jeongguk was sitting alone in the living room of his (seokjin's) house.

jin had gone to see namjoon for the holidays and sope were spending it together this year too.

sure, christmas alone sucks, but jeongguk still took comfort in knowing that his closest friends were happy with their significant others on this occasion. even so, he felt quite envious of their happiness and even slightly pissed off since it seemed that none of them cared enough to do more than comment on his post despite knowing that he'd be alone the whole day.

he was about to head up to his room for the rest of the day but then the doorbell rang.

he sighed, annoyed. he had no idea who it could be since people don't visit on holidays unless it's planned and it's not like jeongguk had any friends or family to call over. the only people he was close to were already celebrating.

with that thought, who could it b-

"SURPRISE!"

the six males shouted, as soon as he opened the door.

seokjin, namjoon, yoongi, hoseok, jimin and taehyung.

taehyung? oh great.

"what're you guys doing here?" jeongguk asked, overcoming his initial shock and replacing it with confusion.

"i thought you-" he began again only to get cut off by yoongi.

"did you honestly think that we would leave you alone on christmas day?" yoongi asked.

"well i- i dunno..." jeongguk scratched the back of his head, feeling silly for doubting his friends, especially yoongi, seokjin and hoseok.

"oh my gosh." seokjin sighed, shaking his head but still wearing a smile.

"why didn't you just say that you were coming over?" jeongguk whined.

"because the only way to get a reaction out of you is to surprise you!" taehyung rolled his eyes, laughing.

"hey! i-"

"alright!" namjoon interrupted, stopping the fight before it started, "can we come in now, it's literally freezing?"

that's when jeongguk realised that they were still standing on the door step so he quickly let them inside.

the rest of the day consisted of board games, chatting about nonsense, arguing 24/7, chasing eachother around and jamming out to random early 2000s music.

and although it was a chaotic and unorthodox way to spend christmas, even someone as unsentimental jeongguk wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
