it'd been just over two weeks since taehyung and jeongguk's first date and jeongguk was at his breaking point.

he was getting impatient.

he wanted taehyung to be his.

and not like how it was now. he wanted him to be actually his.

his boyfriend.

it's something that should be easy enough considering the fact that they'd been acting like a couple for ages now but jeongguk still didn't know where to even begin.

the reason they'd waited for so long in the first place was because jeongguk wasn't ready to officially call them boyfriends and taehyung was totally fine with that since he knew committment was a big deal to him.

however, now jeongguk was more than ready.

now jeongguk had the words on the tip of his tongue constantly. the burning question was always in the back of his mind and he couldn't stop thinking about it.

sometimes he'd stare at taehyung for so long with the question just barely about to slip out of his mouth that the other boy would think he's gone insane.

he was so in love with that boy.

so in love that sometimes he thought he was literally dreaming.

so in love that he thought he was in some sort of coma and he'd suddenly wake up for it all to disappear.

even though taehyung was far from perfect, he'd always be perfect to jeongguk.

too perfect to be real.

too good to be true.

jeongguk was sprawled out on the couch with seokjin sitting on the armchair next to him.

"yknow when nothing feels real anymore and you're just drifting through life but there's this one person that keeps pulling you back to reality and reminding you that you're a real person?" jeongguk asked, staring at the ceiling.

"jeongguk, i'm not a qualified counsellor. i don't know how to help you if you keep being all vague and cryptic with me." seokjin deadpanned, pinching the bridge of his nose.

jeongguk groaned loudly, "you're so useless, seokjin. you're not helping me at all."

"i don't even know what you want help with, for fuck's sake." seokjin sighed, exhausted.

"i wanna ask taehyung to be my boyfriend!" jeongguk said.

"why didn't you just say that?!" seokjin looked so completely done with this conversation.

"can you help or not?" jeongguk questioned him.

"not really. i don't ask people out, they ask me." seokjin answered.

jeongguk groaned loudly once more, "god, seokjin. you're so annoying, how did you get twenty different guys to ask you to be their boyfriend?"

seokjin ignored his comment, "i'm gonna facetime yoongi."

it rang a couple times before he picked up and his sleepy face popped up on the screen and he was clearly still laying in bed since there were white sheets crumpled around him.

"why are you calling me before 12:30?" yoongi immediately asked.

"jeongguk is having a crisis, as per usual." seokjin answered.

"is he alright?" yoongi frowned.

"just talk to him yourself. you're the only one who understands jeongguk language." seokjin handed the phone over to jeongguk who was still stretched across the couch pathetically.

"what's up, kid?" yoongi yawned.

"how did you ask hoseok to be your boyfriend?" jeongguk asked.

"i didn't. why?" yoongi raised a brow.

jeongguk groaned for the millionth time, "i'm trying to figure out a good way to ask taehyung to be my boyfriend but you're all inexperienced losers."

yoongi called out "babe!" then suddenly hoseok came jumping full-force on top of him.

"ouch." yoongi whined as hoseok kissed his face repeatedly.

"stop being gay and help me." jeongguk complained.

"oh hi jeongguk." hoseok waved.

"he needs help to ask out taehyung, i think. he asked me how i asked you out but i didn't since you asked me. so i called you to deal with it." yoongi explained to him.

"ohhhh, okay. you're finally gonna make it official?" hoseok asked the boy in question.

"well, i'm trying." jeongguk sighed.

"listen, taehyung is a boy who is accustomed to the finer things in life but is also a person who appreciates simpler little things. that being said, you don't necessarily have to go all out trying to impress him because you've already done that. just do something simple and sentimental that he'll remember. you don't want him to remember the night you asked him out as something all glitzy and over the top, you want him to remember it as something sweet and personal between the two of you." hoseok advised.

"so it needs to be casual and personal?" jeongguk reassured.

"yeah. remember, don't overthink it. just go with the flow. this whole step in the relationship is your decision to make because taehyung gave you that responsibility. you get to call the shots here so do what your gut is telling you to."

jeongguk soaked up hoseok's advice and listened carefully.

he wanted it to be perfect but it also had to mean something to both him and taehyung.

it was time to get planning.
