Previously on A Tale Of Mischief: Still, a funny memory I would treasure, and under no circumstance would tell anyone. 

... And then her Mom found out. 

You can imagine the shock they were all in. Except my sister. None of this surprised her. She probably knew. I was definitely not surprised we got caught. My mom and dad, however, didn't see this one coming. 

And I stood in the door frame, a bit confused at the moment as to why my best friend's mother was in the kitchen. Now, most of the time "best friend's mom" means something good; not my case.

You see, she never really liked me, and always seemed to glare at me whenever I came over. Of course my first impression as a hyperactive child who knew no proper english (second language) was not the best start. Neither was my mischievous nature as I got older. But I definitely got a bit more mature, and tried to be polite later on. She never changed her mind, and I assume that it will be a snowy day in hell when she does.

My parents told me to go upstairs, so I did. I decided, no. I'm not in trouble, I can't be, right? Right?

I got my answer soon enough when my sister came back from eavesdropping.

"You might wanna go through and delete your emails"

"I already di-"

"Neon! Come down, and bring the (unspecified computer) with you!" my mom called. 

They looked through the emails and asked what was going on. I came clean, since there was no way out of it. They knew and that was all there was to it. Now I'm obviously not giving enough details if you're imagining a me calmly saying "Yes, yes I did sneak out at 1 am".

No it was a more like a mess of tears and apologies. Of course the occasional "I'm sorry" was more like a beg for mercy. Yep, I don't think I was ever so scared of a person, I was hysterical.

But I do wish I didn't say sorry. It was the most ingenuine thing I've ever done. So I'll be a little more stubborn and won't say it without a good reason.

Still a lesson I treasure, and want everyone to know.

And that's the story of how my friend and I got banned from each other's houses!
