you all about it later." She nodded.
"Hey, Lucy!! Over here! Let's eat up!" Levy waved, smiling brightly. I chuckled and dragged Juvia behind me. At least I forgot about my bestfriend for awhile.
Reaching the house after we shopped, Juvia dragged me all the way upstairs to my room.
I sat down on my futon, taking a deep breath before telling the story to Juvia. "I texted Natsu a few nights before. You know, I greeted him and all. When he called me—"
"He called you?! You texted Natsu?!" Juvia interrupted. She has her hand over her mouth, completely surprised on what I had told her. I can't blame her for being shocked, though. She thought I hated Natsu the most and that I broke our friendship.
"Yeah. Don't tell Erza and Levy about this. Anyways, back to the story. As I was saying, Natsu called me. That shocked me. He asked me on how was life with you guys. Luckily, I never told them that we were the Color of Girls. Then I asked him back on how was life. He told me that he was a casanova back then. I got furious and ended the call."
"So you mean, you got jealous?" Our heads snapped towards the doorway, only to see Erza and Levy with crossed arms.
"Uh, no. I was only becoming the over-protective bestfriend because, you know, he gets into trouble a lot of times. Ugh. But I just broke our friendship a few years back, so why should I be over-protective? Why did I even text and answer his phone call to begin with?" I frustratedly let out a sigh.
"Gray-sama—I mean, Gray did not stop Natsu from being a casanova. I hate him." Juvia frowned. I can tell she's really angry right now. Wait a minute. Natsu left, right? How come Gray, Gajeel and Jellal are now with him? Now that's a nice question.
Levy huffed, crossing her arms and sitting on the futon beside me. "Gajeel too. Ugh. I was wrong to think that he was the most responsible guy in the Elemental Boys."
"Jellal... I can't believe he did not tell me this. I should've lectured Natsu when we met that time. That jerk. I hate him."
Eyebrows furrowed, the three of us asked Erza. "You met Jellal and Natsu?"
Erza's eyes widened and bowed. "I suppose it's time to let you know." She then told us that she met Jellal two years ago, and after that accidental meet up, they continued meeting up secretly. One time, while they were talking in a dark alley, (suspicious, huh?) Natsu saw them along with Gray and Gajeel. The whole two years, Jellal never told her that Natsu became a casanova back then. Smart move Jellal, really.
"Okayyyy... I can't believe you never said a word about this, Erza." Levy shook her head in disappointment.
"Yeah." Juvia propped her elbows on my bedside table, frowning deeply. I stayed quiet, not really caring about what Erza had just said. It didn't changed the fact that I hate Natsu. I laid down, sleepiness slowly approaching me. "Oi, oi. No sleeping. We've got to talk about a lot of things."
"Like what?" I snapped, instantly regretting it. Ugh, I'm getting cranky. Getting sleepier by the moment. "Sorry, just a little sleepy."
She smiled. "It's fine," and then turned to the others. "Why didn't you tell us about this earlier, Erza?"
Our scarlet-haired friend looked at the floor. "I-I don't know. It just seemed like you guys really hated them so much . . . just thought that you don't want to hear anything from them, again."
We stared at her as if contemplating on something. True, though. We do hate them with a boiling desire.
"Still, you hid something from us. From your best friends." said Levy with an unhappy tone.
"I know and I'm sorry. I promise all of you that I will not hide anything from you ever again." she said, sincerity in her voice and eyes.
Well, I didn't seem to care about what she confessed to us, so it's only up to Levy and Juvia to accept her apology.
Levy finally sighed, giving in. "Because I love you, then you are forgiven." Erza looked like her eyes sparkled hearing that and then turned to Juvia, waiting for her response.
She threw her hands up. "Fine. I forgive you as well."
Erza's smile grew wider. "Thank you!"
Levy smiled. "Let us all promise that we will not hide anything from each other."
We nodded, agreeing to her. Followed by a big, warm group hug!
Secrets are not allowed here.
"To the next topic." Levy grinned knowingly at my direction, which means the next topic will somehow be all about me. I frowned, remembering that awhile ago, the topic all about Natsu was changed.
"Oh, yeah." Erza grinned and turned to me, wiggling her eyebrows. These guys. When it comes to gossips, nothing will ever escape their ears.
Juvia laughed, watching me frown deeply under Erza and Levy's teasing stares.
"Well? We're waiting. Are you jealous, huh, Lucy?" Juvia joined in. I pouted, shaking my head. They know that I only consider Natsu as a best friend of mine, nothing beyond that. But now that I despise him a lot...
"Nah. You guys go to sleep. We've got to get enough rest for Mirajane's birthday." I said, not really answering their nonsense questions.
"But it's the day after tomorrow." Levy insisted, pouting and telling me through her eyes that I should just admit that I like Natsu in a romantic way. Tsk. Not gonna happen.
"I'm tired. Stop it, you guys." I groaned. They chuckled as they stood up and bid me good nights.
Mirajane's birthday, huh? Interesting. I thought as I slowly fell asleep.
*-*-*-*-
"Come here! You've got to put make ups on!!" Levy exclaimed as she chased me all around the room. Urgh. I should've told them I don't wanna go. I hate make ups as much as I hate the Elemental Boys.... more like Natsu.
"Gotcha!"
"Ahh! Levy-chan!! But I—"
"No buts. Come here." She shook her head, putting on a foundation on my face. Ugh. My face is getting heavier by the minute.
Erza and Levy got out of the changing room wearing the same dresses we bought the other day. They were wearing heels, just like Levy. While me? I hate heels so I'm wearing flat sandals. I'm simple? You got that right.
Levy let go of the brush thingy or I suppose a blush on, grinning like she won a great award. "There you go!" Erza and Juvia's eyes sparkled as Levy stepped backward to look into my face, full view.
"You're so pretty!" Juvia complimented, gasping and beaming brightly at me. Erza agreed along with her, curling her scarlet hair as she spoke in awe.
"Yeah, right. Thanks. You guys too are pretty." I mumbled shyly.
"Hm... oh! I nearly forgot our masks!" Erza gasped. I forgot to tell you, but Mirajane's birthday party is kind of, a masquerade ball. So, yeah, we need masks for that.
Erza returned, holding masks in both of her hands. The ones with indigo spiral designs belonged to Juvia, the mask with yellow stars belonged to me, the mask with red hearts belonged to Erza, and the ones with cyan stripes belonged to Levy.
She gave the masks to each one of us.
"Yosh! Let's go!" Levy clapped, helping me stand up as she put the headband I gave her last Christmas.
~later... at the party of Mirajane...~
