Ch. 10: Fire and Yellow Angel

Mavis, the manager------->

______________________________________________

{Levy's POV}

"Jellal, Gray, Natsu and Gajeel are the members of Elemental Boys." Silence. I don't know if Erza was just joking for us to laugh or something, but she knows I hate that topic. Especially when I hear the name Gajeel. I don't consider that man as my bestfriend.

"I'm going to read my book. Go ahead and chat about anything." I replied, a little bit pissed off. Lucy glanced at me with a serious face, like she wasn't also believing what Erza just told us.

"I'm serious." Erza added, noticing the awkward atmosphere that had appeared when I continued reading the book. I rolled my eyes. I'm not believing any of her words. "You want a proof, Juvia, Levy, Lucy?" I did not answer. She knows that silence means yes. "Alright. Here. Jellal gave me a poster of them last year. With no costumes and masks. Just casual clothes." I peeked through my book, noticing that it really was them in the poster. It said 'Elemental Boys 20**'. Is that enough proof for me?

Erza sighed, "Levy, I know you're peeking through in that book. You know, Gajeel wants to see you and—"

"I don't care. I hate him for leaving. I hate hearing his name, so please, leave me alone." I told them with a little bit sadness in my voice, but mostly I know that it's hatred.

Mavis, our manager, glanced at me before shaking her head. What's the problem?

"Gray-sama..." Juvia breathlessly whispered, getting out of the van. I see, so we're back home. We'll just continue our chat later.

Gajeel, Natsu, Gray, and Jellal. Why did they even choose to leave us without even telling us in personal? Does all those years of friendship mean anything to them?

This grudge has been going on for quite a while now . . . but it's their fault! They should've known that we were gonna be hurt if they just left like that.

And Gajeel . . . gosh, him leaving is, like, the most painful thing for me to think. I mean, he was my best friend. Of course, I would be hurt with the fact that my best friend left me.

Wait, why am I even thinking about him? I mean, them.

I shook the thought away and entered the house. Lucy and Erza went upstairs to change while me and Juvia sat on the couch lazily. Feels good to be home.

Mavis grabbed the remote and flipped through the channels. She stopped at one particular channel, and I wish she didn't.

It's them. The four boys in masks and costumes, playing their instruments and one singing a song. Now, I can recognize who's who.

Jellal is the drummer, Gray is the guitarist, Natsu is the lead singer, and . . . Gajeel is the pianist. They're playing a song by R5 which is (I Can't) Forget About You.

My jaw clenched. My eyes traveled to Juvia, already close to tearing up.

"Mavis, please change the channel." I said through gritted teeth.

Our manager looked at us with worried eyes and then immediately changed it to a news channel. I exhaled in relief, but squeezed my eyes shut, still feeling the anger inside of me.

I stood up from the couch, wanting to leave.

"Levy, where are you going?" Mavis asked with a concerned tone.

I lifted my eyelids slowly, feeling the depression, and then gave her a weak smile. "I'm just gonna go to my room."

Once I entered my room, I flopped onto my soft bed and stared at the empty ceiling. I can't end up like this every time those guys are mentioned.

So, I forced myself up and went to the bathroom to change into more comfortable clothes. When I got back in my bedroom, I sat on my bed and read a good book from my shelf.

In the middle of reading, I heard a knock on my door.

"It's open." I said.

Lucy opened the door only a little for her to peek her head.

"Practice time."

"Okay." I placed the book down and followed her to the Practice Room.

She glanced at me. "You look down. Is something wrong?"

I forced a smile at her and shook my head. "Nothing, Lu-chan. Just tired."

She's still frowning after receiving the response. I know this girl. In three seconds, she will demand what's going on with me. Though, I know she won't be surprised if I tell her it's about the guys.

Lucy opened her mouth but was interrupted by Erza.

"Where's Juvia?"

"I last saw her at the living room." I answered casually.

"She's not there."

"Then she might be at her bedroom."

"Not there." She said.

I felt a little uneasy. "Let's look for her. I'm sure she's here somewhere."

They both nodded and we split up to look for our blue-haired friend. I checked the kitchen, her bathroom, and even the Practice Room. Halfway through my searching, I bumped into Mavis.

"Mavis, have you seen Juvia?"

"Juvia? I remember her heading to the garden." She replied.

Hearing that, I went to the garden which is by the backyard. I soon saw her staring at the roses of the garden and so, I came towards her.

"Hey, we're about to start rehearsals at the Practice Room."

"Levy, how mad are you at Gajeel?" She asked, not meeting my eyes.

I was taken aback by her sudden question. "I . . . it's not only Gajeel that I'm mad about. Gray, Natsu, Jellal—"

"No. I know that you hate Gajeel even more than the others. I can see it in your eyes."

I pursed my lips and then looked at the roses. She's right by that. "Of course, because he was my best friend, you know. I know you feel like that towards Gray too."

I immediately regretted my words once they were out, because she looked like she was going to cry, again. Oh, no. I shouldn't have brought up Gray.

"I'm sorry, Juvia."

She cleared her throat. "It's fine. We were gonna do rehearsals, right?" A little smile crept onto her face.

"Yeah, let's go." We left the garden and met with Lucy and Erza at the Practice Room.

Juvia and I sat on the brown couch while Lucy and Erza were talking about something. Soon, they stood there in front of us.

"What song?" Juvia asks.

Lucy grins at us.

I settled my fingers on the right keys of my keyboard, Juvia wore her guitar on, and Erza sat behind her drums while holding the sticks.

"Ready guys?" We nodded at Lucy.

1 . . . 2 . . . 3

I'm so glad you made time to see me.

How's life? Tell me how's your family?

I haven't seen them in a while.

You've been good, busier than ever,

We small talk, work and the weather,

Your guard is up and I know why.

Because the last time you saw me

Is still burned in the back of your mind.

You gave me roses and I left them there to die.

So this is me swallowing my pride,

Standing in front of you saying, "I'm sorry for that night,"

And I go back to December all the time.

It turns out freedom ain't nothing but missing you.

Wishing I'd realized what I had when you were mine.

I'd go back to December, turn around and make it all right.

I go back to December all the time.

Juvia's guitar solo nailed it, Erza's drumming was in timing, I didn't pressed a wrong key, and Lucy's vocals were as beautiful as always. I am loving this band, and it makes me love it more knowing that my band members are my best friends.

"That was an awesome cover!" Lucy exclaimed, ecstatic.

"I couldn't agree more." I smiled at them.

We rehearsed a few more songs before we called into a break. Then, I overheard Lucy's conversation with Erza.

"Can I have Natsu's number?" Lucy asked her. Natsu's number? Why does she want his number?

She looked at her, puzzled. "Why?"

"Oh, and the other three, too."

"Again, why?"

"Just because. Please?" Lu-chan looked at her with the puppy dog eyes. Uh-oh, nobody can resist that.

She finally gave in. "Fine." and took out her phone, giving it to Lucy. "But, I don't know why you still want to contact them. I thought you hate them."

"Oh knock it off." She tried to change the subject, so I squinted my eyes at her suspiciously. Hm. I knew it. She already missed her bestfriend because of that song we just played. Back To December. The time where Natsu and Lucy first met at the mall. A christmas season.

I reminded myself that after Erza demanded for us to go to bed, I would consult Lucy about the matter. Though I don't really know if she'd be opened up to me just like back then. Still though, no matter what happens, I'm gonna comfort my bestfriend.

"Girls, it's time to go to bed." Erza demanded. I took one last glance at my favorite late night tv show. Ahh!! I don't wanna leave Jensen and Jared! I can't do this. I quickly ran back to the couch, causing Erza to give me her famous death glare. I gave her an apologetic smile, but then she rolled her eyes and climbed up the stairs.

I continued watching Supernatural with Mavis, giggling while eating a midnight snack.

After that marathon, I yawned. That made my mind at peace. I can now sleep happily. "Mavis, you should also rest. We've got a photoshoot for the Sorcerer's Magazine tomorrow, right?" She nodded, turned off the tv, and went upstairs to her bedroom. I followed her.

I was about to open the door to my bedroom when I heard someone giggle. It was from Lucy's room. Maybe she's fangirling all over a book. Wait. Lucy! I almost forgot all about her! Oh I'm such a horrible friend! The Supernatural series is more important to me than my friend. No. Lucy's more important.

I turned around from my room and knocked gently on Lucy's room. It was ten thirty in the evening, and I have been wondering on why Lucy was still awake at this time.

Nobody answered, "Lucy. This is Levy. I'll come in now." Still, she didn't answer, and so I opened the door. There I saw her, flopped down on the bed, listening to some music and her back is the only thing I can see.

She giggled once again. She didn't hear my knock because of her headphones. I walked slowly towards her. I was about to surprise her when I saw that she was texting someone. Now who could it be? I moved closer – slowly and surely – so that I could see the person she was texting. I furrowed my eyebrows when it was an unknown number. I know that she wouldn't text somebody she doesn't even know.

I peeked on her cellphone.

To: unknown number

Hi, Natsu.

My eyes widened. She. Was. Texting. Natsu. This is a big news. I thought... I thought she hated Natsu for leaving her and that she was blaming him for the friendship's loss?

My ears perked up when I heard her phone beep.

From: unknown number

Uh.. who's this?

To: unknown number

Guess who ;)

From: unknown number

I'm too lazy to guess. how'd you know this was me, Natsu?

To: unknown number

idk :)

From: unknown number

Who gave u my number?

To: unknown number

again, idk :D

I can probably predict right now that Natsu's irritated. I chuckled. Lucy begged Erza to give Natsu's number to her. Sigh. What an idiot. And she says that she doesn't know how she got Natsu's number.

From: unknown number

Stop it. You're getting irritating.

To: unknown number

ikr ;) :) hehehe

She squealed. I rolled my eyes. Hello, this was Natsu she was talking to, not Tom Felton.

From: unknown number

reveal yourself or else i'm not gonna talk to ya anymore.

Lucy gulped. She sighed. I know what she's gonna reply next.

To: unknown number

fine fine. this is Lucy. hi, Natsu-kun.

I gasped when she called Fire "Natsu-kun."

After her reply to Natsu, nothing came. I'm guessing he's too shocked to reply. I shook my head, a smile creeping up to my face, going out of Lucy's room.

Erza and Juvia are gonna be excited about this. Well, I don't know about Juvia. I mean, she hates Gray, right? So if I tell her a thing about Natsu and Lucy, she might remember Gray and I might make her cry again. I'm keeping my mouth shut to be safe. I thought as I entered my room and falling into a deep slumber.
