Chapter 3 - Elements Of Option 2, Type : Null

Valentina's POV

Ahhh. The first day of Sophomore year! I smiled at the familiar sound of the bell ringing.

I looked around and saw three Freshman, and decided, since I was part of the student council, to show them to their classes. It would be nice.

I walked over to them, smiling and waving.

"Hi!" I called.

One of the girls stuck her nose out of the locker, the boy stopped the conversation with the other girl and they both turned to me. The girl who was talking to the boy smiled at me, and started walking over, her pigtails waving behind her.

"Hai!" She beamed. "I'm Elle, that's Eve,-" Elle pointed toward the girl blushing behind her locker door,"- and that's Evan." Elle pointed back to the boy she was talking too.

"Y'all do look a lot alike..." I mumbled.

"Yeah. We're triplets," Elle said, smiling. I detected a hint of British-ness in her voice.

"Cool," I said. "Well, I'm Valentina. I'm gonna show you to your classrooms today! Whenever you need to go to another class, just meet me back here, and I'll show you where it is!" I smiled at Elle. "Um, what's your first class?"

"Oh, right. Elements Of Option Two, Type : Null." I smiled slightly at Elle.

"I have that first too! Follow me!" I said as I made my way over to the stairway.

When I got to the door, I checked to make sure that everyone was behind me. Sure enough, Elle, Eve, and Evan were all behind me, ready to go to class. I smiled at them, my eyes resting a bit more on Evan. He seemed nervous. Huh.

I opened the door, and while Evan passed in front of me, I whispered, "Don't be scared. You'll be fine," in his ear, hopping to make him feel a bit better. Instead, I noticed his cheeks growing redder every time I looked at him.

When we got to the third floor of the five story building, I entered the hallway, the new kids tailing me. I walked briskly down the hall to the ninth door on the right side of the hallway. I paused at the door, and looked at the others.

"Your first class," I smiled. "Elements Of Option 2, Type : Null. It's pretty advanced if you ask me. I don't know how y'all got in it. There's only one other Freshman in it. His name is Jace..."

I got lost in thought till I snapped back. "Well. Might as well go in..." I opened the door. I just got this class a few months before the end of school last year. It was somewhat hard to keep up with. I sat down in my usual seat next to Grace in the front row.

"Oi, Val," she said. I looked over at her and smiled.

"Eye, Grae," I replied.

Evan, Elle, and Eve stood uncomfortably at the front of the room, scanning it for empty desk. They each took one of the three in the back of the class, which were the only seats left.

I stared up at the board, quickly studying the Type : Null on it. It was quite hard remembering which was part was definitely which Type and which part might be which Type. It was worth it though if I got a hundred on the first test.

All of a sudden, the door started shaking, and Ms. Penelope popped in. She looked quite like normal, unlike the subject she taught. She wore a yellow hoodie, a red undershirt, and a pair of black jeans.

Ms. Penelope was quite relaxed usually, unless she got mad. Then she could literally control electricity.

She quickly walked in front of the class and beamed at us.

"Well!" She called out to us, "I am so, SO, glad to see our old students, and our new students! Welcome all of you, welcome! Now, we have four new students. Why don't you all come up here and tell us about yourself? Oh, and I'm Ms. Penelope, by the way."

I looked back at the triplets, who got up along with Jace, another Freshman. It looked like Jace was going first.

"Hi. I'm Jace. Back in a
Middle School, I used to run Cross Country. I was pretty good at basketball and gym too..." Jace stated.

I happened to glance back at Esther, behind me, who just happened to be trying to use Attract on Jace. I fully turned around and started using Babydoll Eyes and making kissing noises. Esther quickly hit my arm and stopped. I smirked as I turned around.

"Very nice Jace, very nice!" Ms. Penelope spoke. "Elle? How about you?" Jace took his seat, Esther's eyes tailing him all the way, and Elle took his place in front of the class.

"I'm Elle, and my twins are Evan and Eve. We're triplets and we're from the U.K.! I used to do cheer in Middle School. It was quite fun!" Elle sang.

"Nice! Who's next?" Ms. Penelope asked as Elle made her way back to the back of the classroom. I high-fived her when she passed.

Eve stood up next. "H-Hi. I'm E-Eve, and yes I-I'm Elle's twin..." Eve slightly whispered.

"A little louder, please!" Ms. Penelope said. Eve nodded and continued.

"I usually r-read books, or play with E-Elle, so, my l-life is quite boring, if y-you ask me... but please, d-don't ask..."

"Good job! Next?" Ms. Penelope said.

Evan stood up now. "I'm Evan.. I usually keep those two in order. We seem to balance each other out, so we stick around each other," he said.

I quickly turned my head around, just to make sure Esther wasn't using Attract on Evan. Sure enough, she was at least trying to do so. I quickly hit her on her arm, and she jerked it backward, stopping attacking Evan and giving me a glare that seemed to say, "Get out of my love life!" I giggled slightly and turned back around.

"Well, that's everyone..." Ms. Penelope called. "Now for today's assignment! Don't worry! It'll be fun!" A few people laughed at this, but she continued on. "Type : Null is one of the few 'Pokémon' as they call it, that aren't in human form. I want you all to chose a type and design your very own Pokémon! The ones that are in animal form, like Type : Null! You can name it anything as long as you add Type : to the front of it! Good luck!"

She started passing out papers, and I started planing my Type : Null in my head. This was one of the easiest assignments I've ever had from her. But if course, it's the first day back, and no one really wants to do a essay or five to twenty worksheets.

I grabbed my sheet of paper and started drawing.

***********

I quickly finished my drawing as the bell rang. After finishing it, I put it on Ms. Penelope's desk, and ran after Elle, Eve, and Evan who was already in the hall.

It hadn't even been an hour into the first school day and I was already getting tired and busy.
