Broken Souls

It's the day when everything went wrong. It's the day when they both lost again someone they have loved deeply. We can't change the past, but we can manage, to make another start, this time from the heart and this is what he did.

Fawad ventured himself in helping the misfits, misconstrued and misplaced thoughts. Believing that their deepest wounds and fractures could be weld. Her intelligence and beauty deeper than what it lays upon the surface, reached out and tore everything down, his mind and heart can ever reach to. Leaving herself in his care.

And in that hand only, he lost her.

Seher was left alone in the darkness, where, no one could hear or see the tears trembling down her heart but Fawad was the one who saw the reflection of her pain and stood by her. Her eyes is not less than a sea as described by him, one needs to swim past the layers and get drown in the depth to know her.

He had no excuses for what wantomly he had wasted and was now yearning for more. He stood by the balcony, silently thinking of what he had lost. He had seen the Metal being melted like she had seen him in his vulnerable state. She had left a permanent mark on him which is the sole reason for who he is today.

Remember he once said that he doesn't need her, he didn't wanted to marry her? He tried to stand by his words, he truly did but he lost his own battle. He stood there, silently thinking of what he had lost and he even wants to admit that She is the only extraordinary thing he have ever known.

And he had lost her....

It's not that..he is the only one who has lost everything, Seher has also lost. Each night her soul died slowly as he stepped out from his vows, yet she found herself standing firmly on the ground. She's the one whose heart's broken, been mislaid, dismayed, betrayed but unafraid even when she watched him walk away with all those things she owned.

She lost a little light that was present in her soul.

Footsteps of some one walking became more audible as the person came closer. Fawad's heartbeat increased, hearing the footsteps. Droplets of sweats formed on his forehead even on the coldest of the night. A shiver ran down his spine when a loud knock on the door boomed loud enough to make the walls crack in the quietest room of a massive bunglow, where once can be heard the sound of her laughter.

He turned around, now facing the door, fighting with his ownself whether to open the door or not. What if she is standing on the opposite side of the door ready to pounce on him as to why he didn't stopped her from leaving? Why he didn't understood the hidden words in her sentence?

Wrapped in his own dilemma, didn't stopped the other person from knocking once again. Clearing his throat and mind, he walked forwards with his head held high like the lion walks out of his den. The door made a little creak sound which wasn't audible uptil now.

"Bhayyu" Maha whispered. He looked up. "Dinner's ready" She said not looking at him in his eyes. His very own sister was feeling ashamed of her brother, who once was a possessive sister. Anyone can see the hatred present in her light grey eyes.

He gulped before nodding his head and politely saying that he's not hungry. Maha didn't even waited a second also before running down the flight of stairs as if her very own brother would burn her if she stays there any longer.

He felt angry at her sister that why she didn't forced him to come down like she use to before. But deep down he knew everyone will gonna react this way. He ran his hand through his hair before closing the door, drowning in the silence.

His cell kept on buzzing until he picked up, placing it against his ear.

"Aapu" he whimpered, tears falling from his eyes.

"Fawad...shhh, calm down. Everything will be fine soon" His elder sister Mariam comforted him.

"I made her leave me, I made her go. I didn't stopped her. I'm a bad husband." He broke down. He had never felt so vulnerable.

"She said she love me, Aapu." Sob escaping from his mouth.

"Fawad, Listen to me. We'll find her. You'll find her. You have to bring her back. Yes?" Absentmindly he just nodded his head. Never knowing that a simple departure will make him this weak.

The pillors of the house must have shaken, the walls of the house must have cracked, breaking down a Chandelier, when an ear piercing scream must have echoed in every corner of the house, waking everyone  up.

"Seheeeerrrr"

It was a warm evening, with cold breeze, all she wanted was to go home. She was walking back to home,
almost reached her place, just needed to cross two lanes to reach her destination.

That is when Seher saw a dark shadow with daunting eyes. She gasped, tried to run faster but nothing helped her when her hand was grabbed by the mysterious man. He didn't wait to push her against a random wall of the pathway, nailing her wrists to the wall.

She shouted, tried to move, but a tree cannot do anything to stop an axe.  Just like she couldn't do anything to stop him, that doesn't stopping her from kicking his groin or biting his wrist. Hoping that someone would hear her pleas and come forward to help her, yet the long night has planned it's own mysterious ways of troubling her.

"Leave me, please. What have I done to you?" She shouted, tears pouring down. Seher had already witnessed many twists and turns today and the last thing she expected was this. What have Fawad done to her? Seher was to be kept inside their house, their bedroom, not to be left alone in this cruel world where no woman is safe.

Seher hasn't even bloomed properly and the world is ready to rip her apart.

"Where do you think you were going with that sexy body of yours little slut" that sick person whispered lowly in her ears making her whimper. "Do you really think that covering yourself from top to bottom will save you?" He laughed.

He thought her body and outfit was to be blamed and the gutless society will not have her back. Then why woman wearing revealing clothes are only blamed to invite these sick people when a woman wearing an abaya, a niqabi are not safe. Heck!! Months old girls are not safe in this society.

It was not to fulfil his lust for sex, but to ascertain his authority and power which society taught him, that men are superior than women. He thought women should be caged in home, like good women should be and when she is rising with confidence and earning her living, he felt repulsive and left her scarred for life, feeling like rescuing the society from demons like her.

Where in reality they are a beast and the demon, who are powerless & a loser in real life and wanted to show their power this way.

He tried to kill her soul, scaring her. Just when Seher thought that Fawad will be here to save her, Grey eyes stared at her black one's. Within a second that sick man was praying for his life under the feet of this new mysterious man with grey eyes who was proudly standing on his chest, putting pressure on his neck.

Seher found safety in standing behind the grey eye man, who quickly inspected her before focusing on that pervert. In one call that pervert was sent to jail, making Seher surprised of the things passing by so quickly.

She opened her mouth to express him that how thankful was she to him for becoming her guarding angel when he stopped her. Without saying anything, he opened the passenger side of his Range Rover. She thought for a second or two before sliding inside.

He said he didn't needed her address as he already knew where she'll be staying from now onwards. She felt empty and exploited. Though she's independent but she lost her freedom. Stepping inside her new apartment the first thing she demnaded was who was he?

He just shrugged "Does it matter"

"To me it does".  He chuckled at her response taking a sip of the cold water. He was a stranger to her, yet he knew everything.

Seher felt like the world was at his feet, but he thought he was the master of the dark.

"How do you know where I live?" She asked with confusion.

"It's a small world, Seher" he said leaning down on the kitchen counter. Feeling Aghast, she felled on the sofa as her legs gave up. "Shocked that how do I know your name?" He asked her. She didn't said anything just prayed for her safety. Her first instinct was to shout or call the cops, but then she knew that thinking of like this can slit open her throat.

"Just like you did your work, I'm doing mine." He said.

"What work have I done? What work are you doing? What are you talking about?" She asked him, knowing that she won't get a single answer from him.

"You need to sleep, you had a long day. Relax. Ain't need to worry about me. I ain't a danger to you. I'll leave you here hoping you won't need me anymore in your life." He was standing right in front of her.

"Your name" She almost begged him.

He gave her a one sided smile before opening the door of her new apartment. He turned one last time, taking her breath away, leaving her scattered on the floor.

"Fawad."
