Vik's Pov:

I was sitting in the teachers' lodge, eating my lunch and signing to the teachers when the door opened and the principal walked in. I smiled and went back to eating my lunch, until the principal said my name.

"Vikram, there is a new student here. I would like you to show him around."

'Why? I cant talk?' I sign.

The principal let out a sigh and side steeped and I saw a boy with a caramelish colored hair and blue eyes.

He waved at me.

'Hi my name is Brandon.' He signed.

I froze and dropped my food and walked up to him. I took his hand and walked out of the room and the last thing I saw was everyone in that room smiling. I walked over to the restroom and I locked the door behind us.

'You are a mute?' I signed to him.

'Yes. It was kinda selective, but also because my doctor messed up my vocal cords during a surgery. There is a 50% chance that I will ever talk again.' He signs to me and frowned.

'Well, I am a mute but it is selective. I stopped talking after my dad died.' I gestured back.

'I am sorry about that, but can I know your name?' He motioned with his hands.


'My name is Vikkram Barns, but call me Vik.' I sign to him.

'My name is Brandon Hutt.' He signed to me.

I smile and stick my hand out he gives me his hand and shakes it.

'Can I call you Pete? You look like a Pete.' I ask him.

He nods his head and I smile.

'Do you have any other friends?' He asks.

I shake my head.

'I haven't meet anyone that knows sighn language yet. All of the teachers know it, that is why I was in there, no one actually knows I exist.' I tell him.

'Well you know have a friend.' He signed me and I gave him a small smile.

'Well, let me see your schedule and I will show you where your classes are.'

He nodded his head and handed me his schedule. I look at it and smile. We have all of the same classes, this must be the work of the principlal.

'Well, we have all of the same classes. So welcome to Sky High, and I can't believe I actually have a friend.'

He smiles and gives me a side hug, then the bell rings.

'Well lets go get to class.' Brandon stated.

I nodded my head and unlocked the bathroom door. We then walked into the crowded hallway.
