taehyung was laying on jimin's bed, ranting to him.

"i just don't get it. who the fuck even is she? she just came out of nowhere and all of a sudden jeongguk cares about her way more than me!" taehyung groaned.

"i'm sure it's fine. the other guys are excited about her as well so she's probably an old friend." jimin tried to reassure him.

"what if she's an old girlfriend, though. what if he gets feelings for her again? what if he never even lost them?!" taehyung burried his face in his pillow.

"i think you're overthinking this." jimin sighed.

"and did you see their messages in the groupchat yesterday when jeongguk introduced us? why did she use the little smirking emoji when he mentioned me?" taehyung questioned endlessly.

"you seriously need to chill out. calm down and just talk to me." jimin reasoned, moving the pillow away from his friend's face.

taehyung sighed, "it's just that... i really felt like things could go somewhere with jeongguk. like, i felt as if we really could be something in the future. we were spending so much time together, texting every single day and acting so domestic with eachother. then suddenly jiwoo came into the picture and it feels like half of what we worked on has gone down the drain. it's a wednesday but we've only texted once this week for about ten minutes and we haven't seen eachother in real life at all for like six days. he's spending all his time with her and i just- i'm so jealous. so so so jealous, i can't help it. it's literally all i can think about."

jimin pouted in sympathy, "i think you need to let this happen. it's a test from the universe. if he decides to choose jiwoo then you'll know that you two were never meant to be. the fact that you're jealous means you don't trust him and if you don't trust him yet that means you're not ready for a relationship anyway. give it some more time and it'll work out one way or another."

"maybe." taehyung mumbled, hugging the pillow tightly.

they sit in comfortable silence for a second.

"i'm gonna call jeongguk." taehyung announced, sitting up slightly and pulling his phone out of his back pocket.

"wow, talk about giving it time. what was that? five seconds?" jimin laughed loudly.

"shut up jimin." taehyung smiled, embarrassed.

"you've got it so bad for that boy." jimin sang.

he was right.

taehyung clicked jeongguk's contact "jeonnie🖤" and made the call.

it rang once.

then twice.

three times.

it rang the whole way through until the call ended.

he didn't pick up.

taehyung shoved his face into the pillow again, "ugh he hates me, he thinks jiwoo is prettier than me!"

jimin rolled his eyes in defeat, "cmon!"

~time skip~

five hours later, taehyung is back at home with namjoon.

they were watching a movie in the living room when taehyung's phone went off.

he picked up the device seeing the notification on the screen.

taehyung caught himself smiling but it quickly faded when he remembered that this was the same man that didn't pick up his call five hours earlier.

he unlocked his phone to see what jeongguk had sent him.

taehyung's heart dropped at the mere few words.

jeongguk was with jiwoo.

of course.

the text had completely ruined his mood.

he frowned deeply, still staring at his phone.

"you alright?" namjoon asked, nudging him.

taehyung snapped out of his trance, "yeah, i'm good. i'm a little tired, i'm gonna head up to my room."

"hm, okay." namjoon sensed the hesitation in his brother's voice but decided to give him his space.

taehyung got up from the couch, heading down the hallway to his bedroom.

he tossed and turned all night, his heart jumping but not in the good way.

when he finally managed to drift off to sleep, he failed to realise that he never actually replied to jeongguk's text.

this left the latter confused.

jeongguk was also laying in bed, staring at his phone, tossing and turning. only he was doing it for a different reason.

jeongguk looked at the screen in confusion.

he had sent it two hours ago and taehyung had read it instantly yet... he got no reply.

taehyung left me on seen.

neither of them had a good sleep that night.
